Sketchbox is a monthly subscription service for artists. They provide 5-6 art supplies plus a small print intended to inspire. Additionally, artists are encouraged to share their work with the Sketchbox community, and in some cases, have their work featured in a future box!
I love the design of this box, by the way! This is the artwork of one of their subscribers. Very cool!

This is the info card that was included with this month's package. This month is all about precision! It explains why they chose the items they sent.
This is the print that was included for this month. I think it's great that they include an example of what can be accomplished using only the supplies they have sent!
Daler Rowney Pocket Sketchbook - Value $5.29 (on sale for $3.12)
This sketchbook is the perfect size for casual sketching, and the paper is acid-free and smooth.
Ironlak Permanent Marker, Black - Value $1.85
The tip of this marker is small but soft, and the ink is super fast drying to prevent smudges.
Copic Wide Sketch Marker, Sky Blue - Value $5.89
These markers are double-ended and refillable. They are also compatible with their airbrushing system. Nifty!
Ironlak Fineliner Pens - Value $24.99
This is a great collection of colored pens. I really like the color variety. All the supplies included are wonderful for line drawing, but I think these pens would also be excellent for making comics!
Verdict: Sketchbox is great! The value of this month's items comes to about $38, which surpasses the cost of the box by $3 (or roughly breaks even if you count the sale price of the notebook). I have found that this is fairly typical for fine arts boxes. Selecting the right fine arts box really depends on what you are looking for. With Sketchbox, you don't get a specific project with instructions, but you do get a suggested "inspiration" for a type of drawing, plus a sampling of high quality instruments to try it out. There's definitely a discovery element that comes with Sketchbox. If you are a big fan of drawing, it's a really fun box to try out!
