This month the theme is Spring!  It was an awesome box too. This box DEFINITELY does packaging right.  The boxes are wrapped (!!), with stamps and stickers, and then the inside box is also decorated.  It feels like you're getting a gift from a friend.

The next box, in May, will be a self-care box.  Here's the teaser card that was thrown into this box: "You deserve to have a moment to turn off, to relax and reflect on you.  The May box delivers everything you need to help you unwind.  Whether you decide to take a candlelit bath, sip a cup of tea, or create something.  Perfect for Mother's Day, but deserving of any woman who wants to reconnect with herself.  Boxes ship May 1st."  If you want this box, be sure to sign up by April 8th.

A Natural Beeswax Skep Candle from Pea Pickle Farm - $2.75

This is a super cute little candle.  I've shown it with the lip balm so you can see the scale of it.  It smells like honeycomb, and I love it!

Strawberry Lime Lip Balm from Ollie and Max Soap Co. - $3.50

This lip balm smells SOOOOO good.  I love it!  It feels wonderful on, and it's vegan too!

Revel5

Weather Pattern Note Cards from LilaRubyKing - $7.50

I love these.  The illustration on them is adorable, and they're perfect for either gift tags or little cards.  I think I might actually write little encouraging notes and scriptures on them and hang them on a banner in my office!

Cloud Plate from JD Wolf Pottery - $18.00

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I absolutely ADORE this.  It is seriously one of the cutest things I've ever seen, and so appropriate for Spring.  This is definitely my favorite item from this box, and possibly even my favorite item this month!  And really, how cute are these?!

Revel6

Tillandsia Cork Magnet from Revel Box - $5.00?

Revel Box always includes a few homemade crafts, from the curator of the box.  This is one of the homemade crafts this month!  I've had a tillandsia before, and I killed it.  I know, I have the blackest of all black thumbs.  I am looking forward to trying to keep this one alive, at least through spring!  It's the only plant in my house, so maybe with all of my attention focused on it, it will make it?

Wildflower Mix Greeting from Revel Box - $8.00?

Revel Box also includes one personalized item each month, which makes this box feel even more like a gift from a friend.  I've not decided yet where to plant my wildflowers, but I'm considering giving them to my sister, and telling her that she has to text me every now and again to show me how they're doing!

Verdict:  This Revel Box has an approximate value of $44.75.  I absolutely LOVED this box.  Like I have said repeatedly throughout this review, it is much like receiving a wonderful gift from a friend, that is personalized for you.  This box is fun to open, fun to review, and fun to use!  I highly recommend signing up for this one.

Have you tried Revel Box yet?  Did you love this box as much as I did?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Bekki,

Yay! You loved your gift! Bekki, you nailed the intent of revel box. I do want it to feel as if a friend is sending you a package, whether you ordered it for yourself or for someone you love. I am glad you appreciated my contributions to the box. In making the wildflower mix greeting, I hand drew the design, hand cut and sealed the packets, and then transferred all the names and images by a transfer technique.

We have now added a quarterly seasonal subscription and are moving into the gift basket space. Revel box’s cheerful, modern, Scandinavian inspired aesthetic separates us from traditional gift baskets. No basket or clear wrap to toss, just a cute box with themed handmade contents. Whether for a birthday, thank you, or to celebrate Stars Hollow’s return, we will be there to celebrate. This May we will launch the get well box, and in the summer, expect to see more special occasions boxes. Thanks for the great review! Happy Spring! ~Deanna

I got the “spring cleaning” box last week (5-6 items for $39) and absolutely loved it! It is so well put-together. “It is much like receiving a wonderful gift from a friend” is exactly right! I think when you said that in an earlier review I was immediately convinced! With the hand-decorated packaging alone, it was way more fun to open than my Birchbox (just got my first box of that yesterday and was a bit underwhelmed, but I guess that’s what you get for $10)

In my box I got the cloud plate (the thing that I was MOST looking forward to!), beeswax candle, wildflower seeds, notecards, the flower stickers from the February box, and these cute wooden earrings that I’d been eyeing on the website! I am not sure if I will wear them or gift them, but I love the design of them. They are by The Snack Stand which I am having trouble googling right now thanks to their “clever” name…unfortunately the earrings are at home and I’m not.

Altogether I love the box concept, but I’m not sure if I will subscribe. Most of the items are decorative, and while I truly love that, I need to focus more on functional items for myself. Byproduct of too much shopping! I will more than likely give future boxes as gifts, though. It was such a treat to open!

I noticed on the website there’s a placeholder for a Gilmore Girls box–Deanna please let us know when you’re releasing that one because I would love to send it as a gift to my friends!

Cece,

Thank you for your order! I am so happy that you enjoyed your box. It’s totally okay not to maintain a subscription! We are more of a gift basket in a box kinda company anyway! So, about the GG box. Jess at Poison Apple Apothecary and I are in talks about GG themed soap. Her question: what would Paul Anka soap smell like? I see that you are on our mailing list, I will def. keep you in the loop. ~Deanna

Found The Snack Stand on etsy but they’re “taking a break”. Sad, their jewelry is cute! https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheSnackStand

I bought two March boxes after seeing this review. The cloud dishes and bee hive candles were adorable and super giftable.

I hate saying it, but I didn’t like this box. In estimating value, I always consider if these things are something I would’ve bought or would by more of. The cloud plate is adorable and I ended up regifting it with a baby shower gift (I stacked some gift cards, the Beehive, and baby soap/washcloths on it). But, I wouldn’t have spent $18 on that plate or any money for the candle. Lip gloss is lip gloss. Once you look at the ingredients, there’s very little difference in any of them beyond flavor or packaging. So, I would value the gloss the same as any drug store gloss. Which leaves the cork plant and seeds… really, my plant looked sad. And, the wildflower mix is EXACTLY the same mix as you can buy at Home Depot for $1.99. So, I don’t quite buy that these seeds were special or high end…they’re seeds. And, unfortunately, in some soils and areas, these won’t grow at all OR, worse, they will introduce invasive species into new environments. Consider this- the California Poppy isn’t native to California. It was brought by the Spanish and it now proliferated at such a rate that it actually played a part in harming native animals and other plants. The value just isn’t the there for my money.

Hi, Christy! I’m so sorry to hear that you were not happy with your spring box. ? I tried to look up your order to check on tracking your shipment but couldn’t find one under Christy!? Please email me directly so we can sort out what went wrong with your little cork magnet. I know we can find a solution! Hugs!

I can keep pretty much any plant alive if I try — except air plants.

I have seen them at my local nursery inside glass globes (with openings at the top or on the side) and a bunch of sphagnum moss (I think) in there to better control moisture levels. If I ever get another one, I’m going to try that instead.

I think this box is adorable and would love it, but I think the calculated value is way lower…. I got $34.75 when totaling the listed values, and I have a hard time believing a wild flower seeds mix would run $8. Also, I love the green cloth you took the photos on… Wish that came with the box! 🙂

Hi! The value of the cloud plate is actually $18! It’s from JD Wolfe Pottery and her work has been featured in J Crew and Anthropologie! Check her Etsy shop, she’s very talented!

Eliz

Actually, upon investigating the items further, the cloud plate costs $18! There’s the extra $10.
