Scratch Monthly Mani Box
4.2 overall rating
6 Ratings | 4 Reviews

The Monthly Mani Box (MMB) by Scratch is a nail wrap subscription service.  Every month Scratch collaborates with different artists to curate the MMB.

“Our wraps are screenprinted on a thin adhesive with 5-free polish inks.  They go on smoothly and last like real nail polish.  Unlike other nail wraps, ours look like genuine nail polish when applied!”

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

March Nail Wraps

Last month our Mommy Daughter manis came out really good, so I included photos of them at the very end.  I’ve seen MSA viewers asking how they apply and if they last.  Answers: Practice makes perfect, in all things.  The clear plastic applicators can be tricky at first, but after a few tries, you’ll get the hang of it, promise!  Cutting them down to size for a toddler, is a completely different story.  It’s a pain!  But considering how cute it looks makes the task well worth it.  My manicures last on average 3-4 days before the first signs of chipping.  I sit at a computer all day, and some nights 🙂 LOL.  And I don’t baby my manicures, I zip up jeans, braid multiple heads of curly hair and wash dishes.  It’s going to happen eventually.

Lucky You Nail Wraps - Value: $8.00

Super cute!!  If Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch made a baby (nail wrap), it would look just like this. LOL.  Or maybe I’m just hungry right now, what do you think?!  I love that I can cut a few down for Abigail.  I love glitter wraps by Scratch, tons of glitter and so much easier to remove.  I use a non-acetone polish remover because Abigail is very sensitive to acetone and it can give her a rash.  So, I made the switch for her too.

Bloom Nail Wraps - Value: $8.00

So fancy!  I love it.  It reminds me of the cover of an old book or journal. It’s giving me  antique vibes.  I’m definitely going to look to Instagram for nail-spiration.  I’ve grown my nails out a tad past my comfort zone in so I can try rounded tips.  I’m pretty square. LOL.  My idea in my head is to paint my nail base at the cuticle a burnt orange like the flowers or green like the leaves, whichever matches best and apply the wraps to upper half of my nails.  Again, I’m not not a nail technician, or a magician, I just love trying new looks on myself and I’m getting better with consistent practice.

Prism Nail Wraps - Value:$8.00

Fifteen years ago, I’d rock these wraps in a heartbeat because I grew up watching Rainbow Brite and The Care Bears.  Nowadays, rainbows on grown adults can have a completely different meaning, and I don’t want to send any mixed messages.  Again, these are my personal opinions, I have no opinions on how any of our viewers live their lives, that’s not my business.  I will however continue with this review by saying, these are going to look great on Abigail!  Because of the swirly pattern, I won’t have to be as precise when I cut them down for her and that makes me so excited to have them.  Her fingers and toes are so tiny, I’m sure I can get at least 4 sets of fingers and toes combined.

Hex Nail Jewelry - Full Body Moon & Star Nail Charm - Value: $1.75

Cool! These fit perfectly over my ring and pinky fingers.  My other nail beds are too flat to hold the shape it’s bent into.  I’m really surprised how inexpensive nail charms are considering that they can be reused.  If these wear well, I’ll repurchase for sure.  There are a ton of other pretty charms for sale on site.

Foil Nuggets in Gold - Value: $1.25

OMG! I’ve always wanted to try this!  I need to watch more YouTube tutorials though.  I think this is one of the best surprise gifts from Scratch in a while.

MK Nail Lacquer - Playa Del Sol Nail Polish - Value: $1.75

From the bottle, this polish appears to be lime/lemon in color.  I swatched a bit on my pinky nail and it’s actually sheer with a organza sort of sheen to it.  It’s much prettier than I thought.  How I’ll use it… I’m not sure to be honest.  I wouldn’t recommend wearing it alone, it makes it look like my nails are stained...but not in a good way.

Verdict:  The March Monthly Mani Box had an estimated retail value of nearly $31.00. Barely covering the cost of US subscribers.  On the other hand, this is one of the few boxes that I truly loved every single wrap!  I hate that my love for Scratch and the value seem to never meet or even play at the same park.  To stay positive, the things that I love the most about Scratch: Unique nail wraps every month, no repeats!  They send gifts with purpose like glitter, nail brushes, charms and rings that can be used over and over again.

I have to say, you are so much more sensible about manicures for your daughter than my sister is. She takes her two little girls (ages 4 and 5) to a nail salon for manicures, which seems ridiculous to me…
