Golden Tote $49 Tote Review – March 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from)

Also, they send your items in a differently designed tote every month!

FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it. For returns it’s an all-or-nothing deal. You can return the entire tote for a refund, but you can’t return individual pieces.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: Golden Tote

The Cost: $49 or $149 (This review is of the $49 tote)

The Products: Clothing items you pick plus surprises from Golden Tote!

Ships to: Everywhere! Shipping to the continental US is free on orders of $149 or more.

Delivered via: UPS

Each tote comes with a styling suggestion card for the item you picked that month.

GOLDEN TOTE 49 MARCH 2016 - items 1

Southwestern Traveler Tank – value: $40

(100% polyester; hand wash cold, do not bleach, hang or line dry)

This tank was my pick this month! I got the coral over the blue because I don’t have a lot of coral in my wardrobe. I love this! It feels very light and cool, and I appreciate that I can wear a normal bra with it. I wish I didn’t need to wear a cami under it, but that’s not the worst thing ever.

GOLDEN TOTE 49 MARCH 2016 - items 2

Bo Bel Floral Skater Dress – value: $60?

(95% rayon, 5% spandex; hand wash cold, lay flat to dry)

I am blown away with this print! I love this floral design. This dress is crazy comfortable and soft. The “skater dress” part of it, I assume, is related to how high the neckline is. I really wish it weren’t – I’d love a crew neck on this.

Verdict: I love this $49 Golden Tote! I think $25 for each item is a good value. And I love that my stylist picked this gorgeous floral dress for me!

What did you pick from Golden Tote this month? Any good surprise items?

  1. Haley, did you not get a $149 tote this month? I love your reviews and I keep checking back to see if you added one.

  2. I love, love, love the way the dress looks on you! Beautiful! I wonder if it’ll look good on a 5 ft 110 pounder like me. I love dresses but it’s hard to find a good fit since I’m so short 🙁

  3. I am getting my first tote tomorrow… I got the $149 tote with a dress and I can’t even remember what else. I am excited… but nervous to see what the surprise items are!

  4. Haley: Love reading your reviews. I am not even close to the size I need to be for the clothing subscriptions you review, but I love how you model everything for us….it’s a nice touch (although I admit I’m a little envious of how at ease you are in front of the camera….you’re a natural!).

    • Thanks, Jayne! That’s so sweet. =]

  5. I believe the skater dress part is based on the cut and is just another name for fit and flare. I have spaghetti strap dresses that are called skater dresses that have a similar silhouette.

    • Oh, thanks for that info!

    • Yes it is the cut of the skirt specifically…the full circle skirt and higher waist on the dress is what makes it “skater”…they make just skirts that are also skater skirts, often having a high wide waistband :o)
