Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review – February 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Wantable Intimates is one of the subscriptions from Wantable, and it is probably my favorite box they offer. Like all Wantable subscriptions, you can heavily customize what they send you by filling out your preferences – and you still get to be surprised!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription Box: Wantable Intimates

The Cost: If you subscribed before October 24th, you were locked into the previous $40/box rate. However, for new subscribers (anyone who signed up after October 24th) the new price has increased to $50/box.

The Products: 3 intimates products based on your profile settings.

Ships to: US, Canada (additional $6), UK (additional $7) and Australia (additional $10)

Check out all of our Wantable reviews and the Women’s Subscription Box Directory!

Here are the order details of my box. Wantable recently added free individual item returns to their subscription plans, so you can send back any item(s) you don’t want and get the refund based on the “Your price” listing. (Returns are free for US subscribers). However, if you keep everything, you get a “$4 credit” to your account making your next box $46. If you return anything, you have to pay the full $50 cost for the next box.

When you first sign up for any Wantable subscription you take a style quiz and you can get very specific about the items you want and don’t want. (This is the list of my loves, likes and dislikes from my invoice).

Wantable has also developed their “stream,” which is basically just a feed of photos items from subscribers of their items and boxes. The items are identified and linked below the photos so if you see something you want, you can request it to be sent to you.

Nouveau by Pajama Drama Tunic – retail: $30 (my price: $16)

Nouveau by Pajama Drama Ruffle Shorts – retail: $30 (My Price $16)

Okay, so as many issues as I’ve been having with Wantable, I am really happy with this set – it actually might be one of my favorite things they’ve ever sent me, ever. The brand is the same as what I’ve seen in many other boxes so I don’t know if it’s “new inventory” from them or not, but this tunic and short set are really soft and fit great. (photo of these being worn at end of article.)

Blush Thong – retail: $15 (my price: $8)

This thong is okay. They’re soft and functional but I’m not super excited to get underwear in my boxes anymore. I should change my preferences, really. It’s just that I’ve received 2 or 3 pairs I’ve really loved in past boxes a while ago and keep hoping I’ll get more.

I really do love this tunic + short set. The lilac color is beautiful and both items fit really well. I’m really happy.

Verdict: Sometimes you can find items that Wantable sends on sale online so the value can be a little tricky to evaluate – personally, I think as long as all the items included are worth the subscription cost to me, I count the box as a win. I’m really happy with this month’s box, but I’m just not sure I would have paid $50 for it. I don’t know – at least this feels like a ray of hope that maybe they’re starting to send things I like better? Also, I’m really glad that my stylist paid attention to my note about liking tunics and tops (and not to send me anymore leggings!).

What do you think about Wantable Intimates? What did you get this month, and what do you think about the changes? Have you been having a better last couple months than I have?

  1. I received my January box today. It included a plain pair of black panties, a black and cream bra, a blue floral pair of pj pants and the Aztec leggings. I always put no leggings in my comments and it was right there on the info sheet. When I called to discuss, the stylist acknowledged the error and then said how lucky I was to get a bonus item. I explained that the bonus item was due to the inordinate amount of time the box was delayed, not that they did it out of the goodness of their hearts. I keep seeing over and over that the stylists do not seem to even read the comments. It’s such a shame that my favorite box has become one I almost dread to open. The response by customers since the changes to the box is overwhelmingly negative. At what point do they start listening?

  2. I got the exact same set but Daisy Fuentes underwear instead.

  3. Still waiting on the January box…

  4. I can’t believe they still have the Pajama Drama clothes! The top on that one is super long and it does look comfy though!

  5. Ok yippee Haley review and I’m scrolling down and see a thong, and I’m like, well this will be interesting to see Haley taking a picture of herself in a thong thinking what a brave girl you are LOL!

  6. I read these reviews every month hoping that things will improve with Wantable, because I’d totally pay $50/month for loungewear if I thought it would be worth it. As it is, all I read about (here and elsewhere) is that the price has increased while the quality and customer service has gone downhill. No thanks!

I shouldn’t be surprised though. I spent three months getting Wantable Edit boxes and that was pretty much a disaster (1 item kept among 15 sent). I canceled when I found the EXACT pants they sent me (style, name, color, size) on Amazon, and Wantable refused to price match them.

  7. You look so pretty, Haley. I really appreciate that you show us how things look on you ( the modest things, to be specific so I don’t sound like some sicko). I have that set and need to get it out and wear it. I have about a years’ worth of nightwear from Wantables that I have never worn because I’m a nightgown person due to my tallness. I know you can relate.

I have a question- When they changed the box prices, they also changed the questions. When I tried to ELIMINATE panties as an option, it will not let me proceed to the next order screen.
I noticed that your past 2 reviews have included panties. Is this because they are making everyone take one sleep set and one pair of panties now or did you actually want this instead of, IDK, socks?

    • Amanda, good question. I would have loved socks instead. If I remember correctly, with the new changes, I think every box will have some kind of underwear in it… I’m not a fan of that, but I think that’s correct. I’ll have to go to my preferences and see if what you’re talking about happens to me, too!

      • And thank you! =D

  8. I’m cancelling my sub as soon as my box gets here. Last box I received was for someone else and that took 3 weeks to sort out. This current box had a UPS label created 1/29 but has yet to move. I contacted customer service and they said they’re “sure it will show up”. Wow, that’s so not helpful. I remember when their CS was one of the best – now not so much. Plus with the price increase and LESS product – yeah, I’m out.

  9. I requested that tunic in the Stream — hope I get it! Super cute!

This month was a miss for me. Just like January, they sent me 2 bras and a pair of panties. They must really think I have four boobs. X-D

But unlike January, these bras didn’t work at all. The bands on both bras were really tight, so maybe I’ve gained weight?

I had requested that any future bras they send me be light in color (beige, white, baby pink) because they have loaded me up on dark bras in the past and now I don’t have enough to wear with light/sheer clothing. One of the bras they sent me this month was bright sky blue, and the other one had white cups WITH A BLACK BAND AND BLACK STRAPS. Kind of defeats the purpose.

I was disappointed that they didn’t send me anything I’d requested from the Stream over the last couple months. I mentioned that at the end of the survey (which I updated to request a larger band size). So hopefully next month will be better! I’m due for some lounge wear!

  10. The set is cute and the thong is practical. Definitely not cute or practical enough for $50 though. I would rather spend that money at VS or do a bogo at Adore Me.
