Kiwibop Postcard Pals is a subscription service for children who are beginner readers. Each month the "postcard pals" send postcards to the child with lovely pictures and interesting facts about all kinds of different topics.

This package was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The first postcard we pulled out of the envelope was this beautiful one about giraffe! We had the opportunity to get up close to some giraffe on a recent vacation, and the kids loved them.

The reverse side of each postcard is in postcard format, but is filled with interesting facts about the topic (in this case, giraffe). This seems to be written at a level that would be great for preschool and early grade school students to read with (or to) their parents.

There is also a website adress for their online content. We took a peek and found that there is tons of information on their site about all kinds of fascinating topics!

The second postcard is about kiwi fruit. We love kiwi at our house!

The third postcard is about Mount Everest. This postcard is gorgeous, plus every kid should know about the highest mountain in the world!

I think every month Kiwibop Postcard Pals sends us one postcard that stumps even my husband and I. Have you ever heard of the Pickle Barrel House, located in Michigan's upper peninsula? How interesting!

Verdict: I was a little skeptical about Kiwibop Postcard Pals at first, but now that I have seen the overall value of the subscription, I'm a fan. The postcards themselves are beautiful and the topics are interesting. The kids should have no problem reading them (with help if needed), and the level is such that they can understand and learn about these topics. The online content is vast and also contains lots of additional interesting topics. The subscription is very inexpensive, especially for what your child gets and what they can access. Plus, kids love getting mail!

What do you think of Kiwibop Postcard Pals?

We are on our second year. My daughter loves this. She gets mail addressed to her and she calls the characters her “friends.”
