globein-artisan-feb-2016-info

This box comes with an info booklet – the first page is a letter explaining the theme. Inside each maker and their product is detailed. There’s also details about the fair trade practices, community support initiatives, etc. – it is a feel-good read!

globein-artisan-feb-2016-spatula

Olive Wood Spatula by Le Souk Olivique from Tunisia - Value $10

This spatula is even better than I was expecting based on the spoiler pictures! It measures about 12 inches long, and the olive wood is so beautiful!

globein-artisan-feb-2016-knife

Olive Wood Spreader by Le Souk Olivique from Tunisia - Value $7

This knife measures about 7 inches long and looks great with the spatula. I like that GlobeIn included two matching pieces in this box. (Maybe we can get more in future boxes!)

Argan Project Amlou Argan Almond Butter - (6 oz) Value $9

This spread is really good! (Like, eat straight out of the jar good). It is made with almonds, argan oil and honey. The almonds aren't fully ground, so the texture is almost more like a topping than a butter. GlobeIn recommends using it with fruit or on toast, and I'm sticking by my eat it out of the jar recommendation, too!

globein-artisan-feb-2016-trivet

Block Print Trivet (India) - Value $10

(Colors/prints will vary)

This is the item that I originally thought would be the bowl from the Benefit Basket spoiler. (Sorry for any confusion - up until this month, all Benefit Baskets featured an item from the Artisan Gift Box, so a spoiler for the Benefit Basket would also mean a spoiler for the Artisan Gift Box). That being said, this is a useful item, but I personally would have preferred to see the bowl in this box.

(Alternatively, this means that potentially subscribers can subscribe to both subscriptions without overlap, so I definitely see the benefit to that!)

Palm Leaf Basket – Value $12

And each box comes with some of the contents packaged in a palm leaf basket.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $48. I think that's good for a subscription box that focuses on fair trade and giving back. And as always, GlobeIn impresses me with their themes and curation each month!

What do you think of the February 2016 GlobeIn Artisan box? What do you think of the change in Benefit Basket vs Artisan Gift Box for this month (AKA no overlaps)?

Hi everyone! How did you choose “Cozy” instead of “Rise & Shine”? I only see an option to purchase Cozy for $50, but don’t see it as a choice in the subscription option. Please let me know if you can – thank you!

First, make sure you are signed into your account(top corner log in/sign up) then click the same spot that now says “me” click account then your current subscription. It should now ask you if you want to stick with February, click that and you will see options a little lower for any currently available boxes.
Hope that helps and good luck! 🙂

I see Cozy still under my subscription. I’m looking on my phone and it’s below Rise & Shine.

Oh my heart is broken 😉 I had so many plans for that beautiful bowl. I don’t have a need for the trivet so I switched to the cozy basket. The mug is pretty…

Love the trivet! I actually don’t own any, so this will be nice to have. I’ve always used molded silicone grabbers for potholders — they look kind of like pac-man or hand puppets. Anyway, since they aren’t flat, they don’t work as trivets. That always leaves me scrambling for a towel or something to sit a hot dish on.

I also like the idea of having a different item in the benefit basket. I’ve always subscribed to both and have loved receiving a duplicate item, but getting a unique item instead would also be fabulous! Of course, they’ll be getting more of my money, though… :-/ I was telling myself that if I didn’t need/want a duplicate item, I would just skip that month with the Benefit Basket. If they move toward all the items being unique, however, I’ll probably never turn one down! I should set my Benefit Basket billing cycle from every-month back to every-three or every-six months to save a bit of money. A subscribe-to-both-boxes-and-save plan would be really nice!!!

I’m so glad I switched to Laundry. I love the olive oil spatulas, the almond butter is OK (but only becaues it has argan oil and honey, so it’s not something I’ve had before, though I just noticed some similar products at my local discount grocery store) but the potholder is a total waste for me. I don’t need a pretty potholder.

This is also a very low value box, at $36 (I don’t count the basket, they didn’t use to count it either last year).

I am also really bummed about the bowl. That was the big “win” item for me this month. I decided to go with the Cozy box instead.. I also would like to know if the benefit basket will now be different than the artisan box… I may need to reconsider my subscription.

I like the olive wood pieces, hopefully they go up for swap, I switched my basket this month to “Wander” as the almond butter wasn’t appealing to me.

? I would have much rather have had the bowl!! It fits into the pattern of the other baskets…. I cannot swap for one because I am on the waiting list to join here….
I might be purchasing the bowls. …

I, too, would have preferred the bowl. But I will use everything. Very tempted to sign up for the Benefit basket, too.

Do we know for sure if the Benefit and Artisan boxes are going to be different from this point forward? If so, perhaps I’ll need to resubscribe to the Benefit basket….

I called today, and Liza from GlobeIn said that depending on customer reaction, they will be different. She said so far people seem to like it .

I’m so glad you reviewed this and that they let us make changes. If the bowl was in this box I would have kept it, but I switched to Laundry. Cozy is back up as an option too. Thanks Liz!

I switched to laundry too. I tried to cancel initially but I guess I didn’t do it in time. They never responded to my follow up email.

The bowl is so much more of a ‘wow’ than the potholder/trivet. I still like it and can use it but, was already picturing my clementines in that bowl 🙂

Me, too…
That and the other cup sitting beside it…
