The Ox Box Subscription Review – January 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

The Oxford Trunk is an online boutique that sells very funky ladies’ clothing and accessories. I love their style! They have a subscription box that I have been a fan of for some time now, but they recently changed their whole subscription model! It used to be a quarterly subscription, and now it’s monthly. Also, you now have a choice among:

* Boho, preppy, girlie, and classic styles
* Large (3-5 items with a retail value of at least $85) or small (1-2 items with a retail value of at least $30, no clothing)
* Pierced ears or non-pierced

This review is of the small boho box for pierced ears.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Subscription Box: The Ox Box

Cost: Large boxes are $50 + $10 shipping, small boxes are $15 +$5 shipping

The Products: Items can include (but are not limited to) jewelry, beauty products, clothing, and accessories.

Ships to: US & Canada (for $20 shipping instead of $10)

Ships via: USPS

The Ox Box doesn’t usually include any paper, but this month they included this card and a sticker. There’s a coupon on the reverse side for 10% off my next order with The Oxford Trunk. Nice!

Just as a note, these are items that The Oxford Trunk does not carry on its website usually, so I don’t have any basis for providing links or retail values usually. I have heard that they send a lot of their sample items, which would make sense, but I have no way of knowing if that’s true or not.

Hooray for simple danglers! These are about two inches long, so they’re exactly my style: funky, but not gaudy. They are a really shiny gold color, but this picture doesn’t really show that since the shade is so close to the color of the wooden table.

This is the first time I’ve ever received sunglasses from Ox Box, but I’m very happy to have them. I wouldn’t say they are necessarily “boho” – I think they could work for a variety of different looks – but I like them anyway. The metal / plastic frames and the shape are classic. Plus I love grey lenses in winter!

Verdict: I love Ox Box! I was especially happy this month to get some shades that are perfect for winter. Because I never really know the retail values of the pieces, I always just have to ask myself if it was worth the $20. My answer is always yes!

What do you think of Ox Box?

  1. I like the earrings! I wouldn’t have much use for the sunglasses since I wear prescription lenses, but sometimes I go out places where I want to wear cheaper sunglasses in case they get lost, and being able to see clearly is not really a priority, so they’d get a little bit of use. I’d like to try each of the boxes! Not sure I could wear any of the clothing, but I could try the small boxes in each of the styles, because earrings are one size fits all!

  2. I’d love to see what comes in the girlie and classic boxes!!! (Boho is the opposite of my style)

  3. Both the earrings and sunglasses are cute. Wonder what the “preppy box” included.
