Degree Women Fresh Energy Dry Spray – FULL SIZE! Value $5

I prefer stick deodorants, but I had to give this one a try. I found that the formula dried almost immediately, and while this isn’t a 48-hour formula for me, it worked for a day which is really all I can ask for! It is scented though, so when you spray it, the whole area around you also becomes scented – just something to keep in mind before you try it!

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer – 2 oz Value $1.40

I also got a sample of this in the Winter Walmart Beauty Box. This product is meant to be applied post-shower on wet skin. It’s an interesting formula – sort of a cross between a gel and a lotion. I wasn’t crazy about the scent, though.

Caress Love Forever Body Wash – 1.8 oz Value $.50

This body wash is borderline scary science for me:

Caress presents a fine fragrance breakthrough with the world’s first body wash with Fragrance Release Pearls. A touch-activated technology that releases a burst of perfume every time you touch your skin, all day long.

It promises fragrance release for up to 12-hours everytime you touch your skin. I’m not a huge fan of the scent or the idea so this will be passed along.

Revlon Ultimate All-In-One Mascara – FULL SIZE! Value $9

I looked at reviews before I got this box, so I knew to expect a tiny brush and some clumping issues. Here is the look at the brush:

Turns out, no clumping issues for me! I actually like the formula a lot, and the small brush head made it easy to apply and hit all lashes. This was a nice surprise! (And I wore it all day with no smudging!).

Laneige BB Cushion – Value $6.80 (Or $2.27 if you only count the shade that works for you).

This sample includes three different shades:

Light, Medium, and Medium Dark. I love that they send out a sample that works for more than one skin tone! Here are the sample BB Cushions:

This formula provides a good amount of coverage while still looking like you aren’t wearing makeup – I love that aspect of it. My only gripe is that the formula has a perfumed scent, but that fades pretty quickly.

Hada Labo Tokyo Anti-Aging Facial Mask – Value $3.75

I love that this mask is fragrance free. I tried it out last night and it was super hydrating!

Scrunci No-Slip Grip Braided Headwrap – Value $7

Maybe it is time to make a belated resolution to workout more. When I first saw this I didn’t think, “a workout headband!” I thought, “Yay, a headband to keep my hair out of the way when I’m trying out masks!”

Anyway – after getting hair elastics from Target boxes for so long, the headband is a welcome and useful change!

ATTITUDE Volume & Shine Shampoo – 1 oz Value $.67

ATTITUDE 2-in-1 Shampoo – 1 oz Value $.67

This brand is new to me and I love that they are ingredient conscious (vegan and cruelty-free too).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $35 – amazing for a $7 box! With the exception of the Jergens and Caress products, everything in this box works great for me – I just love Target Beauty Boxes!

  1. I loved my Target beauty box. I’m favorite has been the mascara. MAC has a similar wand and you really only have to take it out and it has enough on there to do both eyes without having to double or triple dip into the tube. I also loved the mask, it was very hydrating and it felt cool on my face. The headband, I loved it too. Deodorant is a great thing to stick in my daughter’s soccer or basketball bag even though we are mainly stick users. Overall, it was a great little box and I’m excited to receive February’s!

  2. I am extremely frustrated with this box. Last year (winter) I purchased a Women’s and a Men’s box. I have not received one since! It seems to me that others are notified on an ongoing basis for these, but I am not. I have called and e-mailed Target and they act like they don’t know what I am talking about. How is one supposed to know they are even on sale? I do subscribe to this newsletter, but I do not always have the time to read them on the day they come out. I have a fairly demanding job. If I read it a couple of days late, then I am usually out of luck! Sorry, like I said, I am a little frustrated…..

    • It’s hit or miss for me. About 3 weeks after the Target box is sold out start checking everyday. Late at night, in the morning, and/or afternoon. I religiously did this and at 2am got this last one. The one before I didn’t check for 2 days and I missed it. I really wanted that one ugh. Walmart’s practice of running out of the good samples and throwing in whatever after that sucks. Just because it’s only 5 bucks doesn’t mean everyone shouldn’t get the same.

  3. I love the Target boxes. I was totally blown away with the quality and quantity of items for the price. Getting at least 2 full size items is worth the money when they are including at least 4 sample size items, and a coupon! I am soooooo pleased. They put Wal Mart boxes to shame!!!

  4. That truly looks like a great box. I wish that I can catch it when it goes up on sale. For some strange reason, I did not get the e-mail notification. I hope everyone enjoys the box because it looks like it’s stocked with a lot of great stuff.

    • I didn’t get one last time either. Now I check a couple of times everyday about a week or so after the previous box sells out. It seems to be available in the early morning hours after midnight on the day it comes out. It’s so worth the effort.

  5. Liz, thank you so much for the notifications you send when the Target box goes up for sale! I love your site! The Target boxes are such a treat! I got both boxes this month. I share them with my teenage daughter. Between the both of us we use everything. She loves the headband! In addition, I was picked at random and won a $100 gift card for The Honest Company from Liz, the first month I signed up for her email alerts!! This is such a great site!

    • Yay! So glad you got both boxes and the email alerts worked for you 🙂

And congrats again on winning the giveaway!!

      • Thanks again! 🙂

  6. I just got mine today and I must say Target has completely impressed me again . I love the headband, mine was black. I ordered 2 of these boxes by mistake. I haven’t received the other one yet. I think the only variation is the headband color

    • My mascara was completely empty! I mean there was never mascara put into it. I hope the store will trade it for a new one. It was so funny we kept putting the wand in and seeing nothing on it and going huh? Never heard of that ever happening to anyone before.

      • Here’s an update on the empty mascara I got. I did an online chat and at first they offered me a 2.00 gift card but I told them that wouldn’t pay for one so they upped it to 5.00 and told me to take the mascara to the store and swap it for a new one. I haven’t done that yet so I hope they will do that. It pays to hold out for a better reimbursement. I check Target almost everyday about a week after the box has sold out to catch the new one. It seems to show up after midnight on the day of release just so you know.

      • Midnight in what time zone?

      • What??

    • I am extremely impressed by these Target boxes. They are such a great value! I am hooked!

  7. Wish I ordered this one too! Would’ve loved to try that bb cushion. It all looks great though. I got two of the refresh box.

  8. I was quite happy with this box, but I gave it a $27 value. I think the more fair way of pricing single-use samples is based on how many uses you get out of the full size item, not how much product there is. But of course it’s a pain to figure that out. That said, I found out that the BB cream lasts at least 2 months using it daily.

  9. Loved this box! I’m not a huge fan of the Jergens moisturizer scent either (smells like glue?) but my skin feels amazing- the cold weather hasn’t done me any favors but the last two days my legs and arms have stayed soft and clear.

  10. My mask had 2 small tears in it some of the fluid had leaked out, but luckily didn’t ruin anything else in the box. Target credited me $3 back for it and $2 back for the Clear item not matching the description in the Refresh box. Have to say, I love their boxes and customer service.

  11. LOVED IT!!! Makes me hate my walmart “box” even more!

  12. I got both of the boxes this time and I’m loving everything in them! So far I’ve loved every target box I got. You get a lot of stuff for your money

  13. I wanted to try the mascara anyway so this box was like getting that cheaper AND getting a bunch of bonus items

  14. I love the renewal box and I’m slowly using the products. I was in need of new deodorant and the Degree Dry Spray is great, it definetly delivers, anxiously awaiting the refresh box. I’m so thankful for the email alerts, Liz I finally scored both boxes, yaaa!

  15. I ordered both Target Beauty Boxes and this was the first one to arrive. I gave the deodorant spray and headband to my daughter. She plays sports year around and works out, so I knew she’d love those. So far, I’ve used the BB cushion and the mascara, and I love them both! I used the light color for all-over coverage, and the medium on my cheeks, chin, and forehead. I used the included puff and then blended everything out with my foundation brush and sealed it with a powder I already own. Love the coverage! I wasn’t too sure about the mascara when I first opened it, but I literally look like I’m wearing fake lashes. I did two coats on each eye and they look fabulous! As far as the other products go, I may put them up for my mom, or save them for stocking stuffers, or make some bags for the less fortunate and hand them out. Also, the added $3 off coupon was a nice added bonus. This box well worth the money paid for it, which I used a gift card I had earned on Swagbucks, so I wasn’t really out anything. I hope to use the coupon on next month’s box, but if I miss out on it, I may use it on the mascara.

  16. LOVED this box. My favorite is the Caress body wash, and will be buying the full size. But I love every item in the box.

My daughter also immediately pilfered my headband (black). But she just did another bad job of cutting her bangs, so I’ll cut her some slack. (I offer to take her to the salon, but she declines.)

    • Hi! I have two up for swap!

  17. I have been wearing the headband nonstop! I got the pink and I’m planning (unless anyone wants to sell me theirs) on buying more! The deo was something I wanted to try but I’m not happy with it at all, I’ll be sticking with my stick. Love the target boxes!

    • I have an extra gray one (I ordered two boxes and both came with gray) are you on the swap site? I would be happy to swap you for it as I won’t use both 🙂

      • Would love to swap with you for the gray one; I got two pink.. Under Marie when you look th listings associated with the headbands

  18. I got a purple headband and will definitely be wearing it more to places like work than to work out. 😛 I probably would have bought the headband for $7 anyway, so the rest of the box seems like a bonus.

As a side note, there’s a $1 off any Scrunci product on the back of the headband tag.

    • Oh no I threw it away!

  19. I’m so glad that I went back and ordered a second one of this box! I love all the products and the headbands are perfect for workouts! During Zumba I always felt my old one slipping down toward my ponytail…I was afraid one of these days I was going to see it go flying across the room and land on someone’s head 🙂 Since I got a blue one and a black one, I’ll get a lot of use out of them….this red head doesn’t wear pink! 😉
Target nailed it with these boxes!

  20. I am glad I ordered this box! I wanted to try the BB cushion, mascara and face mask. The headband is a nice change from hair ties and I will be using it for facial masks as well. I got it in blue. I tried the light color of BB cushion this morning over Laneige Water Cream from previous Target box and the color matched with my skin well and I like the feel of it. The sponge they included was the smaller size of what you get in regular size product, so you can sample the real application. I would say the coverage is build-able medium. I will save the medium color for summer.

  21. Love this box. Lots of everyday use items.

My daughter stole the hot pink headband immediately upon opening the box. I got the Attitude 2 in 1 shampoo body wash in an Influenster box last Summer – happy to have more, even if it is a sample. No fragrance so I know my daughter and I can use it without worries.

Love too that the BB cushions sample was a real sample, not a chart and it included more than one shade. Full size deodorant will always come in handy and to top it off, a coupon! Target totally got it right! The only way it could have been better would have been if they threw in some chocolate – You know, to renew our souls! 🙂

  22. LOL I actually wore the headband to work today, I got black.

  23. Still sad I missed out on this box – it was sold out when I tried to buy it.

  24. I ended up getting 2 of the volume &I shine Attitude shampoos instead of one of each, but I’m 100% okay wth that since my finicky hair seems to actually like it! I’ll also be using my headband for face masks ?

  25. This was my first Target box and I loved it. The deodorant will go right in my gym bag but, by far, my favorite thing was the headband. I have been trying to find one that will stay in place during yoga and I think this one will work perfectly! I got tired of buying them in the store just to find out that they slowly slip up my head making me look like I’m a giant mushroom. : )

  26. I wasn’t sure I was going to get this box since I knew right off the bat I couldn’t use the foundation in the color shown on the product picture. But there were so many other things in it I wanted to try I bought it anyway and was super happy to see the foundation sample came in different shades. Good job, Target! Also, the headband in mine is black which was a nice surprise.

Still waiting for my Refresh box to show up~ really excited about that one!

  27. What a good idea for the headband! Maybe it’s obvious, but I didn’t know what to do with mine because I, uh, don’t work out, but I do wear masks 🙂

  28. I am really impressed with the Target beauty box. All my items were totally different from yours Liz but I was pleased with everything.

I also got the Walmart beauty box and agree with everyone about how pitiful it was. I even sent an e-mail complaining. They responded so we will see what happens.

  29. I used my hot pink headband when I washed my face last night! 🙂

I wish the Attitude samples were bigger/actual bottles bc that’s those are the 2 things I was most excited to try. The brand is new to me and love that is an all around good brand in pretty much every way.
But overall, loved both of my Target boxes this rou

  30. What a difference between this and that trainwreck from Walmart. Both of the boxes are inexpensive so I won’t lose any sleep over the inadequacy of the recent Winter Walmart box, but for just $2 more, Target really does blow that box out of the water. I’m very impressed.

    • This is why I’m not sad that I don’t have a Wal-Mart sub. Plus I really don’t need another sub!

      • Sorry, I hit submit accidentally!

I meant that I like to be able to pick and choose on Target’s boxes (I think I’ve skipped one since I started following MSA in August of ’15), though of course that means that if you aren’t fast enough, you’re out of luck. It also means that you can get additional boxes if you like, like the extra women’s box I got at Christmas for my sister and the men’s box I got for my husband, which he loved. I wish I had bought more than one of the curly hair box from October (I think).

  31. I only use headbands to either wash my face or use masques; my hair’s too heavy to use one to workout with.

  32. I love the Target boxes, too! I don’t even care if I occasionally get a dud because they’re so inexpensive. I was glad for the headband, too, since they usually give out so many hair ties. My first thought was that I could use it when washing my face! (Workout??? What’s that? lol)

    • Haha! 🙂

    • I had the same initial reaction – a headband for me to use while washing my face/trying out all these masks! But i did get the Popsugar/Target box so that might be my kick in the you know where to exercise.

I personally am looking forward to trying the Jergens In-shower lotion, along with the Nivea one from the Refresh box. My skin is so dry, especially in the winter, so anything that adds moisture is a plus in my book!

  33. Walmart should be embarrassed.
