Included in my package was a letter explaining a little bit about my item.

How cute is this little info booklet? It speaks to my subscription-addict heart.

NOT ANOTHER BILL JAN 2016 - item 1

Haidee Drew Mirror – value: £26/~$38 USD

I love this mirror! It’s such a cute shape and I want more of them (in other shapes from this artist) to hang on a wall together and make a pretty decorative spot.

The Verdict: I chose this mirror as my first month’s item, so the fact that the value (as a non-EU subscriber) is less than the cost of the box is kind of on me. Looking at the past presents they’ve sent and some other online reviews, I’m pretty interested in the kinds of items they curate. They look like some very interesting and often luxe items, so I’m definitely looking forward to future deliveries when I haven’t chosen the item. I’ll have to see how the value tends to be, especially considering the price discrepancy between EU subscribers and everyone else.

  1. Dear Haley and My Subscription Addiction,

Thank you for ordering from us, we are glad you like what we do. Each month we strive to bring our members something exclusive, original and also worth more than they are paying. Due to the international shipping rates however this is sometimes not possible.

We wish we could offer cheaper shipping to non EU members, but being a small artisanal company we just don’t have the volume yet.

We’d be happy to offer your readers a discount off their first box if you’d like as our whole service is about surprise and discovery.

  2. For one item at that price, why not just buy it??

  3. I used to subscribe to Not Another Bill, but with the conversion of the British Pound the cost became prohibitive. Each month there apparently were three different items that could be picked for you based on your preferences. The first couple of mailings were great, but then I never seemed to get the “best” present that was sent out for that month. I even changed my preferences in the hope that I would get a better item. I usually received things that I had little use for (although they were always well made and high end). I loved the cool design element, that was never an issue. I found by shopping in the store on the site (where a majority of the items offered through the subscription end up eventually), the cost became much less in the long run. If they used Euros instead of Pounds (the cost would be close to the U.S. dollar).

  4. I agree that I’d o or it closer to $30, but $50 is a bit much

  5. I looked at previous months and there are some really cute items that I would love to have…but I can’t get myself to pay nearly $50 for a stapler or tea infuser/tea tin. I wish the price was closer to $30. And that mirror is adorable.

  6. Actually, that mirror makes a pretty cool selfie! 🙂

  7. What a neat box and I’m afraid to see what the cost would be for us Canadians. I love some of the past items a lot!

    • Hey, Kristin! Their website shows 2 different rates: EU subscribers and everyone else. From all the digging I’ve done on their site, I think you’d pay the same as I did!

      • I think it’s the exchange rate for CAD to £ that’s the problem. It comes out to 67 CAD.

  8. I had 2 months of packages from this Not Another Bill and the shipping was a NIGHTMARE! Customer service was great but that didn’t change the fact that shipping took forever…one package never arrived. The package I did get was a cute eyeshade but definitely not worth the price. I get a lot of subscription boxes and for the price PopSugar and Little Lace Box are far superior.

    • Thanks so much for bringing this up, Rita! I meant to say this in the review, but I personally found the shipping to be really surprisingly fast for me! Maybe I got lucky? Maybe they’ve gotten their stuff together a little better for international shipping since your subscription? Since I had a surprisingly great ship time this time, I’m really curious to see if it stays like that or not. Thanks for reading!

      • I forgot to mention the shipping in my comment….I, too, had a couple of issues with shipping, I live in New York. A couple of packages didn’t arrive and had to be replaced, one item came broken one month, and sometimes that month’s items would arrive in a week! No consistency. Customer service is wonderful though.

  9. What a cool box! Can’t wait to see what you get next!

  10. I looked at some of the past presents and this sub just isn’t for me – especially at that price.

Your mirror is cool though and you look great in your selfie. Thanks for the review!
