Ipsy Reveals Are Up for the January 2016 Glam Bag!

I switched to Ipsy when I got bored with birchbox (it seemed like I was just getting the same box over and over, I’d had the subscription so long ?) and so far, the only things I’ve received from Ipsy that I’ve loved are the bags. Every month they list the products and I get all excited because there’s a ton I’d love to try, but none of them are ever in my bag. If I’m lucky I get one or two items I like, but it’s rare. I keep retaking the quiz to see if I can figure out how to get the stuff I’d like, but so far nada. At this point, I’m still getting them because I keep forgetting to cancel the subscription, and I have a bunch of points to use. I usually give the bag contents to my niece, she’s just starting to learn how to do makeup, so this way is actually cheaper than going out and buying a bunch of makeup for her to practice with.
But she doesn’t get the bags, those are super cute, they’re mine.

I’m pretty neutral with this bag. I don’t really love or hate it. I’d probably be happier if I would’ve received the cleansing cloths. I read a review of the Perfect Brow Pomade that said the light brown shade worked better than the dark brown shade for dark brows. I guess I’ll see. Would’ve loved to receive the PEEK Beauty Natural Stain Brow Powder.

For the first time, in one year of getting Ipsy bags, I’m VERY excited to get my bag. Not that my products have sucked, it’s just this is the first bag where I’m excited about more than 2 items to try out. The only “whatever” in this bag, for me, is the mascara (I’m all mascara’d out from all of my sub boxes!) but I can deal with that. LOL.

I’m not terribly excited about this month’s bag as I’m not getting anything I would typically use.
But, I knew after hearing the theme since I’m a mascara and go kinda girl when it comes to eyes. Here’s what I’m getting:

MARSK mineral eyeshadow (won’t use)
OFRA Eyebrow Pencil (definitely won’t use)
Same Smudge Brush as you (won’t use)
Lasting Smiles Peppermint lip balm (probably the only thing I’ll try but chap stick doesn’t exactly get me excited)

This is my 3rd month with Ipsy and the first month I’m getting so much I won’t use so we’ll see how future bags go…

I’m excited about the shadow brush and I really need a new lip balm although I’ve never heard of Lasting Smiles. Of course I’ll always use cleansing cloths.

At first I wasn’t very excited but it looks like the eyeliner is worth $17 and the Pur-lisse serum is $65 for a full size. The sample they show looks to be just under half the full size so the value of this bag is really good.

Signed up in a moment of weakness. As soon as I saw what I am getting I unsubscribed. Pure crap, including an Aveno lotion sample, a City Colors eyeshadow trio, and an Ofra brow pencil. I now remember why I unsubscribed in the first place. Lesson learned…again. Sigh…

Bag twins!!

Same bag except I got the hey honey eye contour cream instead of the purlisse. Not bad at all this month.

I’m getting the Mr. Write(now eyeliner, Pixi by Petra eyeshadow duo in Lavender Bloom (I really like lavender/purple eyeshadows, so that’s good), a Skone Cosmetics smudge brush, Burt’s Bees cleansing oil, and Hanalei Sugar Lip Scrub. I’m not really excited about any of it, but will definitely use it all — so overall, it’s a good bag, not great but not terrible. And I absolutely love the bag itself.

I’m getting the same bag. I’m ok with it except I’ve got the mitchell and peach before from them.

My bag is horrible. City color shadow trio, balm pencil, a shading brush, Tucker Ashley eye cream, and Nourish Organics face moisturizer for dry skin…my skin is oily. Oh well, guess they can’t all be winners

I’m getting the Mr. Write Now, the same smudge brush, and the body cream, too! I’m also getting an eyeshadow trio, and the other eye serum.

I’m happy about the smudge brush and the eye serum, and I can always use more body cream. I have so many eyeshadows and eyeliners already that I don’t see myself ever using these, and the bag isn’t my style.

Overall though, not a bad month!

Omg got mine too I got same except a marsk eyeshadow in gold and I got a peppermint lip balm which I’m stoked for!! Every month I love IPsy every month they make me smile and I get excited for the sneak peeks. They are unbelievably cheap and send quadruple the amount of $ in products! Who doesn’t love IPsy!!!!

I’m getting the same bag! I’m very happy with it! I also am excited that it looks like the eyeliner is full size( if you look at the website it is the same size)
