This month's project is a watercolor calendar! This is the booklet that came in our box this month. I've started doing Doodle Crate with my seven-year-old lately because he has a lot more interest and passion for the visual arts. I'm happy to encourage him - he's pretty talented for his age, too!

Here's a peek inside the booklet at the instructions. The instructions were clear and well illustrated, so they were easy for my son to follow. The booklet also always contains good tips and suggestions for practicing.

These are all the supplies that were included for this month's project. Everything we needed was included except water.

Here are a couple of pages from my son's calendar. He made a snowman for January. June is a couple of people celebrating not being in school or work. It's Fun Time! I don't know how to break it to him that you don't get summers off from work when you grow up!

This is not the prettiest picture in the calendar, but I had to share May with you. This is a picture of the sun warming the earth right before summer hits. Too funny! The summer heat is serious down here, y'all!

This is what the completed calendar looks like (except I'm just realizing I took the pictures before we wrote in the dates). Pretty cool! It turned out so impressive that he's actually going to give it to my brother for his birthday this weekend!

Verdict: Doodle Crate is awesome! My son and I are really enjoying working on these projects together. And so far, all of the completed projects we've made from Doodle Crate are things that are not just fun to make, but also awesome to have. They also continue to make great gifts as we enter our extended family's birthday season! With all Kiwi Crate products, I am consistently amazed by the quality of the materials and the overall value, and Doodle Crate is no exception.
