Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - box

Little Passports: World Edition
3.9 overall rating

Little Passports is a subscription service for children that teaches them all about the world we live in - geography, languages, cultures - via a monthly care package filled with souvenirs. They recently started a subscription service for older children, age 7-12, that focuses on the USA. My nine-year-old has outgrown Little Passports' regular offering, so I decided to sign him up for the USA Edition.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Subscription: Little Passports: USA Edition

The Cost: $12.95 (+$3 shipping = $15.95) per month

The Products: Letter, journals, postcards, and activities to help children learn more about the United States.

Ships to: USA!

Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - postcards

Every month, the USA edition focuses on two states. This month is Nevada and Minnesota! We received a lovely postcard from each state.

Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - activity-book

The main item in each month's package is an activity book with state geography-related games, puzzles and trivia.

This is the same activity book, upside down and backwards! Each state is given half the content of the book.

Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - activity-book-2

Here's a peek inside to see what types of activities you might expect to find. It looks pretty fun, and absolutely packed with information! Little Passports does a great job diversifying the types of activites in different books from month to month, too.

Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - stickers

This is the sticker page for this month. There are stickers to put in the field guide my son received in his welcome package that show each state's bird, flower, flag, etc. There are also map markers for the US map he received.

Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - fish

Little Passports USA also seems to send a papercraft for each state every month. This is a little punch-and-assemble cardboard Minnesota Walleye. Fun!

Little Passports USA Subscription Box Review November 2015 - valley

Nevada's papercraft is a mini-collage of the Valley of Fire sandstone formation. Pretty!

The Verdict: My son is starting to warm up to his Little Passports: USA Edition, even though there are no toys. I think the educational value of this subscription is pretty amazing, actually. This subscription would be absolutely perfect for someone who homeschools their children. For my son, once he actually does the activities provided, he is head-and-shoulders above the kids in his classes on his knowledge of state geography!
