BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. It’s one of our favorite subscription boxes – our dog loves it, and we’ve gifted it to dogs in our extended family as well!

BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the small size (our dog weighs 14 pounds)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The info card no longer includes every item in the box, it only lists the 'Featured Item'. Instead, you have to download their app to find out information on all the items included and the theme.

This month's theme is Holiday.

Please note, I'm using the values from the app.

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon December 2015 - tin and chew

Treat Tin - Value $4

This little treat tin is going to be very useful for us. Our dog loves the Trader Joe's chicken sticks, and they tend to dry out in an open bag - so, hopefully, we can use this tin to combat that!

Lamb Ear - Value $4

Our dog has some issues when chewing rawhide. This will have to be hidden from him and gifted to a fellow dog friend!

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon December 2015 - toy and treats

Bark & Co Original Egg-cellent Gift Dog Toy - Value $10

Our dog only like soft, plush, toys - so this is perfect for him!

Gingerbread Cookies - Value $6

These are Bacon/Gingerbread flavored. I think he likes these. A lot. They're Gluten-Free too, which we need due to some ear infections he used to get when he was on a gluten heavy diet.

BarkBox Subscription Box Review & Coupon December 2015 - jerky and toy

Salmon Jerky - Value $7

Anything jerky-related is a win for this dog. He and I are alike in so many ways.

Flannel Top - Value $9

This flannel toy has a bottle inside for dogs that love crunching on loud bottles. Our dog doesn't, but I know the exact dog this goes to when he comes to visit during the holidays.

Verdict: This month was much better than the last couple months. The value comes to $40, $9 more than the previous two months! I also felt like these are really good picks for our dog, so it was a good month. I'm hoping the value trend continues!

does anyone know what happened to petbox?

I used to like Pet Box. But there is something really weird going on there.

Their website hasn’t been working for months. And if you do a domain registration search, their domain is owned by some company called “Mark’s Value Store LLC.” Which has its own domain, but if you go to *that* web address, it redirects you to an Amazon store page with no pet supplies on it. I can’t find PetBox on social media, either. They appear to be out of business.

Do they offer grain free treats? Also, can you opt for ‘tougher’ toys for the more aggressive chewers?

Theoretically, after signing up, you can email them and ask for the HEAVY CHEWER option. We are going to be trying this for Nyx so you should see some reviews of the large, heavy chewer box soon, for contrast. As for grain free, I don’t remember (I subscribed for awhile last year).

We haven’t gotten ours yet, but have never been disappointed by a Bark box, so I’m sure Oberon will love all the treats and toys this month too.

My girls got their first box yesterday and absolutely loved it!!! I have two black labs and I was afraid the one box wouldnt be enough for them to share but it worked out perfect. Especially since they added an extra toy. I got four months worth for $16 per box, couldnt pass it up.
