Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Info

Each box comes with a fold out card that details the items and brands featured. On each item they also let you know why they picked it for the box.

Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Scrub

Kimberly Parry Organics Sweet Orange & Cranberry Scrub – 2 oz Value $13

I couldn’t find this exact product on their online shop, so I used the foot scrub for value reference. I hope they start carrying this scrub soon! I love the orange and cranberry scent – I think if Thanksgiving was a scrub it would be this!

(One thing to mention – this scrub is on the drier side compared to some scrubes. If you are looking for a non-oily scrub, I recommend it!)

Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Polish

Black Dahlia Nail Lacquer in Red Spike Cactus – FULL SIZE! Value $9.50

This polish, is vegan, 5-free, and I like that Yuzen is featuring indie polish in their boxes. (I believe before they primarily stuck to SpaRituals polish).

The Tea Room Raspberry Rooibos – Sampler

In addition to the chocolate bar below, The Tea Room also included this chocolate sample.

Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Chocolate

The Tea Room Chocolate Fusion Dark Green Earl Grey Chocolate Bar – Value $3.29

I sometimes like dark chocolate (it needs to have a lot of sugar in it), and usually I miss the milk, but this bar is interesting! It’s not a eat-the-whole-bar-in-under-2-minutes type of treat, but that’s probably a good thing! I can definitely taste the tea!

Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Mask

Sanitas Oil Free Moisturizer – 15 ml Value $7.50

This moisturizer is light, absorbs quickly, and is fragrance free! Love it!

Co Pur Facial Scrub + Mask Two-In-One – 1.3 oz Value $10.40

This mask is made with just French Green Clay, Grapefruit Peel Powder, and Camomile Powder. I like the addition of the grapefruit and camomile – it makes a much better scent than straight-up mud masks to me. And this mask is a powder, so it should have a longer shelf life. (You add water to form a paste, then leave it on for 15 minutes).

Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Lotion Bar

Salus Organic Lotion Bar in Lemongrass – FULL SIZE! Value $7.75

This might be my favorite item in the box! I love lotion bars, and the lemongrass scent of this one is great!

21 Drops 18 Sleep Essential Oil Blend – 3 ml Value $10.80

21 Drops makes 21 different essential oil blends that are free of parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, etc.

Sleep fuses the 100% natural essential oils of:
– Palmarosa helps diminish anxiety
– Sandalwood quiets the mind
– Vetiver soothes, helps with relaxation
– Ylang Ylang encourages peace

If you are used to getting lavender scents for sleep products, I think you may like this blend. It is unexpected by relaxing!

Yuzen Beauty Subscription Box Review – Winter 2015 Level

LEVEL Naturals Shower Bombs in Organic Menthol + Cucumber (2 Pack) – Value $4

I sampled the original Menthol shower bombs before and they are STRONG! (Strong like I only used them when I had to clear my sinuses!) I think the cucumber combination helped tone this scent down a little, plus I like the cucumber addition – it gives a spa-vibe!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $67. I think that’s great for this box – and I like the variety of items and brands included too.

  1. I love this box! Yuzen is always one of my favorites, and I like that it’s seasonal and comes just four times a year. Makes it even more special. My husband, kids, and I loved the chocolate bar, and the nail polish looks great on my toes. (And my daughter’s.) Excited to try the rest. <3

  2. I LOVE Yuzen! Not only is it a fellow Colorado small business, but they put so much thought and care into the items in each box, and they make the value really worth it. I’m a HUGE fan of Sanitas products (yet another Colorado biz!), so I loved the oil-free moisturizer. A close second was the 21 Drops sleep scent—heavenly! Keep it up, Yuzen. Your fans are loving you.

  3. This box is amazing!

  4. Yuzen always puts a smile on my face when I receive it. They have the best selection of ‘me time’ spa and skincare products. And the packaging is exquisite! Love the Yuzen paper and the scent when you open the box. It is total heaven!

  5. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE Yuzen. Not sure what the person is saying about customer service being bad. I have only had stellar experiences with Yuzen as they really listen to you when you have an issue. I had to update my CC info as well and had to call in to do this and things went fine.

  6. I used to LOVE Yuzen and the owners were so awesome. But when my credit card expired and I forgot to contact them, they did not contact me and canceled me. When I chatted with them about it, I did not like the response – seemed a little attitude-y and customer blamey- so I dropped it. I noticed I was not using a lot of the stuff. I miss the Japanese papers, though!

  7. Love this box! The sleep oil is wonderful.

  8. I agree Mimi. This is my favorite yuzen box this year.

  9. I absolutely love this box. My only criticism is that it’s not monthly.

    • I completely agree! I love this box and the fact that it is local to me. I would happily pay $25/month if they would switch, especially since I cancelled all my other beauty subs.

      • I’m also in Colorado, so it’s a perfect ABC! (Always Buy Colorado)
