GlobeIn November Box

GlobeIn Artisan Box
4.3 overall rating
250 Ratings | 60 Reviews

The theme for the upcoming GlobeIn November 2015 Box is… Bedroom! More from GlobeIn:

The bedroom is a place of rest and renewal for our most quiet, private selves. It’s the place where we wake out of sleep and that we return to each night, back from the world, to dream and to love and to look in the mirror.

Tucked away from the public, the bedroom is a place that beckons us to soften. Each item in your box is aimed toward enhancing this room’s ability to nourish and revive, to return you to yourself through simple, personal pleasures.

And the latest spoiler is:

Each November Bedroom Box will come with a Handwoven Bowl by Makaua (Mexico). (Retail: $10, colors will vary).

Your bowl is the result of a people tied tightly to a sense of place marrying their innate creativity to nature’s offerings. In the southern mountains of Mexico, this offering is palm, a resource used by the people of the region for centuries. Palm is an incredible natural fiber, flexible enough to weave into intricate designs while still durable and long-lasting. Makaua artisans combine skills inherited from ancestors with their own individual creative visions.

Suggested use: Add color and order to your bureau – use your bowl as a repository for everyday accessories such as jewelry, watches, hair clips, wallets, chapstick, etc.

And in case you missed the first two spoilers:

GlobeIn Spoiler #2

Each Bedroom Box will come with a Handmade Bud Vase from Ten Thousand Villages. (Retail Value: $12).

(Vases will come in the same size and color but in a few slightly different shapes).

Your bud vase represents new beginnings for Tej Bhadur Prajapati from Nepal. Made with a combination of feldspar and other materials imported from India, your vase is the product of his own unique material and technique.

Through his craft, Tej supports the schooling of his two seven year-old twin daughters. Imagine being able to provide for your family while also being the first stoneware leader in your country!

Suggested use: Cast a little spell on your bedroom with the simple mystique of a single flower placed in your vase.

And:

Each Bedroom Box will come with a Seahorse Pillow Pet from Guatemala.
(Retail Value: $22, colors will vary).

In K’iche,’ a Mayan language spoken in the Guatemalan highlands, the word y’abal means “hope.” By creating social programs and fair trade job opportunities for Guatemalan women weavers, Y’abal Handicrafts indeed represents hope for the women, their communities, and their culture.

Silvia Mazariegos is a tailor and designer that helped pilot Y’abal’s Pillow Pet product line. Recently, Silvia’s sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, a disease which has already taken the life of her eldest sister. For Silvia and her family, the pillow pet has indeed become a beacon of hope, especially the GlobeIn order of 1000 seahorses that came at just the right time. The whole family has organized to assist Silvia in the effort of cutting, sewing, stuffing, and assembling the pets, the proceeds of which will cover the sister’s costly path back to health.

Suggested use: Use as a throw pillow to add a splash of color to your bedding.

Got an email yesterday with a link showing everything in the Bedroom box (the link didn’t work yesterday, but it did today for me)-
The last item is a candle (massage oil candle from Ghana). And looks like the Artisan box will have the square baskets.

This doesn’t come close to being as interesting/exciting to me as the laundry box. The items feel random and clutter-y to me. I expected something different based on the theme.

Liz, Regarding Kloverbox, have you reviewed the October? I don’t recall seeing it. Thanks

I received it pretty late, but I should have the review up in the next day or two!

I have to say that I love, love, love Globein boxes every month and can’t wait till they come!!! This month the bedroom theme is right on!!! I love all three spoilers and can use everything!!! I might even order another little pillow so I can give them to my granddaughters!!! They will LOVE them!!! The vase is awesome and I never can get enough baskets and I love that this one is shallow and we are able to use on our dressers or chest!!! I think actually I will give it to my husband so he can put his daily items in it and everything will be easy to find!!☺️?☺️?☺️?Loving it all!

I love the little vase, hoping to swap for it dince i do not subscribe to this box. The stuffed animal is so adorable but i do not have children so it would most likely sit my bed collecting cat hair and dust! Its one of those things that i really want but dont need

Mimi

I can definitely use this.

If I didn’t have big city-small apartment situation, I would have jumped on this subscription. I can’t really do boxes with lifestyle, fashion or home items… They do a good job of sticking to the theme and bring us products from all over the world and I would have never known to find them on my own otherwise. It makes us feel good about subscribing knowing that they are paid fare wage. I think the basket (not this one, but the ones with lids) will make a great holiday gift with items inside. I think this tray will look nice by the bed for lip balm, hand cream, etc. or in the hallway for keys, changes, etc. I always look forward to Liz’s review on this box.

Love this box! I think this and the “Cozy” box will be my favorites since I started subbing! I enjoy receiving items like the mug in last month’s box and the vase in this one. They’re more interesting/useful to me than items in past boxes, like those in the “Laundry” basket or the fabric coasters and bunting.

Well, that made me decide to do it as well. BUT, to ameliorate my guilt, I will not even open the November and December boxes and instead I will wrap them and put them under the tree as a Xmas gift to myself.

Jen

Thank you !!!!

jill

I was on the fence but thanks to your code I signed up- thanks!

I hope there are more spoilers to come because this month’s box missed the mark. I like the vase and the basket is okay. Still trying to figure out why they are sending the “pillow”. I am glad I only have a three month subscription.

And many people have kids. Or use pillows like that for decorating?

Randi

Isn’t there usually 3 items plus the basket in every box? If so, this would be it for this box and there wouldn’t be anymore spoilers

Reply ButtonReply

Renee

On social media they said there would be 5 items total, including the usual basket, so there’s one more item.

nana

Because many people keep stuffed animals on their beds?

Funny bc just the other night I put one of the baskets on my nightstand to hold a few things – it was too tall, but I just needed something – so this will be great for that!

And does anyone know if we’ll get the square baskets for the Artisan Box too? I’m loving those!

Cute! I don’t think it ties in too closely with a bedroom theme, but I’m still happy to have it. Some people might think GlobeIn is crazy for sending another palm basket in their subscription, but I don’t at all see this shallow dish like the ones we receive each month. I could use this in a lot of ways I can’t really use the taller ones, and vice versa. I do wish, however, that GlobeIn had gone a bit deeper with the Bedroom theme. Maybe they will do a “Slumber” theme soon and really knock it out of the park.

Interesting, for me this is definitely a bedroom item. You can put it on your dresser or your night stand (if you have a large one) and use it to keep your keys, phone, etc. I think this would be ideal for my husband 🙂 I love this box, but I’ve already bought too many subscriptions this month 🙁
