Comic Bento is a geek/comic subscription box that sends a surprise selection of graphic novels with at least $60 worth of comics in every box!
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Comic Bento
The Cost: $25 ($17.50 + s/h)
The Products: A surprise selection of graphic novels with at least $60 worth of comics
Ships to: US and Canada
Good To Know: I'm calculating value for each novel based on their sticker value and not from online websites like Amazon.
I wanted to include an extra picture of how they package the volumes - it's all packaged together and backed with cardboard.
The box included a card with some information about each selection this month. This month's theme was Masks.
Captain Marvel: Higher, Further, Faster, More - Value $17.99
I'm starting of with my favorite volume this month - Captain Marvel! I have this saved on my Marvel Unlimited account, so I'm excited to have the push to jump in! I really enjoyed the new line, Ms. Marvel, so I'm hoping I'll enjoy this one as well!
Harbinger: Omega Rising - Value $9.99
This one is new to me, but I'm getting excited reading that it received a "shelfload of nominations". While I have a ton to read on my list - I'm always ok adding another amazing story to it!
Orchid Volume 1 - Value $17.99
I immediately doubled checked to see if it was the Tom Morello that wrote this, and it is!
When the seas rose, genetic codes were smashed. Human settlements are ringed by a dense wilderness from which ferocious new animal species prey on the helpless. The high ground belongs to the rich and powerful that overlook swampland shantytowns from their fortress-like cities. Iron-fisted rule ensures order and allows the wealthy to harvest the poor as slaves.
I'm in! It sounds Hunger Games-ish but with a darker edge, sounds great to me!
Green Hornet Volume 1 - Value $19.99
I haven't read this run of the adventures of Hornet and Kato, so I'm excited to get yet another new run to start - another exciting addition this month! I don't know where to start!
Verdict: This was my favorite month of Comic Bento. I'm excited to read all 4 comics, and it's almost an overload of where to begin - that's a good problem to have! I really like comic subscription boxes for the discovery aspect they bring, and it's even better when I can start a new series with a full volume instead of a single issue, so I'm really enjoying Comic Bento so far!
