My box was missing the makeup bag, but other than that it was great. Didn’t need the dry shampoo since I’ve sampled it in a box recently, but it’s a fun box.

Well, I was soooo excited for this LE box. Unfortunately out of 2 boxes I had 4 items missing. No make-up bag in either, also missing one Ilia lip conditioner and the Tata Harper Repaiative Moisturizer, which was one of the products I really wanted to try. I hope their CS is good!!! So I guess check your boxes and make sure everything is in it!!!

Andrea

Called them this am, and they are sending me a whole new box. Fingers crossed the missing items are actually in this one!!!! So far great CS!!!

My box also had the makeup bag missing. When I ordered the “So Lovely” box, it was missing one nail polish. They ended up sending me an entire box to make up for it. I’m hoping that happens this time too, since Christmas is coming up and I know my sister would love some of that stuff.

Their customer service is some of the best I’ve ever seen. I have no doubt they’ll send out the missing items asap. (Even faster if you’re an ACE.) 🙂

Thanks for the heads up! Bought one as soon as I saw your post. Didn’t even hesitate! With one of the coupons you listed–and $10 in points–the box (with tax) was less than $45! And I thought it was a great deal full price. Love your site, but it is addictive and bad for my bank account (lol).

This looks great and the price seems fair. Don’t blame birchbox if luxury brands are expensive and have high prices. You might think they’re overpriced but birchbox doesn’t decide that. If you consider that you’d pay $10 for a cute little jewelry dish and $15 for a really nice makeup bag, then you are getting a lot of products for the other $40. I can’t be the only person who has bought 4 or 5 drugstore products on impulse and spent that much just to throw away half of it if it doesn’t work.

I *think* I may have figured out the sizes of the products in this box.

It looks like everything is full size except for the 111 Skin eye gel, the Tata Harper moisturizer, and the R+Co dry shampoo.

So I added the prices of all of the other products and came to a total of $146.50. Compared to the full sizes, I *think* the 111 Skin is .17 oz (full size is .5 oz), which makes it worth $64.60 (!), the Tata Harper looks like it’s about .5 oz (full size is 1.7 oz), which would be $29.41, and I think I remember the R+Co dry shampoo being 1.7 oz (full size is 6.3 oz), so it’d be worth $7.83.

That brings a total value to $248.34, which is very close to their stated value of $255. So I imagine I’m pretty close with my size guesses.

Actually that R+Co is the full “travel” size- so it is a retail value of $18

REALLY curious about the Oribe size. It looks about the same size as the Rituals which is about 2-3 oz I think? So maybe travel size? Although why wouldn’t they state that like they did for R+Co…

Tamara

The Rituals is 1.7 oz (it’s one of the few items on which you can actually see the size), which seems about right for the Oribe.

Anna

The nail polish alone has me hooked. I have been wanting to try them but cannot justify a $18 polish. I use dry shampoo all the time and travel all the time, so I will definitely use it, and like trying new brands (even though the very best I’ve tried costs $5 at Walmart!). I love that they included a piece for your jewelry, which I can certainly use. And a gilded gold eye pencil? With the holidays right around he corner?! Of course I’m in. This is what I’ve been saving my points for all year = $2 with mystery pack. Merry Christmas indeed 🙂

Tamara

Their Facebook post said there would be two more LE holiday boxes. I’m going to wait to see those before making a decision.

But the more I look at this, the more I want this one – especially at 20% off.

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

Anyone know what size the Tata Harper moisturizer is?? I know it’s not full size but I can’t tell how much from the small picture.

Sarah

I feel like I’m in the minority, but I think this is an incredible box! I’m really a fan of things that can work for every-day, and I think this box is just that: every item is pretty neutral, to appeal to most tastes. Nothing is a crazy color or “out there.” I’m really considering picking it up. I have $10 worth of points, plus an extra $10 off with a code, making this $42. I’ve been dying to try the Smith & Cult nail polish brand since it was featured in the PopSugar Fall 2015 SE box. I’ve read that the formula lasts pretty well. I do wonder when they’ll release the Home box, though. 🙂

I will buy eventually. Maybe after payday, or if they have a good points offer on Black Friday. I doubt it will sell out before then.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

Same here. I’m waiting for Black Friday for them to sweeten the deal with points and such, hopefully if I have some more cash at the time. I like what’s in it but don’t HAVE to have it. If the deal is good enough, I might buy one for myself and my sister; otherwise, I might buy one for her as a gift and keep the mystery sample pack.

Elise

Ugh, I’m on the fence, it’s a great looking box but I wont use all of the products and I’m not sure I want to spend all my points on it! Does anyone know if this is considered the holiday box or do you think there will be another one later in the month?

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

I was wondering if it was the holiday box too, so I looked on the website. There’s a video you can click on the box page (it has Rachael in it) She said there’s three limited edition boxes. This one, a home one, and one for men. So I guess this is it. I’ve been saving up my points for months for this one, and I have to say its kind of a let down compared to last year’s Vanity Affair. Its a good box, but nothing is tempting me. Hopefully they knock the home box out of the park! I’ve got enough points where I can probably get a couple of those at no cost.

Reply ButtonReply

Gabby

Oooh I wonder when the home box is coming out! Those are always my favorite.

Elise

Thanks for the response! I’ve only gotten into Sub Boxes this year so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I feel the exact same way about this box, it’s nice but doesn’t WOW me. I actually like the Glamour LE box that came out last month a lot more than this one. But it’s so hard for me to turn down a Birchbox Limited Edition box. UGH! Wonder when the home box will be available to purchase. I may wait on this one and see how that one looks.

mimi

Got one using the takealeap20 code for 20% off, and had enough points to get the box and the mystery sample pack for FREE!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Wow that looks very expensive for $65! It looks like a lot of sample sizes.

Reply ButtonReply

Monica

I agree! For $35 more I can have a Popsugar LE, or something comparable…. Pass.

Reply ButtonReply

Britt?

Just thinking the exact same thing!! Way overpriced, for samples! I’ll pass and use that $65 at Sephora? (20% off everything sale) or PS LE Box..?

Mary H-W

I have to agree. As of late, the LE Boxed that Birchbox has offered, are much too expensive for what is inside. If I am paying $65, there should be lots of full size products that I will look forward to using. Not sample size products I am not even sure if I will use. Hoping they will pull together some tried and true products and offer a $25 or less box that is actually worth the price (not overly inflated quoted prices).

Reply ButtonReply

Lauren

That hand cream is addicting by the way. I’ve used almost all of it from the Allure box.

Reply ButtonReply

Ramona

Had to get this! Only had $10 worth of points oh well but I didn’t want to risk it being sold out while I gatgered more! TAKEOFF10 worked for me — thank you! Also the free mystery sample pack of course so everything was $45…. Don’t need the dry shampoo but oh well! Everything else looks great !! Thanks Liz!

Reply ButtonReply

Brooke

Birchbox LE boxes almost never sell out, just fyi. On the other hand they never go on sale either so I guess there’s no point waiting around 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Ramona

Darnit I should have waited for more points to accumulate, then. Sigh. Thanks for the info!

Tamara

I need to find out what size the 111 Skin eye gel is! It can’t be full size (0.5 oz), since that’s $190. (!!!)

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

Got it! Takeoff20 worked! Thanks Liz 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

The nail polish and candle look lovely but I just don’t need anything else 🙁 I will skip this, cute box but not needed! Hopefully they have more!

Reply ButtonReply

Michelle

Just ordered one for only $23 using a discount code and $30 in points! Got a free mystery sample pack too! 🙂
