Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - info

The theme for Juneberry's inaugural box is "Little Red Riding Hood - With an Autumn Twist." This month, instead of simply listing out the contents and their values on their info card, they wove the items into a re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood, but with a better ending. Fun!

Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - cookies

Cookie Cutters - Value $6

(I'm taking their word for it on the value listed for these.) Cookie Cutters! How cute! I don't think I've used cookie cutters since I was a kid. Plus this recipe for Butterscotch Apple Cookies looks delicious. Unfortunately I never have time to make anything from scratch, but I might try these out with a tube of pre-made dough.

Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - headband

Red Knit Headband - Value $12

I don't think I've ever had a headband like this, but it sure looks cozy! Perfect timing, too, as it's starting to get pretty chilly here.

Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - necklace

Astray Pendant Necklace - Value $16

This is my favorite item in the box this month! This is so pretty!

Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - necklace-2

Here's a closer look at the pendant. I just love it!

Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - soaps

Artisan Soap Leaves by Daisy Kay - Value $7

I love these leaf soaps, too! They have a warm and spicy fragrance, and they're really beautiful. I'm a big fan of paper soaps, but these are a little thicker.

Juneberry Subscription Box Review October 2015 - nail-polish

Essie Magnetic Nail Polish - Value $11

I received this exact nail polish in a subscription box a year ago, and these magnetic nail polishes are a lot of fun. Fortunately I really liked this one, and it's a great color for fall.

The Verdict: I really like this month's Juneberry box! I think I will use everything in the box (except maybe the recipe). I also really like how everything adheres to the theme of the box so well, and it has such a cozy autumn feel to it. The value of the items comes to about $52, which is great for a $28.50 box.

Love that the curation holds a “fall” theme and the necklace is pretty but how does any of this empower women?

I liked everything in this box, too. My recipe was just like Anna’s, although I think a handwritten one would have been charming. I’m intrigued by the headband as I have long, straight hair and usually just use a scarf wrapped around my head Russian-immigrant circa 1900 style in the winter. Although I have tons of nail polish (a serious addiction) I actually don’t have any magnetic ones, so I’m anxious to try this one.

I received this box.. i want to love it but i have to say as pretty as the necklace is, its very light and plasticy feeling. I think the polish may be old unfortunately-i added on another polish that’s also pretty but again, may be an older polish. The headband i also ordered as an extra also has a cheap plastic feel to it. For some reason my recipe came handwritten on a white recipe card -small detail i know but it seemed odd, especially after the reviews I’ve seen all look neatly done when its a bloggers box.
The headband is cute, not the softest wool, kind of feels cheap as well.
i so want to love this sub, there’s so little for us in Canada but this one just didn’t cut it for me. It looks so much better quality than it is. The soap leaves smelled amazing- i had no idea they’re actually material leaves just dipped in glycerin!
Sorry, i hate to sound so negative, I’m just not sure this is as awesome as it appears in pictures. ..

Also, the subscription price listed here ($28.50/mo.) is in CAD. The current USD cost to subscribe is $21.38 (cheaper with longer commitments).

For anyone worried about value inflation, those values listed are in Canadian Dollars (CAD). That brings the total value of the box down to about $39.44 USD. Some values may still be inflated, but what box doesn’t do that? 😉 What matters to me is that it’s a cute and creative curation that I wouldn’t have to spend an ounce of my time (which also has value) shopping and bargain-hunting for. I’m putting this box on my watch/wish list.

Wow, what an interesting box. It’s unique compared to what’s already out there! Juneberry peeps, if you’re reading this, please offer a good deal on Black Friday for like a 3-month sub!

You haven’t used cookie cutters since you were a kid? I use them ALL THE TIME! I have dozens and dozens. (I don’t have one shaped like a house, though. I do, for some reason, have many random dinosaurs. I once took gingerbread squirrels and pink flamingo sugar cookies to a holiday party. Just because I could.)

Gingerbread squirrels? I think love you!
