Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription box. They make all their own products, so subscribers get a good value each month – over $40 retail worth of product for $24.99 a month.

And, if you sign up for 3-months up front, you get the $19.99 rate.

Each month Julep releases a new collection on the 20th, and you can decide which box you want, you can upgrade to the entire collection, or you can skip that month.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

This box came with a fold out sheet detailing their latest beauty item - the creme-to-powder shadow stick.

Julep Nail Color in Arielle – Retail Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Jocelyn – Retail Value $14

Arielle is a "smoked fig creme" and Jocelyn is a "cranberry shimmer with holographic microglitter." I like them both, but I think Jocelyn is my favorite this month - it just feels so festive!

Here are both swatched from Julep:

Julep Eyeshadow 101  Creme-to-Powder Eyeshadow Stick in Stone - Retail Value $18

I picked out the stone shade, and I love how neutral/wearable it is! (Swatched below). The formula has a matte finish (they have shimmer versions as well), and the formula is highly pigmented and stays in place. I noticed very little creasing, and the application stick and smudger ends made it super easy to apply.

I will definitely buy this in more shades. This may be my favorite Julep beauty product to date!

Verdict: This is one of my favorite Julep Maven boxes. I love both of my nail polish colors, and the eyeshadow stick is a great discovery. (Plus I'm a sucker for Candy Corn!) What do you think of the October 2015 Julep Maven box? Which items did you pick this month?

Tried it and I like it. I am so cheap that I can’t justify buying more and more nail polish I won’t use frequently.

Thank you for another great review! I may have to finally break down and subscribe to this box…Liz, or any other Julep subscribers, do you know if I can still get the October box if I sign up in the next few days?

Sadly, the candy corn wasn’t vegetarian (some kinds are, but this one had gelatin — I do appreciate that they include an ingredients list). My fiance ate it instead. I got three polishes because I didn’t want eye makeup this month: Sherri, Jocelyn, and Paulina. I may still go for some of the eyeshadow sticks around Black Friday but right now I’m just not feeling it.

I couldn’t resist, I got all 6 eye shadow sticks. Can’t wait to get my box!

I was a bit hesitant about trying the eyeshadow sticks since I’ve tried similar products in the past and had some major issues with creasing and melting. But I do like their eyeliner, which stays put very well. I swapped mine out this month, but I’ll probably grab some now that I’ve seen the review.

I got the stone color as well. I love love the color and how it goes on. I’m getting the rest of the colors. This is like the best eyeshadow.

In the Julep picture, the stone color looks like a medium gray but in Liz’s swatch, it looks more medium brown/taupe… how would you describe it?

I ordered a lot this month — if I remember correctly, most of the polishes and 2 of the eyeshadows. No question: I’m a Julep Junkie.
