Isle Box Subscription Review October 2015 - info

This is the information card that came in the package, detailing the items enclosed. I like their packaging a lot, and I LOVE that their filler material is dried moss! How clever and eco-friendly!

Isle Box Subscription Review October 2015 - battery-pack

Power Practical Lithium 4400 - Value $30

When I get out into nature, I try really hard to be unplugged. It's a wonderful idea. The reality, however, is that camping and backpacking come with a set of hazards that are not always possible to avoid. My husband and I are responsible for not just ourselves, but two children as well. It's the 21st century, and I can and should have a phone on me to call for help if needed. If I only use my phone as needed, this battery pack could allow us to be out in nature for up to a week or maybe longer! It's very lightweight and also has a handy built-in lantern.

Isle Box Subscription Review October 2015 - towel
(picture from Amazon)

OutGo Microfiber Towel - Value $25 (on sale at Amazon for $16.65)

(Somehow I failed to get a picture of the towel - mine looks just like this except brown.) Towels are a huge space-waster in camping and backpacking scenarios. I can't believe how tiny, lightweight and compact this little guy is! This is perfect. I can't wait to try it out!

Isle Box Subscription Review October 2015 - bivvy

SOL Emergency Bivvy - Value $17

I will never go hiking again without this. This is an emergency sleeping bag that reflects 90% of your body heat back to you, is rain and wind-proof, and weighs 3.8 ounces. How amazing is that?

Isle Box Subscription Review October 2015 - gear-tie

Night Ize Gear Ties - Value $6.50

I have to admit, I'm not 100% sure what to do with these. I think when the time comes, we will know and be glad we have them. They are rubber on the outside with a strong, flexible wire inside.

Isle Box Subscription Review October 2015 - blister-medic

AMK Blister Medic - Value $1?

This link is to a 24-pack, so I'm guessing on the value of a single. I am the champion of getting painful blisters on the trail! It will be great to have this pack on hand.

The Verdict: This was another great package from Isle Box! We will absolutely use everything in this box, I'm sure. The combined value of the items comes to about $79 ($71 for sale prices), which is excellent for a $45 box. We are at the beginning of outdoor adventure season in my family, and all this wonderful gear will make our experiences so much easier and safer!

You are at the BEGINNING of your outdoor adventure season? I thought it was supposed to be summer but your family must be pretty tough or winter warriors?! I am an “adventurer lite” but many of these items are great for those of us who love to travel. The variety, thoughtfulness and multipurpose angle of this subscription makes it a good value. Thank you for your review.

Lol, thanks nursermk! We live in the deep South; it’s too hot to do outdoors stuff in the summer! It’s just now cooling off. We camp in the fall and spring, but we can hike and get out into the great outdoors October through May pretty much any time.

I am so not an outdoors person. But I really like microfiber towels. I have a bunch of them that I just use as regular towels around the house. They don’t take up much space in the linen closet and I like the texture/feel of them better.
