Am I crazy or was the link to pick your sample/box not on there? I emailed Birchbox and they never responded. When I looked later the link was there but the box I wanted was sold out 🙁 Also I think there was only one sample choice left.

I never even got an e-mail. I contacted them last night and received an e-mail requesting I list my choice. I asked for the Power Pose box but that was before I saw the comments on here that it was sold out.
They sent me an e-mail never acknowledging the curated boxes (II had noted that the option for curated boxes is what pushed me over the edge to resubscribe) but listing the mascaras as available with a note that the window of availability was closing in minutes. I saw this about 45 minutes after it was sent.
Does this happen often? Is it common for them to run out of curated boxes or sample choices? I stopped subscription to them previously because I didn’t like what they sent before.

After seeing the spoilers for October I decided to hive Birchbox a second try (cancelled in 2013). I tried the coupon but used my original email so it didn’t work. I guess I am not a new customer even with a more than 2 year absence. :-). I never got an e-mail link. Checked account and it looks as if I am getting a September random sample box (does that sound right)?. So, I sent them an e-mail. Noting I decided to resubscribe after all this time based on the curated box option. I have not heard back but after checking these comments it looks like I will be out of luck. I wish I knew the boxes were up for sale without subscribing. I would have just purchased it that way.
So far, this may be a short resubscription

The extra box power pose box costs $10 plus $5 shipping, is that correct?

Both of the Benefit mascara were out of stock when I tried to make my selection. So I went with the Eyeko black magic 🙂 I’m excited for that one too. And, since I wanted to try the Roller Lash Mascara, I went ahead and bought it for $24 along with a delux of the They’re Real mascara for $12. I used my 20% off any item coupon for being on my third month membership and also used my Birchbox points. So I only ended up paying $8 plus tax, total $11.20 ? OOHH, and since my initial order was $36, I’m also getting the $10 dollar Mystery Box for free!! 😀

Forgot to mention that my items had free shipping 🙂 Probably because the Benefit mascara are feature items this upcoming month.

I’m not an Ace and by the time I got my email today both of the curated boxes and the Stila mascara were sold out :/ Really not happy about that – I was very much looking forward to the Estee Lauder items.

The 5BOX code was not working when I tried to use it this morning 🙁

I feel like I’m drowning in mascara and I didn’t like the curated choices so I chose to be surprised this month!

I just did mine and both the Roller Lash and They’re Real are out! Roller Lash was my first choice but I’ve heard good things about the Stila so I’m excited to try it!

I chose the Game Face curated box!! All options are still available except Benefits They’re Real mascara which I already have a sample of and IMO it’s not good. It’s clumpy and no volume.

Still plenty of choices left!?

I’m an Ace and I never received the email.

I’m an Ace too and I never get emails about this stuff, I feel like I am missing something else to get the options….

The site is still showing September and not giving me the option to make a choice. I just sent them a message.

I picked The Stilla Mascara and I bought the power bose one…Well, it’s sounds like I’m getting to boxes this month !!! Couldn’t resist !!!

Nothing caught my eye. This is the first time I am not going to select something.

Lori

I was intrigued by the Darphin so I went with the Power Pose box.

the girl at Ulta says the Stuka mascara is the best new mascara just FYI
I love the Eyeko but chose the Stila since she raved about it

Thanks for the reminder! I chose the Roller Lash (STILL haven’t tried it!), and also picked up the Power Pose box and a few extras with my points.

I was bad….I chose the game face box and then promptly purchased the power pose box from the birchbox shop for $10 haha I couldn’t help myself! They both look so good 🙂

The curated boxes didn’t appeal to me, but I need a new mascara, so I picked the Roller Lash. Excited!!

When I went to make my selection the options available were the sample choices from September. Everything was grayed out as well.

Super bummed was really looking forward to the roller lash mascara. I contacted customer service

That happened to me too. I hit refresh and then the correct October choices came up.

Did you use the personalized link in the email from Birchbox? Not last month’s email, had to be a new one that came today.

If you did, and it still didn’t work, contact Birchbox customer service, tell them about the issue, and let them know your choice. They should be able to reserve it for you.

I did use the personalized email they sent me. Right abover the drop down box it even says October sample choice. So weird. I took a screen shot of it. Wish I could upload it here to show you guys

Ragan

Oops, I see that you already did contact CS. Guess I should read a bit more carefully!

rebeca

how do I use my birchbox points to buy one of the featured boxes?

Carolyn Pannone

I got the Game Face box. I swear by the origins checks and balances and smash box primer so they will be great for travel

Reply ButtonReply

Janelle

Got the Power Pose box but did notice that they also had the eyeko mascara which they didn’t originally say would be a choice.

Dom

I’m going for the Power Pose box! I’ve really been wanting to try Darphin products and this seems like a great opportunity to.

Reply ButtonReply

Amber

I wonder how many ounces the sample will be. I just checked the price of the Darphin, and WOW! I was impressed. I bought two boxes!

Reply ButtonReply

Dom

How do you buy another box? Do you have to sign up for a new account?

I’ve done some checking, and it looks like the sample size will probably be 5ml. That’s the size of the deluxe samples of this product that I’ve found online. With the full size being 50ml, if we do get a 5ml sample it would be worth approximately $29.50. It seems it might be about the same size as other similar high end skincare samples.

Liz Cadman

I got that as one of my boxes. I looked up the price of that Darphin cream and decided that I needed to try that sample! 🙂

Dom

I’ve heard great things about Darphin! I can’t find any place around me that sells it locally. With high end skincare, I usually like to check it out before committing to a full size. I have a high sensitivity to certain scents, so that’s usually one of the things I like to check out first.

Lori

Still haven’t made up my mind yet on what to pick. I just got the Benefit They’re Real mascara as a free sample at Ulta and have a Lorac sample macara as well. Maybe I’ll pick one of the curated boxes this month.

Brooke

The only mascara that I haven’t tried is the Stila. I went with the Power Pose box since I wanted to try both the cream and the serum – and I know I like the Chubby Sticks.
