Blessing Bag (Ghana) by ABAN – Value $12
(Subscribers will receive one of multiple fabric patterns). This bag is so much more than I was expecting from the spoiler pictures. I love the pattern I received, and the details are great too:
The zipper has a recycled glass bead pull and the lining is made with recycled plastic:
And it has an inner pocket too! The plastic lining is great for makeup spills, and it gives the bag more structure than your typical makeup bag.
Eye Pillow (Peru) – Value $13
This eye pillow is filled with dried lavender and smells wonderful. I'm going to store this in the linen closet when I'm not using it to keep everything smelling lovely!
Baobab Powder (Benin) 5.75 oz – Value $10
If you aren't familiar with Baobab Powder, here are the benefits (from Atacora's site):
Great source of whole food Vitamin C
Prebiotic soluble fiber to nurture beneficial microflora in the digestive tract
Insoluble fiber (roughage) aids digestion
One of the best plant sources of calcium and potassium
A raw, vegan and gluten-free functional food
High per serving antioxidant capacity: ORAC=650/gram
I've sampled Baobab powder before thanks to subscription boxes, and I've enjoyed it in smoothies, so I'm happy to have more!
Watsi Gift Card - Value $5
If you aren't familiar with Watsi:
Watsi, based in San Francisco, connects medical patients who can't afford the procedures they need with donors via the Web. The funds it collects go entirely to the patients, as the organization's own costs are covered separately. - The WSJ
In addition to providing subscribers with $5 to donate as they choose, GlobeIn is also donating 50% off all profits from the Wellness Box to patients on Watsi. I think this is such a wonderful collaboration.
After you donate to a patient, you'll see this message:
Palm Leaf Basket – Value $12
Each box comes with some of the contents packaged in a palm leaf basket. (I think I get a different color each month – they’re great for storage).
Verdict: As always, this is a feel-good box since it supports fair trade practices around the world, and the Watsi addition this month was great. I'll use all the items too - so this is a win-win-win box for me!
