I got my box today, and I’m not really sure what to think. I still like the types of products that BeautyFix sends (for the most part), but when I was opening my box today, I had to double check that I received everything on the product card. Compared to past BeautyFix boxes, these samples are tiny! They feel like things I’d get from Birchbox…except it’s 3 times the price (after tax) and only double the amount of samples. I’ll either go ahead and cancel or limit it to one more month.

I cancelled when I saw the spoilers. It seems BeautyFix is going to be playing a game of good boxes/bad boxes. So I figure I’ll have to resubscribe when they have a good box and cancel afterwards.

The phloretin cf smells like a lit match. Is this normal?

Cathy

The BB cream supposedly works for all skin types, but it was super dark on me. When I tried to use less, it dried on my skin before I could even spread it around. I’m not sure I can successfully use this product.

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

Which shade of the BB cream is it? Thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Cathy

From what I understand, there is only one shade. I tried applying it with a brush (and a lot less product) and it looked better.

I’m more or less happy with the box but it is not as good as last month but I guess they had to do something for that July debacle. I love that this box is based around skincare and hair but those tiny little samples, puhleeze!! I would rather just have one more larger size instead of three tiny samples. I ALWAYS give these away. There isn’t enough product to try to know if the product is great or not. I thought I would get rid of this box but I think I’m going to keep due to it’s the only one that is centered around skin and hair care. Birchbox is definitely on the chopping block, I’m over them and I seem to get the same or better products in BeautyFix.

I guess I’m weird but I LOVE little samples! They always last longer than I think they will and it takes me a while to finish them – probably b/c I keep switching which I know I shouldn’t do so much. (But I hate foil packets!)

Michele

I am weird, I like the small sizes as well, so many times i find myself tired of a product and regret the full sized purchase.

Mary

Just got my box. I liked almost everything — or at least, I like the opportunity to try all the stuff, don’t know if I’ll like it or not yet. 🙂 I think the $27 value is there for sure and I like getting a box that isn’t centered around makeup. However, I’ll probably cancel because I have too many boxes (can anyone relate, lol?) and I have to start pruning my list. With the holidays coming up, I need to free up some room in the budget for those holiday palettes and LE boxes I know I’m going to want. Oh, the delight and horrors of being a beauty product junkie! 😀

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

What kind of palettes and LE boxes do you like to get?

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

I just signed up for the first time for 50% off. I wonder if I will get the September box? I LOVE trying skin and hair products as most of them work for me. Only one thing concerns me…the company doesn’t ask for our hair or skin type. This would be very useful!

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

it is not a customized box, the same box is sent to everyone !

Reply ButtonReply

Kelly

I’m excited to get this box! Not as good as the August box , but I’m curious to try, might find something new!

Reply ButtonReply

Helen

I am so glad I canceled and feel much less guilty about having done so. I have subscribed and canceled quite a few times at this point. This month would have been an epic fail for me. There isn’t one product I would use.

Reply ButtonReply

Michele

I am so tired of getting sunscreens, I think they are just cheap fillers, the same with the hair products. I have alopecia, so the hair products last month went to waste. I think the rest of the products are usable, even though I just bought some MAC foundation.

Reply ButtonReply

Julia

I feel that ways too, since all of my BB or CC creams already have SPF and I don’t like to layer too much on my oily skin. It would be nice if we could set some preferences as to the type of products we receive.

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

Sunscreens aren’t cheap! That one is almost $20 for one ounce.

I love getting SPF in boxes because I use it every day and it often costs more than I want to spend.

Reply ButtonReply

bunnygirlbrem

Sunscreens I don’t mind getting, especially small sizes. They’re super-handy for keeping in the car, purse, school bags, etc. I’m tired of one-color-fits-all-skin-tones creams. No, no they don’t — not if you’re on one end of the spectrum!

For the most part this month looks good. Looking forward to trying some new things, I love the Avene brand, and will try anything to keep my frizz to a minimum. Will probably cancel after, I for no other reason than I’d like to buy a couple holiday LE boxes.

I am so excited that I am going to get one in just a few minutes. I bet that I will use every product in the box. Being just over 50, these are great anti-agers, the retinal is always a Blessing, and at this price, I wish I could get 2! I can never have too much sunscreen.

Jessica

I am really glad I cancelled. I just haven’t been thrilled with this box the last 3 months. I really liked the first couple of boxes I got, but honestly… they just seem to have gone downhill after that. :\ I had really high hopes for this sub service too.

Reply ButtonReply

Miccarty

Exactly how I feel. Good for my budget though I guess. But wish there had been more months like the box with the DHC.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

I signed up for this sub in July because of the amazing boxed everyone had been posting. We all know July was pretty much a dud, and then August rocked my socks. Now this? I’m not impressed. If every other box is going to be lackluster, I’m wondering if I should cancel, then sign up again every other month to avoid the less than stellar boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

nana

I decided to unsubscribed. Nothing wowed me and I have too much stuff anyway. Plus I just got two DermStore mystery bags that I was fairly pleased with.

Reply ButtonReply

Cassie

How do I order the sept box? when i click the link I only see the August Box???

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

I don’t think the September box is available for sale yet – I’ll post when they open up subscriptions!

Reply ButtonReply

Flubs

It’s up now. I just went to the website because I wanted to see how much it is. They’re also offering some kind of sale where your boxes after the 1st will be $25. I think I might take advantage of that… maybe lol.

Samantha

I’m reserving judgement til it’s in my hands. I’m not immediately impressed like I was with August. The reviews on the bb cream are very mixed so I’m hoping that it works for me. I’m always impressed with the value of this sub so that’s at least a hit once again.

Alisa

These are not the most exciting boxes for me, but I normally get the most use out of products in them. Also when talking about beauty, skin care really gets expensive when you’re trying different products, so I’m always happy with this box. I don’t even mind the perfume samples because you normally get a decent amount of items with beautyfix.

It’s really hard to see the perfume but I’m pretty sure it’s summer rain by raw spirit. https://rawspiritfragrances.com/shop/summer-rain

The products in this month’s box are top notch, some are even my HG skin care favorites. I’ve used a lot of them and I’m happy to receive more! I wish the products were all full sized instead of tiny but for the price I’m happy.

Reply ButtonReply

heat7918

I’m with Jackie, Hidol and Ragan – I think this box looks great! But I even kind of liked July. 🙂 I’m just loving trying all these new-to-me skincare products! I want samples so I can try more and not waste a bunch of full products until eventually I find my holy grails!

Reply ButtonReply

Mary Beth

I like the NIA. I might like the Avene, the Jane Iredale, the Occitane Soap. Once again, I bet the BB Cream doesn’t work for my skintone, but maybe… I don’t think the Shine Spray sounds too exciting. I would have liked the Phloretin if I hadn’t read Paula’s review. I don’t think I need the lemon skin scrub – I have a ton of nice cleansers already thanks to this box!

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

I think I am happy with this. No pink polish or Harvey Prince!

Also, the Jane Iredale sample is small, but only a little smaller than a lipstick mini. I use mine (from Birchbox?) only as a cheek stain, maybe once or twice a week, have been doing so for a few months and have about half of it left. (Of course I’m pale so I don’t need to use much for it to show.) And they usually smell very good!

Reply ButtonReply

Hildol

I’m really happy with this box 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

IF the BB cream is full size then this is awesome! If not 🙁 already paid so I don’t get a choice now

Reply ButtonReply

JackieNiko

I guess I am the odd ball out. I like this box. I have wanted to try that Jane Iredale stain since it was in BB. I have considered buying it. Happy that I can try it first. I LOVE BB creams. A lot of the other items get good reviews too. I also like hair and skin stuff over makeup so that may be why I like this box so much.

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

I love that stain! That’s the only thing tempting me to subscribe, though. Meh, maybe another box.

Reply ButtonReply

Britney

Oh wow. This looks like a joke compared to last months. So glad I decided to cancel in the meantime.
It seems like they have good boxes every other month.

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa

So Glad I cancelled this month. After they started selling the boxes for 1/2 price and not doing anything for long term subscribers, I started losing interest… It’s too bad…

Reply ButtonReply

stacy

How did you cancel? I looked on my account page but couldnt find anywhere that gives me the option. Do I just have to email?

Reply ButtonReply

Meagan

I sent them an email to cancel. I didn’t have to call.

Lisa

Yeah I had to call, but they were super nice and efficient, no hassles whatsoever. They have great customer service if nothing else.

Michelle

You have to call them. The number is 1.800.213.DERM (3376).

kerri

Just an fyi-those Jane Iredale lip and cheek stain samples are tiny. Like tge size of a pencil eraser tiny.

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

I like that about them (the size) as they fit into any pocket and the smallest purse while out for the evening.
