Monthly Express Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Package

They do a great job with the packaging - and I'd say that's expected for a $129-a-month box!

Monthly Express Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Info

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included:

Monthly Express Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Scrub

BodyBliss Bamboo Cooling Gel Polish - Value $32.95

This scrub is made without any artificial colors, artificial fragrances, parabens or phthalates! It has a refreshing minty scent, and unlike some scrubs that are made with sugar, this one has scrubbing beads. It didn't leave my skin moisturized/oily like some scrubs, but it didn't dry it out either - and it did leave my skin feeling super soft.

Monthly Express Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Oil

BodyBliss Tranquil Vibrational Body Oil - Value $24.95

This body oil is made with only natural and organic ingredients - and it even has clear quartz crystals mixed in! I like the scent and the formula - I may need to check out some of their other scents now.

Alixx Fleur de Lagoon H07 Candle - Value $30?

I couldn't find this exact candle for sale online, but the larger size retails for $50, so I'm thinking the $30 estimate is pretty accurate.

I like the fresh water-inspired scent of this candle, and the vessel itself is gorgeous too:

(That Alixx sticker is removable).

The glass is handblown in Belguim and designed to capture air bubbles throughout.

Monthly Express Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Erbe

Erbe Acqua Di Neroli Tonic Water - Value $56

(I couldn't find this online, but it is available via the Monthly Express shop section). The ingredient is short (just Neroli distilled water and essential oils), and according to the info card, the tonic water is made with organically-grown orange blossoms. I like the scent, but I don't get a citrus vibe from it - to me it smells more earthy.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $144. Ideally I'd like the value to be higher on a $129 box, but I am very impressed with the curation and luxe feel of this box. I like that they sourced some items you can't buy in the US, and the BodyBliss line is a new-to-me brand I am so happy to have discovered!

What do you think of the August 2015 Monthly Express box?

too high price for value in box. I expected to be wowed not given a candle “special water” etc. they have to up their game considerably before i’d bother even considering buying

Looks like nice stuff but am always concerned about products with scrubbing beads. If they are not biodegradable, would be a big miss for me. The price point is a little high, but if everything is used I think it is close to the stated value. I would love to smell the Erbe water, it sounds lovely.

Agree. Lots of environmental concerns with the scrubbing beads and sea life.

Hi Rebecca, I haven’t decided yet how I feel about the oil. It does have a nice inspiring (minty or eucalyptus) aromatherapy scent. But these days, I’m not into that. But I AM an absolute body oil lover! I’m still debating.

Let me know. I love all these items. Wish I could afford the box.

This feels totally like a Liz box.

I think the products are nice enough but not what I think of as luxe. To me that would be skin care lines from Le Mer (the night cream is worth every penny) and La Prairie. Or even Clarins. Compared to the $100 cost of the Rachel Zoe box, this doesn’t meet my criteria for value or luxury. Even Oui Please included a lot more, mostly higher end products for just $20 more (at least the first 2 boxes did anyway). I don’t mind the price since I sub to several monthly boxes over $100. I just want a better value.

If you go to ME’s shop online you can find some of the past box contents, to get an idea of past items.

I really like this box. I would love to swap for some of these.

I wanted to check their website but the link is not working. Definitely looks like a very indulgent box. I don’t have a monthly budget to accomodate this sub but I usually splurge in LE’s boxes quarterly and this one fits in that category!

I’ve been getting this box for a while now. I discovered it through a Forbes list of luxe gifts. It doesn’t cater to the discount aspect of sub boxes, but rather to a luxe experience and obtaining high-end, hard to find products. The yearly subscription doesn’t offer any discount, (it actually costs more) but offers access and perks in Napa Vley and the Hamptons. I have loved every box I have received!
They did recently have a summer months only special, and a 3-month sub on Gilt.

Charging more for an annual subscription is hilarious! I would LOVE to swap for the beautiful candle if anyone is interested.
