Golden Tote is one of my favorite monthly packages – and I think a good deal of my wardrobe is now from Golden Tote items!
If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from).
FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it. For returns it’s an all-or-nothing deal. You can return the entire tote for a refund, but you can’t return individual pieces.

This is the item I picked for my $49 tote:
Skies are Blue Sweet Summer Dress - Value $35
(Fabric content: shell: 100% polyester, contrast: 75% cotton, 25% nylon, lining: 95% polyester, 5% spandex; Care instructions: Hand wash cold, hang to dry)
I picked this dress since it seemed like a good value for a $49 tote item, and I like the Skies are Blue brand. The dress is lined, but I'll still probably need to wear a nude slip under it - white on white is still a tad see-through in certain lighting!
My favorite part of this dress is the cross straps and draping in the back:
Overall this is a very easy-to-wear summer dress - I'm happy with this pick!
Renee C Top - Value $30?
(95% Rayon, 5% Spandex; Dry Clean Only)
When I pulled this out of the tote, I was thinking the print would be a little too bold for me, but I ended up liking the colors, and I think I can pull it off with jeans. The cut of the top is also very flattering, and the material is so soft.
I'm just hoping I can get away with washing it in a cold cycle instead of dry cleaning it!
Verdict: I'm happy with my item selection for the August Golden Tote (though I realize I probably won't wear it much until next summer - no white after Labor Day, right?). I also ended up liking the item selected for me, so this $49 tote is a win (assuming I don't ruin the Renee C top in the laundry).
