Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette - Value $19.95
I love getting palettes in subscription boxes! Boxycharm has sent the other two Revealed palettes in previous boxes, and I really like that these include a good mix of matte, satin and shimmer shades. I'm happy with the pigmentation of these shades and their staying power - I would recommend using an eyelid primer though. (I swatched a few shades in the last picture to give you a better idea of pigment quality).
NIOS Shield Leave-In Conditioner - Value $26
First, great news about this product: Not tested on animals. Does not contain phthalates, synthetic dyes, nano-particles, sulfates, parabens, or PABA.
This formula is designed to provide sun protection for your scalp (it has SPF 15), so the directions instruct you to massage it into your scalp. (Definitely not your typical leave-in conditioner!) The formula is similar to a sunscreen lotion, so I could see how that could result in greasy hair. I tried it out on my scalp as instructed, and then just a little bit on the ends of my hair.
I think I'll end up using it just on the ends of my hair - otherwise it will weigh my hair down too much.
Mica Beauty Gel Eyeliner - Value $35?
Seta Eyeliner Brush - Value $16
Boxycharm originally listed this spoiler with a $35 value, but the only gel eyeliner I can find on the Mica Beauty site comes with a built-in brush, and it is 4 grams. (This one is 3 grams). So maybe the value of this is closer to $30?
Slight value discrepancies aside, I like the formula - it goes on smooth, and the brush they included is perfect for precision lines. (Swatched in last picture).
So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter - Value $20
(Can't find the product on the So Susan site, but the link goes to the product detail page if it were available!)
Unfortunately, this highlighting crayon experienced some damage in shipment and arrived out of the applicator and completely in the cap. I was able to rescue it, though!
And it is a good thing because it turns out that I really like the formula. It's the type of highlighter that is subtle and natural looking enough to work for everyday use, and it is so easy to blend. (Swatched below).
Verdict: This box has a value of about $112. I don't know how Boxycharm does it! I feel like almost every month the value is over $100 - so impressive for a $21 box. And I'll use every product in this box, so I'm extra happy.
