Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - box

Wantable Accessories is one of several different subscription boxes offered by Wantable, including Wantable Intimates, Style Edit, Fashion Edit, and Makeup. At the beginning of the subscription, you fill out a fairly in-depth questionnaire to customize what you will receive in your box. Wantable also accepts returns on any item you don’t like, so you get a retail value as well as “your” price that you will be refunded if you return an item.

My Subscription Addicition pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - info

Here is the invoice of my order with retail prices and “my” prices for each item. If you keep everything, you get a $4 credit for your next box.

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - preferences

This shows my preferences based on the questionnaire I filled out at the beginning of the subscription. You can change your answers at any time, too. They promise to not send you anything you dislike, and to send more of what you love.

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - hoops

Clair Earrings Gold – Retail $22 / My Price $11.43

I love these earrings! I love delicate hoops, but I also think summer calls for highly ornamented earrings. I’m always pulling my hair back in the heat, so it’s the perfect time for earrings with detail.

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - studs

Mary Jo Earrings Gold – Retail $15 / My Price $7.79

These earrings are cute, but not my style. I guess I am not really into chunky studs. I haven’t decided if I’m going to return them or not because my price is not much different than the credit I get for keeping everything. Maybe I should swap them?

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - necklace-on

Emilee Necklace M – Retail $26 / My Price $13.51

This necklace is so awesome! I love jewelry made of mixed materials, and I’ve been getting into wooden beads lately as well.

Here’s a lightly closer view. I like all the hints of color. This necklace is a big win for me!

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - headband

Jen Headband Gold – Retail $14 / My Price $7.27

This is now officially my favorite headband! My hair is very dark brown, and this tan shade with gold accents looks so cool in my hair. I love the little metal details! I think this would look fabulous with some random boho braiding. I’m going to try it!

Wantable Accessories Subscription Box Review – July 2015 - quote

This was wrapped around the items in my box. What a great quote!

The Verdict: I have been a fan of Wantable Accessories for a while now, and this month was no exception. I feel like the value is definitely there, and I also feel like they really paid attention to how I answered the questionnaire. There was one item I didn’t like that much, but I totally loved the other three. I’m really happy with my selections this month overall!

  1. I really meant to sub to this a while back when there was a coupon. I didn’t and I regret it. I made it as far as filling out the profile and never returned to the page. I like so much jewelry on the swap site and I think the majority of what I like comes from W. I should just go straight to the source lol! Maybe for Black Friday(?) if I can hold out that long…

  2. July was my first Wantable. I received a bangle bracelet, arrow studs, a boho necklace and a summer scarf. I think my box was great. I am keeping it all and very much looking forward to my next box. I will for sure inspect all items to make sure nothing is wrong, based on the comments above, but so far I’m happy.

  3. I just did my first accessories box this month. It was a big win for me – maybe not an out of the park home run – but definitely a big win.

I have pretty all over the place taste – I live in NYC so what I like varies – and what accessories I want will probably change depending on what I have a lot of at the time. (aka I need to remove sunglasses from my profile because I’ve gotten them in just about every sub box this month).

I got an awesome chunky gold bracelet that feels supper high quality (it’s HEAVY), Sunglasses (of course) that are tan, with cheetah siding and reflective lenses. They are super quirky but somehow just really work for my summer style. A pair of stud earrings that are mixed metal that I LOVE. I’d be obsessed with them if they were a little larger. And a 3 pattern scarf. The scarf is great but maybe has too much going on for me. I think I’d like it better if it were two patterns instead of three (one of the 3 i’m just not crazy about).

That said I’m keeping everything this month and am overall very pleased with the first attempt by Wantable at “getting” my style.

    • Yay!

  4. I have gotten Wantable Accessories on and off for about 2 years. The quality seemed to be lacking in the beginning & I sent back at least 5 pieces that were broken. I started up again this spring & have had to readjust my profile each month, because I keep getting items that are not to my taste. July’s box wasn’t much better. Again I received a damage item. I’m I the only subscriber that gets damage goods? The earrings I got this month were so damage, I can hardy believe the quality control will ship them. I’m done!

    • I can only remember receiving one broken item in my accessories box in the last year but I fixed it myself (hung on to the jewelry making kit that was part of a now defunct craft sub). I have however received irregular items in my intimates box (irregular as in a partially open leg hole in a pair of panties, a hem so crooked I looked like I was standing sideways, etc) but that was before they switched to the returning individual items for partial refunds model. I’d have to return the whole box and wait to get another box. While I always liked the intimates box the accessories sub never impressed me since I don’t need wool scarves in July, nor do I want 4 pairs of earrings. I definitely don’t want 4 necklaces when necklaces is listed under my dislikes. I quickly learned to only love one category and like only one (since you can’t dislike all but 1) and specified I wanted seasonally appropriate items within each in the comments. And then I got 2 lightweight scarves and a broken pair of studs. That’s when I pulled the plug. Too much work for something I’m paying $36 to get.

  5. Funny, I had the opposite response to the Emilee necklace! It had way too much going on. I did like the pink faceted rondelles next to the sparkly silver spacers though. It gave me necklace inspiration =)

    • Hi Andrea! I would have felt that way a couple of years ago, too, but my tastes change pretty frequently. Glad you found it inspiring, and yes, I love pink and silver together too! Classic combination!

  6. Wantable Accessories is one of my favorites. I really want to try hair accessories but I don’t care for headbands so I haven’t included them in my likes just yet. It seems like they do send out a lot of headbands.

    • You might try selecting hair accessories, but indicate in the comments that you don’t want headbands. I’ve found them quite responsive to comments.

      • I’m so glad to hear that, Linda! I just sent them a bunch of notes on my intimates sub! LOL
