Elizabeth & Clarke is a women’s clothing subscription box – and they specialize in just shirts and tops! They make all their styles in house, and only do a limited amount of new designs each season, so they are able to keep the prices very reasonable.  Each season you get to preview the tops and pick your favorites. (There are usually 3 new tops, and a few classic styles they have available every season).

The Emilia - 100% Linen

This is the essential summer shirt in my opinion - and I'm impressed that it is 100% linen. It is so soft too.

I like it buttoned up with the sleeves rolled up, but I think it will look good open over a tank too.

The Kelly - 100% Crepe de Chine

This shell is a pale pink (I'm not used to getting anything besides grey, white and black tops from Elizabeth & Clarke) so even seeing a little color in the box was fun!

The shell is lined on the front, and then the upper layer cuts away on the back:

It still is a little sheer though even with two layers.

The Olsen (60% Modal, 35% Microfiber, 5% Spandex)

I think this is my favorite item in the box - I wasn't expecting it to be very flattering, but the cut is perfect.

Verdict: I'm always so impressed with the quality of the shirts for the price. These definitely feel like they should cost more than $20 a piece! In general I've found that the pieces hold up well in the laundry, but they shrink a small amount, so I recommend keeping that in mind for sizing.

What do you think of the Elizabeth & Clarke Summer 2015 box?

Do you know if E&C sends a tracking number when your order ships? Their site says that the Fall collection ships on 9/1, but I have yet to receive an email that mine has shipped.

Heather, I actually had that same question yesterday so I emailed the E&C customer service. They said that currently they do not send out shipment notices, but they are working on a website upgrade that would allow them to do that. They assured me that all Fall collections were sent out on 9/1/15 and would arrive in 3-5 business days. 🙂 This will be my very first E&C order and I cannot wait to get it!

Charity, thank you so much for the info! This will be my first order with them too. I’ve looked at previous collections and didn’t like them enough to subscribe, but I am dying to add all 3 shirts from the Fall collection to my wardrobe! 🙂

Randi

Thanks – I was wondering when they were shipping too. So excited to get my first box!

Randi

They have the cutest, basic shirts – love them!
I had to sign up – I can’t wait to get my shirts this fall! I wasn’t sure about sizing, but after reading everyone’s comments I’m hoping I got it right. So thank you to everyone for your advice!
Seems like a great company with quality products.

I wish they had petite sizes!! The loose fit is perfect but I wish everything wasn’t so long. I got my first 3 shirts last month and they are great but they all go over my butt. Which is fine except it’s a different style than what was intended

I have had 5 boxes for a total of 15 shirts so far, and only one does not quite work. The sleeves are too long. I do not like tight fitting clothes and always have a problem on the shoulder so I am a medium but I get a 10. I am not busty so I have a lot of room there, but not on the shoulder. They recently went on kickstarter for their stainless shirts. They raised enough money to just do colors (pink and black in addition to white) but not enough money to do petit or plus sizes. The stainless shirts are $50 each and the tees (the Liz lemon) are $25. I pitched in 3 shirts and 2 tees for $200, prepaid now and will not get them until September. They have several slots where you can pitch $1000 and you get 24 shirts made in your size and I believe they all filled. It was a good deal except that I do not live in NY city. So I have to fly there to get measured. They have free exchanges and free returns but I think the shirts shrink a bit in the wash. I really do not see them offering extended sizes anytime soon since they needed the money up front, like this kickstarter. But I do hVe to say that this is one sub that I do not worry about. It arrives the 1st or 2nd of the month of that quarter. Never a tracking email. But I never have to worry about it. It always shows up on time and the clothes arrive at the beginning of the season. I got this box June 1.

I agree! Never have to worry about the sub. Shows up on time. I did need to exchange twice, and its customer service is top notch. I’ve been with them for about 2 years now, and love them.

I thought the Kelly was so pretty but I had to return it! It is definitely not cut for busty women. It fit in my normal size but sat tight enough across the chest that the armholes were off and showed my bra sides. I love that the Emilia has an extra button inside so gaping doesn’t happen – I usually have a hard time with button downs. The Olsen is very flattering and chic. The quality of all the shirts are definitely awesome for the price. I’m looking forward to the next season!

I’m always tempted to get this sub as the pieces look great and the price is fantastic. Still I always chicken out because I don’t understand their sizing. I’m always between a med and large depending on the bust, having to choose from #’s for sizing makes me nervous.

Bekki

I was nervous too, but took the plunge. My bra size is 34DDD and sizes 10 works well for me up top. I normally am between a M and L as well. The thing that I love is that there’s a hidden snap at the bust that keeps the shirt closed where it usually gapes on me. The shirts are really well made, and their customer service is top notch. I wanted several shirts from previous seasons and when I emailed they were able to find all of them for me! I honestly wish I could order more than three shirts! Guess I’ll just have to have two accounts. lol. The fall line looks great too, and I got in on the unstainable kickstarter. (I promise I don’t work for the company!!!)

Hola Bekki!

Thanks so much for the info. You just covinced me to try it! For the record… If you would work for the company I would have ordered it anyway. It means a lot when companies engage with their customers in different forums.

EC

They offer free returns and exchanges so there really isn’t any risk involved. Just FYI. Recommend just sizing up. I’m a 36 DD but wear a size 8 in their shirts if that helps.

I got the Kelly in a swap this week. I think it’s super adorable!

You don’t KNOW how much I wish they had larger sizes for the bustier folks! A 16 would make me OH SO HAPPY.

Aussieten

These look great, but as someone with a 36GG top, I know that the button downs would be horribly gape-y on me 🙁

AmyM

Agree! As I always do when this topic comes up. I would LOVE to see this sub offer the full range of Misses sizes and add Plus. The cutaway back on that pink shell is SO pretty!

Mel

I agree! Please have larger sizes!! I would love to have these tops.
