I’d I’d just like to add that I purchased a one month subscription to this box with a coupon from MSA with the intent that I’d gift the items to a friend with a new baby. The box I received was so-so. Nothing spectacular.
However, that was in May and I have been trying to cancel my subscription to BLUUM ever since – with NO luck whatsoever. They have managed to charge me full price for two more boxes since then – both containing items I could have purchased at the dollar store.
So, just a heads up – canceling this subscription is nearly impossible. Actually, so far, it’s been completely impossible. They require you to not only send them an email – but it must contain a special customer token that you have to search out on a special page of your account (I can’t tell you where because at the moment – I’m not sure where mine is – it’s some kind of Customer token so that they can verify you are who you are – your email’s good enough for you to sign up – just not good enough for you to cancel).
So, finding this token means navigating away from the page you are on and going to another page, copying the token, and then sending them an email requesting to cancel your account.
Once you’ve done this, you have to WAIT up to 24 HOURS for Bluum to send YOU an email with instructions on how to cancel your account and ONLY THEN can you actually cancel. You have a LIMITED AMOUNT OF TIME to follow the instructions and if you wait too long, the email expires and you have to start the entire process over.
Even after you’ve done all of this, you still have to wait for a follow-up email from BLUUM stating that your account has been cancelled and if you don’t receive this email, even if you’ve jumped through ALL of their hoops, they will continue to charge you for unwanted boxes.
Following is BLUUM’s Cancellation Policy straight from their website:
Monthly paid subscriptions must be cancelled before your next renewal date as noted on your order confirmation and/or your bluum account to avoid being billed and getting shipped another bluum box.
Subscriptions on a longer billing cycle (3, 6, 12 months) can only be cancelled after the initial prepaid term has been completed. If cancelled prematurely, you will receive a prorated refund, less a $25 early termination fee. That means, the total paid, less the retail price of any boxes already curated for you, and the early termination fee.
We have a convenient pausing feature available but understand if you must cancel your bluum subscription. Pausing can be done by submitting a request to customer service via [email protected]. Please specify the duration of the pause period.
1. Send your cancel request to [email protected] from the email used for your bluum account along with your special bluum service token (your bluum identification).
2. The service token can be found in your bluum account under the “profile” tab of your dashboard. On the bottom of your profile tab, click “create service token” and include it with your cancel request (a simple copy/paste is fine). This will ensure that we know it is you who is submitting the request.
3. Cancel instructions will be sent within 24 hours after your request is received.
Please note: If your request is not sent from the correct email address on file, this may delay your response.
Once your subscription has been cancelled, you will receive confirmation via email. If you do not see these cancellation confirmations, your subscription has not been cancelled.
Early cancellation of 3 month or longer bluum subscriptions must be requested via customer service at [email protected] AND will incur an early cancellation fee of $25 which will be deducted from the refund of the remaining months left in the subscription term. Subscriptions must be cancelled before the next billing date shown on your bluum account in order to avoid subscription renewal charges. Non cancelled subscriptions will continue having bluum boxes shipped and delivered.
I wish I had never signed up for this box. So far, they’ve charged me over $100 and I’ve sent them countless emails trying to cancel my subscription. Their cancellation policy is ridiculous and designed for one purpose and one purpose only – to ensure that they take advantage of their customers in every possible way while making as much money as possible. A simple email stating that I wished to cancel my account should have been more than sufficient.
Sorry if I sound a bit frustrated – I am. I sent my first request to Bluum to cancel my account back in April and thought I received confirmation that the account had been cancelled two days later. I’ve been charged for three more boxes since then.
Think hard before subscribing to this box. There’s something wrong when they make it this hard to cancel a one month subscription.
