Beauty Fix is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box from Dermstore.com. This subscription was previously known as the Blush Mystery Beauty Box. So far I've been impressed with Beauty Fix - the values of these past few boxes have been great!

Peter Thomas Roth SPF 50 Anti-Aging Defense - FULL SIZE! Value $26

I love that this item alone is worth more than the cost of the box! This sunscreen is paraben, sufalte, phthalate and fragrance free. Based on the tube packaging, I assumed it would be a sunscreen stick, but it actually is a liquid cream. The formula goes on white, but quickly rubs in clear and absorbs fast too. I love getting full sized SPF in subscription boxes, so this item is a win for me.

Blowout Beauty Anti-Frizz Volume Boost Treatment Oil - FULL SIZE! Value $45

Yay - this product is paraben and sulfate free! (I try to avoid sulfates in hair care products since my hair is color treated). It's a hair oil designed to tame frizz and add volume. I never associate hair oils with volume - my concern is that they will weigh down my hair, so I was a little skeptical of this product.

I just tried it out dry hair - and I'm impressed! I like the scent, and I think it actually did add a little volume! This may be a new go-to hair product for me.

Beauty Fix Subscription Box Review – May 2015 Smart Brow

SmartFX Smart Brow in Brunette and Blonde - FULL SIZE! Value $60 total

I like that they included two different shades of this product. I have dark black/brown brows, and the brunette shade worked for me. This product is like a mascara for brows, so it's great for filling in sparse brows, or if you don't have sparse brows, you can use it to can get a Cara Delevingne look! (I just tried it out and I'm currently rocking a pretty intense look!)

It also comes with a cleanser for removing the product from you brows. I'm going to first see if it just comes off with regular cleanser, as I don't want to add a "brow cleanser" step to my nightly beauty routine!

CITRIX Deluxe Vitamin C Pro-Collagen Brightening Serum - .06 oz $5.70

This is a pretty small sample, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to see if it is effective for me before it runs out, but I do love that it is fragrance and paraben free!

I read the reviews of this on Sephora before I tried it, and it seems to be a miracle product for some, and not work at all for others. The great thing about this product is that it is supposed to work instantly, so you’ll know from one use of this sample whether or not it is worth a full-size investment in the future.

I love that it is paraben, phthalate, and sulfate free, and it was one of the first products I tried after opening this box. I didn’t find the formula irritating at all, and it left no film on my skin. (I had tried a similar instant wrinkle reducer product before, and it left a bit of a white residue which made makeup application a pain). The scent is a subtle minty one, and I think I noticed a slight reduction of wrinkles. Not enough for me to buy the full size version, but I’ll definitely use up the rest of this sample.

Yon-Ka Cellular Code and Excellence Code Cream - Samples

NeoStrata Skin Active Perfecting Peel (2 Steps) Value $6.30

I never get too excited about foil packet samples, but they list the Yonka samples as "plus two free!" so I'll just consider them to be bonus!

The peel comes in two steps: the peel pad, and the neutralizer pad. My skin is somewhat sensitive, so I'm a little hesitant to try this. (If you've tried the peel and recommend it, please let us know)

Verdict: This box has a value of $126, and only cost me $25 - that's pretty incredible. (I guess I can substract $30 from that for the brow shade that doesn't work for me, but I'm happy to gift/swap it). And besides the foil packet samples and the blonde brow shade, I'll use everything!

I absolutely love this sub!! I’ve been subbing to it for over a year now and I’ve never been disappointed, maybe a little because I enjoy receiving makeup and this box doesn’t really have any makeup but I have SO MANY subs it’s ok! The best part about blush/beauty fix is I get to try really expensive skin care products that I could never afford. Plus the value is ALWAYS at least triple the cost! I’m excited for every item this month!! Plus u can’t go wrong with Dermstore grab bags, when they go on sell I buy them up!!!

I used a few of the products yesterday. Hair oil = amazing! Citrus C feels awesome – love it! And the Brow stuff I hadvto play around with – took me a while to figure out that each stick has 2 products in the tube – a sknny end for filling and then a mascara wand. Very cool!

I tried the hair oil last night (and the comb) and it didn’t work for anti-frizz. It definitely worked for volume. This morning I put handfuls of another pure hair oil in and some clips – it looks cute but not the look I’d thought I was going for. Next time I’ll try it without blow drying and see what it does.

I received my BF box in the mail Thursday. It was a pretty decent box for me. I couldn’t use the 2 brow products because my hair is black and they weren’t dark enough, so I’m gifting them.

I don’t have sensitive skin and the Neostrata peel was painful to use. Stung really bad. I ended up washing it off within a minute of putting it on.

I love the Citrex serum and it has a nice orange smell, but it is far too expensive to buy for my budget. I guess a girl can dream.

Overall, I really like the products I get from Blush/BeautyFix. I get them to try out hair and skin products, though I often can’t afford the full size of what they send me. I’ve found a few HG items from them though, so I consider it a win.

This is my first BeautyFix box (I signed up after the spoilers were released), and I love it! I was excited for the sunscreen stick because I needed a new sunscreen for this spring/summer anyway, and knew it would pay for the entire box if I signed up for a monthly subscription.

My favorite item may be the comb, just because I so needed a new comb with a tail for easy parting. It’s one of those things I think about once in awhile but never thought about while actually shopping.

The brow products look great, and I actually think both colors might work for me (I have medium brown brows).

I’m excited to try the hair oil because as Liz said, I’ve never seen a hair oil that claims to help improve volume. I’m intrigued!

I’m happy to pass the Needles No More and a couple of the other samples along to my mom. She may love them, and I got way more than what I paid with just the other items.

I’m so excited to see future months’ boxes!

I tried to subscribe when the box was still available. However, they are not shipping this box to Hawai, Alaska and Puerto Rico due to some DOT regulations. I’m very sad since the Beauty Fix boxes have been great lately.

Hey I live in hawaii and I just had to call them. They ship it ground because it may contain hairspray or nail polish so it goes on a boat and takes longer.

For anyone interested, I just got my DermStore Makeover Mystery Grab Bag. It was a good value, but one of the full-size products came expired and one of the samples had seen better dates. I’ve written to DermStore and I’ll see if they respond.

I’m so effing pissed that every time I look, this box is sold out. How the heck do u get it? Wen the heck do they become available each month?

You have to sign up for the monthly otherwise it gets frustrating. It’s way cheaper that way too! I have noticed that the site will say sold out, then release more during the month. That’s how I got signed up originally. This is my third box and I really like them and hey, you can always gift things you don’t want (or have in triplicate!). They sent out a powder dry shampoo from Love-s brand last month and it is the only dry shampoo that works for me. I like that I get cool products that I never would have bought for myself. Keep stalking the site, you’ll get it!

This one has been available all week and just sold out today. When I checked last night it was still available which normally once the full spoilers are released it sells out within an hour or so. This lasted a few days so thats impressive! Oh and once you get one, if you get it on the monthly cheaper price it will come every month and you will no longer have to stalk the site! Try calling and maybe they can sign you up early for next month or any returns?

Ok I am so stoked about this hair oil! This was the kind of thing I was hoping would be in the Nina Garcia box. The hair oil alone makes the box worth it for me. Plus it really seems like they have been listening to subbers because they included two colors for the brow gel.
I just want to mention this because I know we all care about ingredients and that is the sunscreen stick primary protectant is oxybenzone. I use sunscreen everyday and will not use chemical sunscreens(i.e they absorb into your skin) because there is a lot of evidence that they are linked to health issues. Ok getting off my soapbox.

I’m pretty sure they implanted some sort of mind-reading nanotech in last month’s juicebeauty lotion, because last week i said to myself, i said, ‘Self, severe center parts are blowin’ up this spring. you need a quality hair oil and and quality comb.’ plus i always go a little weak in the knees for mr. thomas roth.

I actually dreamt about this box this morning. I remember looking at myself in the mirror and noting what a mess I had done with my eyebrows. I think this is a definite sign that I’m more than addicted.

I am planning to sell the eyebrow gels/mascaras on ebay since I had eyebrow tattoo done. I love that the value of this box is so great and the variety is awesome. Cant wait for next month!

I’ve never tried Beauty Fix before although I have purchased items through Dermstore and have always been happy with their service. I decided to do a one time box purchase this month for $35 just to try it out and even at that price I’m very happy with this box. I’m thinking of dropping BoxyCharm and picking this up instead, as I like the range of products much better.

As soon as Beautyfix revamped, I dropped Glossybox and Boxycharm and decided to give them a try instead. And I havent looked back since. I just love skin care items, so this box is a perfect fit for me. Plus they really do give you such a great value for your money. With Beautyfix, Popsugar, and the occasional one time box/bag for makeup products, I am a happy camper. 🙂 Cant wait for my box to get here later today! I have been wanting an eyebrow gel for weeks, so glad I held off on buying one from Anastasia.

This is hands down the best beauty box I have ever received. Got mine yesterday and just kept pulling out more stuff! I couldn’t be more thrilled with the sizes and variety. Beauty Fix is beginning to pass BoxyCharm as my fave sub.

Liz, I did try the peel and it tingles at first but didn’t make my skin red or irritated at all after using the neutralizer pad. It’s hard to tell from one try if it works, but I have had excellent results from using glycolic products in the past and may have to give this one a full test.

Don’t laugh but I cut both pads into several strips and make sure to keep them tightly sealed in the packet. I’m only using them on my cheeks so the small section of pad is enough. I feel they should have at least included 3 pads each so people might get a chance to see if it starts to give results before purchasing
