BioRepublic Cucumber Breeze Soothing Fiber Mask – Value $5

I like my masks off in under 10 minutes, so I’m not super excited about this 15-20 minute mask, but it looks really refreshing so I’ll give it a try!

Alaffia Skin Recovery Face Cream – Samples Value $1?

This face cream has a natural/herbal scent to it. I like it, but I might be in the minority on that. The formula is very moisturizing, and I’d probably use it as a night cream since it has a thick consistency.

This sponge is pretty tiny, but in the info card they recommend using it to wash your face, so I guess the size works.

Goddess Garden Organics SunnyBody Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 – 1 oz Value $4.40

The first thing I always check with natural sunscreen is whether or not it is difficult to blend in. (I’ve sampled a few sunscreens that go on white and seem to stay white no matter how hard I try to rub them in!) This formula easily blends in so I’m happy!

ellovi Tinted Lip Butter – FULL SIZE! Value $5

I’ve sampled ellovi products before and loved them. This tint is moisturizing and gives just a hint of color. The only thing I don’t love is the scent (or lack of scent).

Verdict: This box has a value of about $17-18. I think I may end up canceling my subscription to Bare Bliss Box if the value doesn’t improve by next month. For a $20 beauty box, I expect to get an average of at least $30 worth of products a month.

  2. Should I be concerned if I haven’t received May box yet? Has everyone gotten their May box?

    • I would. I think it’s OK to contact them because we are entering the second week of June.

    • I haven’t received mine yet either and I sent an email on Friday. Haven’t heard back yet, but it was Friday, so we’ll see if I hear something or see my box early this week.

      • I received an email from bare bliss yesterday saying they made a mistake and didn’t send my May box and they are sending it today. Pretty fast resolution for them since I emailed them last Friday.

  3. I just got a sample of that Goddess Garden sunscreen in my Pinchme box, so it was a free sample. I don’t like when subs send out items you can get for free and put a value on it. I’ve had my eye on Kloverbox for a while, haven’t signed up, trying to use up some of my stash before getting new boxes.

  4. Liz – Your heart doesn’t seem to be in the review.

    I received the same sunscreen in the EWG Sun Safety box. I haven’t tried it yet. The mask looks interesting. I’ve been using My Beauty Diary sheet masks and love them. I even signed up for the Mask Genie box.

    • It’s pretty hard to get excited about something that disappoints you. Receiving a box valued under what you paid, that isn’t a food sub, would be super disappointing to me, too. That said the review seemed pretty fair and evenhanded to me. And honest, which I absolutely appreciate.

  5. This is my 9th box, and I have had this sub since box 1. I paid $39 for 3 months, and since the value and the usability is not there for me, I have cancelled yesterday before I get charge again Monday. I have picked up kloverbox instead. So far, I am not impressed. I got charge a second month before even receiving the first month. She posted on Facebook saying that because Memorial Day is Monday, all boxes will go out Tuesday. In essence, she was still waiting for an item to arrive, which was in a later post. And it seemed there is no way to cancel online?

    • To be fair to KloverBox – She posted on the KloverBox Facebook page on 5/21 that the boxes will be late. I posted about it on April’s thread. I do think that companies should email us when boxes will be late.

      • Yes, you are correct, but on May 22 she said in the same post boxes will go out Tuesday, 26th, and on the 26th, she posted a delivery note that the last item will be arriving. I am a new subscriber. I was charged a second box when my first had not arrived. They also clearly stated in the terms that boxes ship out 15th to 18th. Then I got a link Thursday and in essence the boxes were not even dropped off. I am just tired of companies giving you a ship link to shut you up, and in reality the boxes were not ready.

      • Wendy – Well that is a mess. I can understand your agitation over this. I don’t like being charged for a second box when I have not received the first box. I don’t like late boxes or having to search for communications from a company. I drop those subs because it’s not worth the hassle.

        All I can say is that this isn’t normal for KB. I’ve been subscribed for months and this is the first time that there has been a lack of communication or a late box. I don’t know what is the correct action – sending a box on time minus one item or send it late. I think better communication would had been helpful.

        I wish you had a better experience with KB because I do think it is a great box overall, but I can understand why you desire to cancel it. I have no clue how to cancel it. I signed up long before there were even accounts/logins.

      • I’ve been subbing to KB for only a few months but it has been a good experience. I haven’t been following their updates on Facebook but I received my box saturday and I did notice that it was later than usual but I just assumed that it was because they were busy trying to put together the regular monthly boxes and the limited edition summer boxes at the same time. With some sub boxes you may get charged twice before you receive the first box… it depends on when you sign up during their billing and shipping cycle.

      • I don’t mind waiting for a box, but since I don’t use Facebook I don’t receive the communication. I heard from PA Anna, not KB. That irks me. Luckily, I’ve been subbing to KB for long enough to know late boxes and lack of communication are not the norm. I’m consistently happy with their monthly choices so I’ll give the benefit of the doubt. This is KB’s first LE box coming out, so there might be some scrambling around and unforeseen circumstances associated with that.

      • But as far as Bare Bliss goes, I had originally signed up thru the Gilt City deal. I haven’t heard a word from them about this month’s box…

      • Tacie, my experience has been that you will not here from them. I have received 2 boxes from them and have never received an email notification that the box shipped, no shipment tracking, or even a charge notification. The boxes just magically show up each month. I don’t like this because it makes it difficult to know if your box is late or prove it got lost during shipping if you never receive it.

      • CJ, I have received a couple months so far too and you are right, there isn’t an email or tracking number provided ever. For the month of May, I didn’t get a box at all. Nor did I receive communication from them. This is when it becomes a big deal to me. Of course, Kloverbox has done that to me this month too, so who knows? It’s frustrating and you don’t want to feel like they’ll forget about you when you’ve already paid, ya know?

      • I understand. I would definitely contact customer service at Bare Bliss and ask them to show proof that your May box was shipped and where it is currently and ask for a replacement to be sent if it got lost or if they can’t prove that it was shipped in the first place. I would contact Kloverbox too if your tracking information isn’t updating or if the number of boxes you eventually receive don’t match up with the number of charges you got.

      • Got my box today! The Sea Sponge is about the size of a Beauty Blender. I’m really interested in trying it.
        The shape of the lip butter container is enough for me to want to use it right away! These often end up in my front pocket where their cylindrical shape sticks out like a sore thumb, but not this one! It’s OVAL. Can you say genius?

  6. I liked the items in this month’s box more than last month’s box but I feel the same way about cancelling. I’ve only received 2 boxes from them and I haven’t really been impressed with either, especially the retail value relative to the cost of the box. I’m still on the fence about cancelling. I think we only have another day to decide before getting charged for next month’s box.

    • Just checked my sub account online and it shows a charge for next month was charged yesterday and is processing. I went ahead and deleted my card info because I didn’t see an option to cancel my sub. So I guess I may get at least one more box from them.

  7. The lip butter is nice and I’ve used the Goddess Organics sunscreen before and liked it, but I’m glad I didn’t resubscribe. I expect a beauty box to be worth at least what I paid. I’ll continue to follow the box and see if the value improves.

  8. Glad I didn’t subscribe when I thought about it. LOL today is sad day in Kim’s world. My severance pay has now run out so I’ve cancelled all but Yuzen, FFF, PS, LLB and Glossy Box. Whew that’s still 5. And of course any LE like PS or anything to with Liz. At least with all the former boxes I had done yearly subs so no matter going out now 🙂

    Kim’s addiction :- cancelled at least 10 boxes!

    • Wow, that’s impressive sub box culling. I’m down to 3 until I get my stash reduced. I’ve kept LLB, Rachel Zoe, and of course any box Liz curates.:0)
