Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – April 2015 Box

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural and healthy too!). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – April 2015 Info

Each beauty box comes with a card detailing the items included for that month.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – April 2015 Lip

Emani Lip Shine in Social Climber - FULL SIZE! Value $16

This is my favorite item in the box. The formula gives a ton of shine with no stickiness, and the Social Climber color works great with my skin tone. (And as always, I appreciate that the formula is free of parabens, phthalates, gluten, etc.)

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – April 2015 Hair

Captain Blankenship Mermaid Mane Sea Salt Hair Spray - 1 oz Value $6

This sea salt hair spray is made with natural and organic ingredients and it works as well as other sea salt sprays I've tried. (My hair never seems to get that perfect mermaid hair look with these products). The only thing that seems a little off about this product is the rose scent. I just expect sea salt sprays to smell beachy, and the rose scent is throwing me off!

Petal Fresh Organics Tea Tree Shampoo Scalp Treatment – 3 oz Value $2

Hm - I got this exact same item in my Vegan Cuts Beauty Box last month... Looking at the info card, I think I should have received the conditioner instead of the shampoo in this box.

On the plus side, this shampoo is free of sulfates, GMOs, petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens, etc.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – April 2015 SPF

Goddess Garden Organics SunnyBody Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 - 1 oz Value $4.40

The first thing I always check with natural sunscreen is whether or not it is difficult to blend in. (I've sampled a few sunscreens that go on white and seem to stay white no matter how hard I try to rub them in!) This formula easily blends in so I'm happy!

Wellinhand Action Remedies Bug-A-Boo Vanilla Rosemary - Sample Value $2.50

I couldn't really detect the vanilla scent in this insect repellent spray, but the rosemary is strong. I love the smell of rosemary, so this is a preferable scent compared to the typical bug spray fragrances.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $31. That's OK for a $19.95 box, but since it is beauty items, I would expect the value to be a little higher. With the exception of the sea salt spray, everything in this box is a win for me. (Though I wish I had received the conditioner instead of another shampoo).

To be honest this probably one of the BEST boxes I got from Vegan Cuts so far. This one is actually curated quite well.

The lip gloss smells so good and the color is so pretty! I can sniff that all day. I think the one thing I was really looking forward in the box is the sea salt hair spray. I tried it right away and it’s works great! Can’t wait to use this at camping! The sunscreen came in a perfect timing, I was looking for a vegan brand and wasn’t sure which brand to get. This really helps! Oh, the bug spray? I can’t wait to use it at camping.

I loved this box so much and will be using everything!! (and will purchase the full versions once I am done using the samples)

I have to say i was a little disappointed in the value, especially since i pay extra to have it delivered to Canada. The lip gloss is lovely but doesn’t last long (i think it managed to stay glossy for maybe 20 minutes? )
I’m new to the sub boxes but really researched before subbing to this one… I don’t want to be hasty so I’ll give it a couple more months before cancelling. I have such high hopes for this box!
Side note, have you ever tried the “think dirty” box? Its pricey 95$, i tried it in January and loved everything in it, its Canadian and you can see what is in the box. I skipped last month but hoping for more great boxes like then first one i got!
I also ordered the cosmic box from wild honey apothecary. Not sure if you’ve reviewed either of those, I’ve been silently reading your blog and have yet to come across them… it seems like you could use a couple more boxes! 😉 lol

Does the bug repellant work? I’m always looking for chemical-free bug repellant that actually works.

I received the shampoo as well. I contacted Vegan Cuts on Friday and they said they would send the conditioner. We will see if they actually do, if lots of people got the wrong item. Yipes! …pretty big mistake.

I received a shampoo instead of the conditioner, too! Glad I wasn’t the only one
