Marvel Collector Corps Subscription Box Review – April 2015

After months of waiting, the first Marvel Collector Corps subscription box has finally arrived!

The packaging of this box is fantastic! This is the first thing you see when you open the box. The patch and pin are attached to the first cardboard flap. And here is the awesome comic book art lining the box:

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process postto learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Marvel Collector Corps

The Price: $25 a box plus $6.95 shipping (boxes ship every other month)

The Products: Each box includes exclusive collectible product created by Marvel & Funko including apparel, collectibles and accessories worth $50.

Shipsto: US and Worldwide (For international subscribers: Items over $20 in value will have duties/taxes that will range from 12% – 18% depending on the Province. There may also be a collection fee from the posted country).

Funko POP Hulkbuster – Value $30?

This is an exclusive item for subscribers, so I’m guessing on the value. (I’ve seen a few listed on ebay for around $40, but I’m not sure if they are selling at that price).

It is an AWESOME POP! The detail is amazing, and it is the heaviest POP in my husband’s collection.

Marvel Collector Corps Patch – Value $5?

Marvel Collector Corps Pin – Value $4?

Two more exclusives for this box! I love when geeky boxes send exclusives too – I think it is a great differentiator and can make the box much more valuable.

Marvel Avengers Age of Ultron Borbz Vinyl Figure – Value $9?

This little guy is another exclusive! The head of this figure twists, and it has a good weight to it. (It measures about 3 inches tall).

Avengers Guardians Team Up 001 – Value $4

A look inside:

Thor Vs Ultron Tee – Value $28?

Subscribers will receive one of four exclusive design shirts. This one is made by Flop House, so I pulled their t-shirt prices for the value. It’s 90% Cotton, 10% Polyester, and it is medium to light weight. (Some geek boxes send out heavy cotton tees, and I think we prefer this style).

Verdict: I think this is a great first box from Marvel Collector Corps! It’s hard to put a value on the box since almost everything is exclusive, but I can say without a doubt it is worth $32 for us. (I’m guessing my husband would have spent $32 on the POP alone). My husband also loves all things Marvel, so this box removes some of the risk that we have with other geek boxes of sending items we may not be interested in.

Also, the packaging of this box is fantastic! It was so fun to unbox, and I think it made us even more excited to see Age of Ultron!

What do you think of the first Marvel Collector Corps subscription box?

  1. May I know the box weight and dimensions of each Collectors Corp series?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. My son’s Ant Man box arrived today. The tracking email arrived after the delivery 🙂 Totally unexpected. He’s happy.

  3. I was very pleased with my box. I just started collecting Pops and the Hulkbuster is awesome. I haven’t seen it for less than $45. I got the Cap vs. Ultron shirt which is exactly what I wanted and the Ultron dorbz(?) which is cool.

  4. We got two boxes and ended up with Thor v. Ultron and Captain America v. Ultron. My husband claimed the Cap’n. =o)

  5. Per the FB page it appears the second wave of orders is being sent out in the next few days. All orders made between April 9th and 24th are in the second wave. Getting excited for my husband…he has no idea it’s coming!

  6. I ordered two of these boxes – one for myself and one for my husband, in two different T-shirt sizes, so I certainly hope we get two different T-shirts and not the same one because we live in the same house or the same geographic area. I’ve also yet to receive any type of shipping confirmation so I guess I will check their website and see if there’s anything there. We are going to the IMAX premiere on Thursday night (bought tix on day one of the release) and I really wanted the shirts before then…

    • Make sure you subscribe to their Facebook account they provided daily updates on shipping of the boxes as a whole.

  7. Best geeky box I’ve recieved! I got the Iron Man shirt and I was definitely surprised with how heavy the Hulkbuster was! Can’t wait to get Ant-Man!

  8. As a family, this is the best box that we’ve ever gotten. It was so fun for everyone! I think that these are awesome items for the price.

  9. I wish I had known about this box! I would’ve gotten it for my 6yo son. He’d love EVERYTHING in it!

    • You might still be able to get this box; I can’t tell for sure since I don’t have an account.

The first screen of their site says “Our Debut box features: Avengers: AGE OF ULTRON SHIPS: April 2015 Supplies are limited so sign up today!”

    • They said on FB that they are still available, but you may want to double check for updates before you place your order.

    • You are still able to purchase this box. They haven’t given a cut off date just yet for last wave of shipment.

    • I believe you can still get one if you order ASAP from the comments on facebook on there page

  10. I got my box today and I LOVE IT! Every item is awesome, especially the Hulkbuster. I got a Hulk vs. Ultron t-shirt and I was hoping for Captain America, but I still like the design overall.

  11. I can’t wait to get this box!! My husband is a marvel comic fanatic and this box is just for him but I’m as excited as he is!!!

And Liz this site has done me in I think I’m subscribed to snot 15 subs now and I check MSA daily, well more like hourly lol!!!!

    • I’m sure you’ll both love the box – now I already can’t wait to see what will be in the Ant Man June box!
And I’m so glad you like the site! It means so much to me to be part of your day! 🙂

  12. I loved the box, we got the captain america shirt. Really like the exclusives and the fast shipping.

  13. Hands-down for my husband and boys, this was the best geek / comic box we’ve ever received. It was hard to even divvy up who got what they loved it all so much. I got the Captain America pin. *wink* Could not believe the quality of the Hulk Buster and how heavy it was, and can’t wait for the ANT-MAN box in June!

  14. This is the first time I have ever wanted a POP.

  15. I’m convinced that we receive the same variations because of our geographic closeness. I’m always typing my box is the same as Liz’s.

My son loves this box. He’s happy wih everything especially the shirt and POP figure.

It said UPSPost in the tracking. Did the post office delivery it? My son’s was delivered by UPS, but I think it’s because we had other packages delivered that day by UPS. I read they’ll do that instead of sending it to the postoffice.

    • Mine got sent to the post office from UPS, so maybe it depends on where you live? I’m in NY.

  16. I am so excited about this box! Love the shirt! I have seen two of the other designs: they are the same basic concept, each with a different hero. I got Hulk. I have also seen Captain America. The other one is probably Iron Man.

  17. Thanks for posting this review Liz. I also signed up for it and am so excited. Did you happen to receive an email letting you know it was being shipped?

    • Yes we did get a shipping confirmation email. We signed up the first day it launched, so they may be shipping in order. Hope that helps!

      • Liz, Thanks for responding so quickly. I just can’t wait to get this box.

    • I know that they are shipping in at least two waves. I think that they said that anyone that ordered after March 8th or 9th would be in the second wave. Hope that helps.

      • Correction, it looks like it was April 8th, not March. And here is some info from their FB page “For anyone in the US saying they haven’t received tracking info via email, make sure and log into your account on The tracking number is also available there – you don’t have to rely on the email itself. If that’s still blank, and you ordered by 4/8, and your delivery address is in the US, then please contact [email protected].”. I’m sure that you are super anxious, especially after seeing what you’ll be getting!

      • Sorry, *April 8th, Not March.
