Dottie Box Mini Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Project

A Global Project Home Friendship Bracelets – value: 10?

Natural Soap Co. Georgia Peach Soap – value: ~$1

I couldn’t find these friendship bracelets for sale online, so I had to guesstimate a value. A Global Friendship is an international non-profit that works towards women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation – definitely causes I’m all about. The bracelets they make are eco-friendly and ethically sourced, too. Personally, I’ll probably tie the three bracelets together and wear them as a multi-strand bracelet.

This soap company is based in my home state, Michigan! The company is dedicated to making paraben-free soap in small batches. It’s supposed to be good for sensitive skin, and this bar sample smells just like peaches and cream!

Dottie Box Mini Subscription Box Review – February 2015 Clue

Printcess Mineral Eye Shadow in Clue - sample

Printcess Mineral Eye Shadow in Narrative – value: $6

These eye shadows are handmade, cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, and free of parabens and other skin irritants. I like that, and I love that they included a full-size of the Narrative color, and a sample of the Clue color. Narrative is a shimmery, warm, cream shade. It makes a great neutral base shadow, but it’d even work great as a highlighter, too. I don’t mind that that the blue shadow is a sample because I’m not likely to use a whole container of that color, so this is just enough for me to play with a little and is a nice little addition.

Verdict: This was a pretty good Dottie Box Mini! I like and will use everything included, and I love that a non-profit was featured. It was hard to do a value estimate, but my values add up to about $17, which I’m happy with for a $10 box ($13 including shipping).

What do you think about the February Mini Dottie Box?

Hi, I am curious why you didn’t use the values provided on the card that came with the box. Also, I found the bracelet sets on their website. http://shop.aglobalfriendship.org/Circle-of-Friends-Bracelet-Trio-009.htm

Sarah — Good eye! Thanks so much for finding the bracelets online! I’m definitely happy to see they’re valued at $25 instead of my guess of ~$10.

And, while we generally use the values listed on info cards, we like to find the items for sale online so we can verify the values (it’s unfortunate, but some boxes can sometimes inflate the values on their info cards, so we like to confirm the value just to be sure). If we can’t find items online, we do our best to try and estimate the value or, if a value is offered on the info card, we use that value instead. However, when I couldn’t find the bracelets online, I spaced and just forgot to use the info card’s value. Sorry about that! Thanks for reading!
