Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Bag

The Vegan Cuts Beauty Box is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. All of their products are vegan (and they tend to be natural and healthy too!). They also typically include a nice mix of full size and sample beauty items.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FYI – I subscribe to both the Snack and Beauty box, so Vegan Cuts combines them into one box for shipping – that’s why the beauty items are separated into their own bag.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Items

The Cost: $19.95

The Products: Each box contains a mix of 4-7 full and sample size cruelty-free beauty must-haves, ranging from unique cosmetics to luxurious skincare. All items are void of icky, toxic ingredients and animal by-products, so you can feel beautiful inside and out.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Info

Each beauty box comes with a card detailing the items included for that month.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Shampoo

DermOrganic Intensive Hair Repair Masque - 2 oz Value $4.66

DermOrganic Daily Conditioning Shampoo - 2 oz Value $4

I'm excited to try both of these - I am surprised though that they use synthetic fragrance in the ingredients since the emphasis of the brand seems to be organic!

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Lip Balm

Crazy Rumors HibisKiss Lip Tint in Tropical - FULL SIZE! Value $5

Modern Minerals Shimmer Eye Shadow in Champagne - (labeled 2 g, but more like 1 g) Value $6

This lip tint has a fruity tropical flavor, gives lots of moisture, and a little shimmer/color - I like it!

This Modern Minerals Shimmer Eye Shadow is labeled 2 g (which is the full size version), but I have a few of the full size versions thanks to subscription boxes, so I can tell it's more like 1 oz. Mislabeling issues aside, I like this champagne gold shade a lot.

Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Subscription Review – January 2015 Nail Polish

Gourmet Body Treats Sugar & Spice Scrub - 1 oz? Value $3.50

Color Club Nail Polish in Snow Queen - Value $8.50

This Gourmet Body Treats scrub has a rich coffee scent - I love it! Plus it is made with all organic ingredients!

Judging my the info card, subscribers will likely be getting a variety of nail polish brands for their nail polish in this box. I love the Color Club formula, so I feel like I lucked out. This Snow Queen shade is a super-dark purple.

Verdict: This month's Vegan Cuts Beauty Box has a value of about $32. I'll use every single item, so that value is OK with me. I think they did a good job of variety of products this month too. What do you think of the January box?

I’ve never subscribed to Vegan Cuts because I don’t like the oddball nail colors. I think they skew younger. I’ve been getting goodebox for my daughter and they are more crunchy, like VC, but the stuff they sent (just one box so far) was crazy good – I like petit vour for myself but was kind of drooling over my daughter’s goodebox. Vegan Cuts has nice products but I just haven’t gone there…

I love the Jan. vegan beauty box. I am addicted to the “Crazy Rumors”. It’s such a pleasing feel on the lips and has a great scent. I have used almost everything in my box. Only used the shampoo and masque once so far and was pleased. I haven’t tried the scuba yet but plan to tonight. I love the eye shadow, I used it for a TV interview and it stayed on nicely all day.. Very happy and look forward to more boxes from Vegan cuts.

I can only speak of the Gourmet Body Treats scrub because I received the scrub before in the GBT sub and in a GBT order. I’m not home, but I think it is an ounce and can give a price once I am back. It looks like it might have froze during shipping so be sure to stir it. My scrubs from GBT looks normal

I’ve order from Vegan Cuts store. I don’t know if I received expired product. I do look for dates and can’t find them on the majority of the items. I’ve been happy with what I received.

I never did figure out how to review PV’s items so I don’t use the store.

It took me a while to figure out PV system points but all you have to do is go to your Beauty Box Featured Products and just click on the stars. There is five stars just click on that and then a couple days later you get your rewards in your account. It’s slow but it works.

I have the scrub listed as $7.00 from my Gourmet Body Treats sub. I don’t have the size listed and can’t tell if it is the same size as the one in Vegan Cuts. I do know the scrub wasn’t full size.

Also they better freaking throw in a LUSH soap or some nice PACIFICA products for the next box! I hate how cheap they are being and the fact that they only give out NICE EXTRA SAMPLES for new subscribers…hello how about the rest of your customers that is already subscribed to you?!

Makes me so mad…=_=’

Hey there! We have plans to work with Pacifica again soon as well and are making plans to give bonuses to long term subscribers as well. We also gave all subscribers 2 extra bonus items in their Dec box because we love all subscribers.

Amen! I’ve had both subs for VeganCuts and somehow managed to sign up, separately, for both during times they had no promo-freebie for new subscribers, then a week later *BAM* freebies for new subscribers that I did not receive.

Boxes should have loyalty rewards, not just new subscriber rewards.

VC also give zero incentive to buy from them, where Petit Vour has 20% back in site points. I’ve ordered one LE and a couple products from PV and already have enough points for a 25$ gift card. I’ve spent more with VC and no rewards at all.

Hey! We don’t have a point system in place yet but we always include coupon codes for Beauty box subscribers that allow them to save $5 off $25 or $10 off $50 marketplace orders, which is the equivalent of 20%. We try to give as many perks as possible on top of our already special priced marketplace items.

Ann

Yeah, the promos makes me furious to no ends!! It actually happened to me too…

Oh my goodness! I know how you feel. I spent almost 100 bucks on Vegan Cuts products (not the beauty boxes) and no points at all. Also I ended up throwing away most of the stuff I ordered too. For some odd reason the stuff I got were either old or expired…=/ Maybe that’s why there are always discounts?? If they had a loyalty rewards system I wouldn’t be so angry about it. Just a bad experience with VeganCuts in general.

Petit Vour definitely does a better job that’s for sure. For both the Beauty Boxes and Loyalty Points.

I really do love the element of surprises. BUT (VeganCuts) does a really bad job at it. I always end up hating everything in the beauty box and is meh/okay with one thing. =’/

Ann

I am disappointed once again with Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. I really try REALLY hard to like this month’s Beauty Box from them. My first box was the Dec. box and I threw away everything but the blush. =_=’

I just don’t know what to think of them. I like that everything is natural but wait what the Dermorganic samples has synthetic fragrance in the ingredients?! Wow I am starting to regret my subscription with them…

1. Modern Minerals: STATED FULL SIZE but really it’s a SAMPLE SIZE!!
I am really getting sick of getting false advertisement from them. I hate nothing more than false advertisement…

2. Crazy Rumors: FULL SIZE (but it’s not worth much)
I actually like the shade but not so much the smell. It’s sad how this is the only thing I actually like in the whole box and I don’t LOVE it completely.

3. Surprise Nail Polish: FULL SIZE
I am so done with nail polish from them. Two boxes in a roll ? Please no thank you and they are never good colors. I feel like they are just trying to get ride of ugly colors no one wants.

4. Gourmet Body Treats: SIZE ?????
That’s right I have no idea because they literally forgot to put it in my box!! I seriously don’t even think they “forgot”. I keep seeing a lot of reviews where VeganCuts Beauty Boxes has missing products. I think they purposely do that because most people don’t complain about it and they get away with it. I immediately pop an e-mail over asking for my missing product. So apparently they will send me my missing product in next month’s Beauty Box. There is a warning where if they ran out of that particular product they will send you a different one in replace of that one. GOD I hope it’s not ANOTHER NAIL POLISH… Oh and get this if I don’t subscribe for next’s month they would probably not send it to me.

5. Dermorganic: SAMPLE SIZE
Yeah, not exactly all natural. I might use it…but meh.

So far I think VeganCuts is not worth my money. 20 bucks for a box and this is what I get? It’s usually stuff I can’t even use and super cheap looking. This month’s box did not worth the price I paid for, for reals. If you are thinking of subscribing to them, do one box first (see if it’s worth it for YOU) instead of paying for 6 or 12 boxes subscriptions. Because you cannot get a refund if you change your mind.

So I am planning to stick around for the Feb. Vegan Cuts Beauty Box and see how much the Beauty Box is gotta suck or maybe there might be some sort of redemption.

Peace. <3

For the price point, i feel the value is low and the samples have been very small. Last two months i have been disappointed and took a break.

Lauren

Agreed. This box is better than December’s for sure, but there’s nothing exciting. I’ve been way happier with Petit Vour.

Ann

My feelings are the same about VeganCuts…=/

Liz, I love the eyeshadow color. Is it a cream or a powder?

Liz Cadman

It’s a loose powder.
