I think Net-A-Porter does a great job with the value of their beauty boxes. These VDay boxes are not awful as far as value, but it seems more about the curation. The $130 candle has 18k gold, and there are a lot of high end touches on these items to justify the costs. I personally would prefer a plush robe in a spa box, as a silky one isn’t really what I wear after a bath (and seems more suited for “sexy time” lol). To each their own. I can see why the word “sticker” would make a $70 leather purse accessory seem excessive (and it prob is), but if you collect Anya Hindmarch, it could be similar to a Louis Vuitton collector purchasing a purse fob. Or if you appreciate Anya’s pieces but can’t afford a handbag, a $70 accessory might seem reasonable in comparison. As far as a luxury gift that someone prob wouldn’t purchase for themselves, I think this is the perfect thing. Isnt that sometimes what gifts (and especially Valentine’s Day gifts) are about?
I do agree that it’s a bit strange the phone case isn’t for the newest phone model though. I would’ve totally wanted that box if it were 🙂

I have a question about subscription boxes? Has anyone ever tried the 1Up Box? If so, it a good value for the products that you receive monthly? I have two children, one in graduate school and one a senior in high school. They love geek, gaming and nerd gear. I have tried NerdBlock and Lootcrate and was wondering about 1Up.

I… Does that actually say a STICKER (and a small one!) is worth $70?! Who on earth are they kidding? These boxes are quite expensive and don’t have the payoff one would expect from that kind of price.
I’d rather have a $150 Ouiplease! Or heck, the whole YEAR of OuiPlease for that price 😀

Is this for Valentine’s Day, or April Fool’s?
I love net-a-porter, but this is just taking advantage of men, who are clueless about what products should cost… I would really feel bad for my husband if he bought me one of these boxes at these prices. Half off, I would love it–but not at $695.

^ this. These boxes are ridiculously priced. Surprised, since Net-A-Porter’s beauty boxes are always such a great value.

I agree the cost of the box is too close to the value of it. If a box is going to be that expensive the value should be almost double the cost of the box.

“Anya Hindmarch’s Phwoar!!! textured-leather adhesive sticker Value $70” = what to get the person who has everything.
Ha ha awesome!

the second one is pretty appealing, especially because of the lipstick, but the value is so close to the cost!

These are for men (with money) who have no clue what to get for their signif other.

A clueless man with that kind of cash doesn’t need one of these ridiculously overpriced boxes, he needs a personal shopper with good taste and good sense!

I usually like net-a-porter, however, the value almost matches the price tag. I can pick which items I like and purchase them on my own and spend way less. I thought in the past they offered some sort of value to their boxes.

….I totally thought those lips were a sex toy. But it’s a phone case. Lord Jesus….I need more coffee.

When normal every day items are crazy expensive, I have a hard time taking the “value” seriously. Who buys a $130 candle? Even if I had that much money laying around I wouldn’t spend it on a candle. I find the prices on most of these items ridiculous for what they are. I never want anything in these crazy overpriced boxes.

I haven’t spent $130 on a candle but I’ve spent nearly $100. For me it’s the $70 sticker that seems pretty ridiculous. And if you’re the kind of person who spends $800 on a box of random stuff, wouldn’t you have upgraded your phone by now? I’d think that case would be on clearance by now.

Each kit looks great but they are both way too much money. 45 dollar hand soaps and 130 dollar candles sound nice but I can definitely live without them. In all reality I think one could put together a pretty amazing luxurious Valentines day box on their own for way less that includes similar items. Are any of u planning on getting these ?

Completely agree! Really expensive – overpriced, imo – and not much value either.
Usually net-a-porter boxes give great value to cost….but here , not so much. Usually with any box there are 1 or more items you don’t care about, but its ok because you got value for your buck. Here there’s a slim margin.
If I were going to spend that kind of money on a valentine gift, I would rather put it together myself and get what I really wanted.
