I’m apparently getting a Feb box despite skipping the month last week on Jan 20. I have unlimited skips (longtime subscriber, before they limited skips) so I’ve done it many times without issue. For some reason it didn’t work this time even though my profile still shows I skipped the month. Now I have to wait for it to arrive (in 10-12 days if shipping is as slow as always), wait to be sent a return label and then drop it off at the post office, all the while I’m still out $20 that shouldn’t have been charged in the first place. I would just cancel my sub if not for the unlimited skip feature. I may have to if this happens again. I’ve also started noticing that the polishes in the last year don’t have a very long shelf life compared to those sent the previous year. I guess it’s a function of them being “5 free” that they lack stabilizing preservatives. I had to pitch 8 bottles, 3 of which hadn’t even been opened, because they’d all turned gooey or just plain dried up (I’m assuming they didn’t start out that way). I don’t expect polish to last forever but I don’t think it unreasonable to expect an unopened bottle to last longer than a few months. None of my other 3/4/5 free polishes have this issue and some are over a year old. All in all, Julep isn’t impressing me in the least now.

I’m getting the dark purple nail polish and the powder highlighter that come in my box. I swapped out the second nail polish for the fan brush to go with the highlighting powder. I pay for 3 months at a time so there is no extra charge to do the customized boxes. $60 for 3 months. I also added the pen highlighter and mattifying face primer for $15. U can get just the highlighter pen for $11but for only $4 more I’m happy to try their primer, even though I have one that I’m obsessed with (dr. Brant).

So if I’m not already a maven I can’t get the February box? Is there a way to get around the welcome box?

I’ve been skipping for almost a year… just too many polishes at home. But I saw that I can select “The Smitten Kitten” box for $19.99 instead of the other colors. Hopefully this still counts as the Feb box for that cute bonus polish.

Ugh, I really want Hartleigh but I don’t really like any of the boxes this month and should probably be on a no-buy for polish anyway 🙁 I’m hoping it shows up on the swap site!

Not Julep related, but I thought I should give a heads up to any Quarterly subscribers.
I just received an email from them about their ‘improvements’. Reading about them on site, it seems that the boxes are no longer returnable.
Something they ought to have been more upfront about, I had to read their entire policy to catch that little nugget.
I immediately unsubscribed from Nina Garcia. I was holding on in case the previous high standard returned to form. Now I’m not taking any chances!

I’ve been skipping for like 6 months (because I have so much polish!), but I decided to go for the it girl box this time around and added the three metamorphic top coats with my jewels. I’ve been wanting to cancel (not because of the sub, just because I have a ton), but didn’t want to waste my jewels. Can’t wait to try everything!

I thought I’d be excited by February and I am. SUPER excited for the Hartleigh!
I went for Classic with a Twist, and added on the decals, the Ada polish, and Bright Eyed Duo in pink….

I just signed up in January so I’m new to how this works. Do they email you or something asking which nail polishes you’d like?

To select your box (if you don’t want your default profile) go to My account, log in and on the left hand side is a Maven Window (Open) and you can select Edit my box. Once you edit your box, click the save button at the bottom of the page and you should then receive an email with your updated selections. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I love the purples in this collection.

Your first month you don’t really get a maven box / choices… you get a welcome box (no choice). In future months you get to choose your colors (to a degree) on the 20th of the month….
