Thank you so much for posting this! I had been undecided about trying Birchbox but bit the bullet yesterday and used this promo. $7.35 a box was hard to beat! I am just wondering if I will receive the December box or whether January will be my first box. The December box looked so nice I am hoping to get it. Have done Ipsy for two months and have been a bit underwhelmed I must admit….

Oh, I think you can only use the code once? I decided to purchase the Men’s Yearly subscription as a present for my boyfriend and after, I thought, I’ll buy one for my mom as well. Except it didn’t accept the promo code for the second purchase. So I guess it’s only one use per account! Just FYI (unless I’m wrong).

Amye, lots of promo codes can be applied more than once if you use a different email. Sorry for the late FYI on this one!

Clarification: sometimes it works to set up a separate account with a different email (only) to use a code more than once.

Hey Liz!

I check your site everyday but never posted before!! I’ve been susbscribed to BirchBox for a few months but missed this deal last time so I took advantage of it today…

I just wanted you (and others) to know that you only get 88 points (not 880) if you use this deal. BB lists this on their website:

“CURRENT EXCHANGE RATES:
Each 100 reward points can be redeemed for $10.00.

Each $1.00 spent will earn 1 reward points.”

So you spend $88 (plus tax) and you get 88 points.
Still a great deal from $120 to $88 so you save $32 and can also get a free “mystery sample bonus pack”.

Thanks Liz for everything you do to share all this with us!!! You’re awesome. :]

ooopppssss, my bad * $110 – $88 = $22 that you save…the other $10 you will save is actually the cost of the sample packet before they deduct it….sorry!!!

my point however was still vaild, you only get 88 points not 880. :/

This is so tempting. For the past few months I have been re-subbing when there’s a good points promo. I may just commit to the full year- this looks too good to pass up!

I recently started a monthly BB and BBM subscription. Does anyone know if they do this promotion often or not? If the promotion comes out frequently, I think I’d stay monthly for now and upgrade to a yearly later. But if the promotion isn’t common, it might be worthy upgrading now.

Does anyone know if this has to be a new subscription? My yearly subscription is up in the spring so I wasn’t sure if they could just add it on to the end of my current subscription. Thanks!

This is what I would like to know as well… I’m nearly the end of my subscription on my main account and would love to add another year at this price.

So a general Aces question…if you get enough points to qualify for the Aces status in December of a year, does your status reset in January (to a non-Aces status)? The FAQ info on points isn’t clear about the timeframe you keep that status (that I could find anyway). OR once you make Aces status, would you keep that status for the next 365 days? I’m fairly new to Birchbox (5 months in) and wondering if I should be picking up that second account with this code 🙂 or waiting until, hopefully, a January code to get some points and build my status.

This is in response to Ayme Nicole’s question, my personal opinion is it depends……do you like more make up oriented things? If so, I’d say go with IPSY it’s also a $10 per month subscription. Birchbox has been more general skin care/perfume/lotion/shower gels. I subscribe to both just because I like to be exposed to the options both boxes offer. I do think you get at least $10 worth of product in both, but will you always like what is in each month’s box…..probably not. If you like to get new things to try each month and enjoy that aspect of the experience then try it out!

BB has excellent CS, lots of different brands, and a great price and points system. I do get too much perfume, body lotion and shower stuff though, and not enough makeup/face skincare despite my profile tweaks.

To Jen,

Thanks for the input! I do have an ipsy and I LOVE IT, so I don’t think Birchbox is for me (as I have a pretty regimented skin routine). Checked out the male Birchbox and think it’s a good idea for my boyfriend!

Thanks 🙂

I was always iffy on this box, especially since my friend said sometimes you get weird things like gum in it…is this worth it?

I love this subscription. The points system and customer service put it over the top as my favorite subscription box (and I get a LOT of them.) I have discovered some excellent products through BB and the points system makes it so easy to purchase them from their website for majorly discounted prices.
