Target Beauty Box for Her Review - December 2014 Giftcard

There is also a unique coupon code to use for $10 off a purchase at Dermstore.com. (From what I can tell there isn't a purchase dollar amount requirement).

Target Beauty Box for Her Review - December 2014 Lip

ChapStick 3-N-1 Total Hydration Lip Care in Sweet Peach - FULL SIZE! Value $3

Revlon HD Lacquer in Smoky Topaz - FULL SIZE! Value $9

I was originally thinking this would be a tinted lip balm because of the pink coloring on the label, but it's a clear balm. It is very moisturizing and I like the peach flavor - no complaints here!

This Revlon HD Lip Lacquer has a brush tip applicator, and it's a heavily pigmented gloss. It has a lot of shine and shimmer, but no stickiness - which is kind of amazing. This shade matches my lip color pretty well, so it's more of a natural look for me, which I like. (Colors will vary box-to-box with this item.)

Target Beauty Box for Her Review - December 2014 Mascara

L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara - Value $8

Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen – Black Noir (Mini) - Value $5

Thanks to subscription boxes I haven't had to purchase mascara in a while, and I must admit it has been a long time since I've purchased a drugstore brand mascara. This L'Oreal one is kind of incredible though, so that might change. It gives good volume, great length, and I love the lash separation. (I'm guessing the awesome lash separation is due part to the formula and part to the double wing brush, though I don't know if I even was using the wing brush correctly).

I always like Pixi products, but I think I'll pass this black eyeliner along to a friend or swap it - only because I have more black eyeliner than I could ever get through right now!

Target Beauty Box for Her Review - December 2014 Covergirl

COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers Kit in 286 Smokey Nudes - FULL SIZE! Value $6

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask - 20 ml Value $5.50

This eye enhancer shadow kit comes with a diagram of how to apply each shade on the back of the package - I always like that! The colors aren't as pigmented as I was hoping for, but they do blend really well.

This sleeping mask is a target exclusive. After cleansing your face, you apply the mask, leave it on overnight, and wash it off in the morning. It gets good reviews, and this sample should give me a few applications, so I'll give it a try!

Target Beauty Box for Her Review - December 2014 Hair

Hair Food Thickening Hair Treatment - FULL SIZE! Value $12

Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Advanced Serum - Sample

This hair thickening solution is supposed to add bounce and volume to your hair - you apply a few pumps to towel dried hair by the roots and massage it in. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm intrigued. (Each box will include either the Thickening hair treatment or the Moisture Mask).

This serum sample is the only item in the box I'm not impressed with - I don't get the point of sending out skincare 1-use samples when you need to use them for at least a week or two to see if there are any results.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $50 - awesome for the $10 price. Plus the bonus coupons are a nice addition. I also feel like this is a well-curated box of drugstore beauty products - not a box of random products.

What do you think of the Target Beauty Box for Her?

Liz, as the spring is approaching the Target spring box should be available soon. It sells out so fast, I hope you let us know on here when it is available. I enjoyed both mine and the men’s box and don’t want to miss out on it this season.

Great! Thanks so much for keeping all of us in the loop, Liz! I have never been able to get a Target box, so hoping for one this time. 🙂

Hello,

How do you know when a new Target beauty box is available? Is there a newsletter sign up for it?

Thanks!

This is my first Walmart box I subscribe to Ipsy and Boxycharm and to Wantable Beauty. I must say I am super impressed with this box. The price is great for the products I received. The Revlon HD Lacquer I received was in Garnet and I thought oh no not for me. But to my surprise the formula is spectacular, very pigmented like a liquid lipstick and the color was really nice on me. Just the reason I get boxes, to try something I would not have bought for myself. Excited to try the Laneige mask!!!

Sorry I meant to say my Target box I want to clarify that. I want all to know how excited I was about this box and it’s contents. It was a fabulous value and can’t wait till the next one

Just used the $10 off coupon at dermstore.com and got an eye makeup remover and two bonus hair clips for a little over $1! Plus free 1-3 day shipping. Doesn’t get much better than that!

I got mine last night. I’m super happy with it. My lip gloss was Citrine, a bright orange that I had just fallen in love with on Temptalia’s site. (seriously – I almost bought it this weekend, but told myself to wait and see what color Target sent me) My eyeshadows are purpley, and I got the moisturizing hair mask (which I will use) instead of the thickener (which I wouldn’t have used).

Basically, if they’d gone down a list and asked me to choose my options for each item, I would have ended up with exactly this box.

This box is fantastic. I received the full size hair mask instead of the thickening serum and it’s huge and smells divine. The eye enhancers are perfect. Purple, green, silver, nude is great for my green eyes. The mascara works wonderfully. The face mask will last me over a month, bigger then expected. The lip color is a coral pink with shimmer and looks great. The pixi liner is creamy. This box is amazing. It was beautifully boxed. I’m sorry I didn’t get one for a friend now, they would actually think I spent a lot more!!!

I didn’t order this box. It looks great. I may order some as gifts the next time it is being offered.

They don’t ship ALASKA. Even though we have Target stores in our state.

But the Walmart ships their box to our state.

Very pleased with this box. I received the hair product I was hoping for (the volumizer) and my Revlon gloss is a bright, sparkly orangey/red — it reminds me of a NARS lip lacquer I used to have called Hell Fire (purchased mostly for the name). And I got the Natural Nude palette, which is going straight in my purse for touch-ups. Excited to try the mask — I’ve been trying other overnight masks with some great results, so this will go into the rotation immediately. IMO, this round of Target boxes puts some of the higher end boxes to shame. But maybe I’m just a drugstore girl at heart…

I l9ved both boxes but this one was missing the Pixi liner. I am a huge eyeliner fan so I’m quite disappointed. I haven’t reached out to Target yet as I’m unsure of how they handle customer service for the beauty boxes. Does anyone know? Thanks!

I would try Facebook or Instagram-targetstyle and good luck!!!

Great idea! Thanks!

Target has horrible customer service. I was missing a product (the entire reason I bought the box) in their fall beauty box. I was told to talk to customer service online. The online representative told me, “return box to store in person, order a new one online if available still.” I took the box and the plastic wrapping with my shipping address on it to their nearest store. The customer service representative told me, “there is no barcode for me to scan, I can’t give you a refund.” She told me to contact support online again. I repeated the process without getting anywhere. End result: No product, no refund, a headache, and cost me more in gas than the $4-5 stick was worth. I hope you have better luck with them than I did.

I got mine yesterday and it is the same as Liz’s except for I got a blue eyeliner. Also the dermstore code is awesome….there is no min. Purchase required and the shipping is free, I ordered a Tokyo Milk candle today and only had to pay $2 plus I got a free mystery gift, as well as free samples!! This box was a total score! They do have products less than $10 ( nail polish, lipstick etc…) so you can score a product for completely free!

I couldn’t get the dermstore code to work…it comes off initially but when you have to confirm the purchase it takes it off.

I got an email saying mine was delayed and I’ll get it before Christmas eve :/

I got the same variations as Liz. I really love the Chapstick – the scent isn’t super strong and I’m surprised by how long it keeps my lips hydrated. I’m really happy that I got the Smokey Nudes quad – I agree that it’s not super pigmented, but they’ll add a nice shimmer over something from my UD or Too Face palettes. I had a weird experience with the hair thickening serum. I applied it after wrapping my hair up in a towel for ~10 mins (so not right out of the shower) and it made my scalp burn! It wasn’t unbearable so I decided not to wash it out, but it was definitely not a pleasant sensation. It’s strange because I’ve used other similar products without the nasty side effect. It did pump up the volume – but at what cost? Lol.

Jamie

I had that same issue, but since I was getting ready for work I just had to let it go. As I was drying my hair I noticed the alcohol on the ingredients label, I agree that’s probably why it burns.

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

It was the alcohol in the hair product that was probably the culprit to your scalp burning. I was really surprised that it was listed high up in a thickening item.

My box is missing the Revlon HD Lacquer 🙁
if i contact Target, how is their customer service?

I agree with what y’all have said: these boxes were a steal! The Naturals one, surprisingly, was a complete hit for me. I typically don’t care about lotions and other body products, but everything seemed designed just for me!

I’m so with you about the mascara, Liz. I have more than I need, and it’s all higher end. But that L’oreal stuff is awesome! Just looking at the cool wand made me break down and try it. The only things I won’t use are the serum sample (I wouldn’t care about it even if it were larger) and the hair food (I have thick, curly hair and so I hardly need something to add volume!). My husband loved the men’s box, too. For $20 total for all three, the boxes were a win!

I don’t always mind the little foil packets. They at least let me know if something has a strong fragrance, or if it irritates my skin (I’ll usually know after the first use if a new product will bother my sensitive skin).

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

That’s a good point – at least you can cross it off your list.

Reply ButtonReply

Leah

So jealous of the pretty lip gloss you got! I got a bright red. I also got a red in the Sample Society box. And I don’t wear red. What do I do with all of these?! 🙂 UGH.

(I also got browns in the eyeshadow. I like the colors you got much better. This sounds a bit like I’m in kindergarten but what can I say….I’m jealous 🙂 )

Reply ButtonReply

Haley

I am kicking myself for not getting this awesome value box! So I’ll imagine I’d have received makeup colors that don’t suit me to keep my jealously at bay 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Leah

Ha, good tactic 🙂 The value is definitely there, and I would buy it again with another “colors will vary” option, but for me personally, I could’ve bought the mascara alone for that price. Most of the other stuff is worthless to me with the bad colors.

Adrienne

I was able to use the Dermstore coupon to get a $10 Philosophy lip gloss for free with free shipping.

I bought 5 Butter London nail files at $2 each. Code worked fine and received email confirmation. I got a shipping notice later that they were shipping 3 and had charged $6.41 on my credit card. I called and customer service was wonderful. They refunded my credit card and sent the other 2 out with no charge that same day. I would shop with them again!

I got it!

I can’t get it to work. Did you put the code under promotional code?

My Revlon gloss was super bright. But I’m happy about that! I was also sort of expecting the Chapstick to be tinted based on the packaging although, truthfully, I’m glad it’s not.

I hope they make it an actual “subscription” box so that we can sign up for it to be shipped every time one is available. All 3 of the boxes they had for sale were sold out immediately. C’mon Target, get with the program. Even Walmart’s box is a subscription.

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

I got an email from Target the other day saying the coupon for the 20% off apparel is wrong and they gave a new code, it’s only good online. So make sure to check the email you used to order the box to get the correct coupon code!

I ordered 3 boxes for stocking stuffers (plus 1 for myself). All 3 boxes were identical with the eye shadow (different than Liz’s) and all had the thickening treatment. I don’t mind the shadow (I do prefer Liz’s), but I wish we would have received the hair mask. ….. but great value. I did prefer the Target Naturals box better.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I love this box, even the things I won’t use I definitely got money’s worth. I purchased 2 so I could have extra for gifts or stocking stuffers. I really loved all the Target boxes this time around. When is the Walmart box shipping? I thought they automatically sent one each season, you didn’t have to buy it like the Target box.

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda Herren

Yeah, I just got a shipping notice from walmart also. Check your spam folder, that’s where mine was….which is wired because none of my other walmart emails go to my spam.

I just got an email from Wal-Mart that my box shipped yesterday, so they are shipping out now.

I like the Smokey Nudes eyeshadow palette in Liz’s box. I ordered 2 of this box in hopes of getting some color variations. Both boxes were exactly the same. The palette was Natural Nudes which is more of a warm tan color set so that won’t work on me very well. The lip gloss was a cool, medium pink so I can wear that. Love the mascara, face mask and chapstick so the box is a win for me!
