Target Naturals Beauty Box Review - December 2014 Box

On December 1st I posted about the 3 new Target Beauty Boxes that had launched, and I think they all sold out within 48 hours or so. I grabbed all three, and the first one I'm reviewing is the Natural Beauty Box. (FYI - if you want to make sure you don't miss out on the next Target Beauty Box, make sure to sign up for the daily newsletter!)

Target Naturals Beauty Box Review - December 2014 Burts Bees

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie - 3.2 oz Value $2.50

Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes with White Tea Extract - (10 count) Value $3

This SheaMoisture styling cream has a fruity tropical scent. It feels a little summery right now, but I like it! I used a tiny amount on dry hair and it seems to do a good job with making my hair a little softer and fighting frizz.

I always need makeup remover wipes, and I love the white tea scent of these ones from Burt's Bees!

Target Naturals Beauty Box Review - December 2014 Acure

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub - 1 oz Value $3.75

Skinfix Hand Repair Cream - 1 oz Value $9

I've used this Acure facial scrub before and I love it, so I'm always happy to get a travel sized version! And I've tried the Skinfix brand before, but this hand cream is new to and I'm a fan! It's a rich moisturizing cream with a subtle scent that absorbs quickly - exactly what I want in a hand cream.

Target Naturals Beauty Box Review - December 2014 Shampoo

Borghese Age-Defying Cellulare Complex Exfoliate Facial Scrub - 1 oz Value $4

SoapBox Shampoo with Restorative Argan Oil - 2 oz Value $1?

Borghese is the one brand in this box that I didn't think of as "natural," but it's alcohol and paraben free, so I'm thinking that's a part of the selection process. (I'm allergic to FD&C Red 40 dye, which is in this product, so I can't try it).

(I couldn't find the SoapBox shampoo for sale online, so I'm estimating the value). I'm not too crazy about the shampoo scent, but I do like their regular bar soap and liquid soap.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $23.50 - amazing for the $5 cost. If Target made this a monthly box I would subscribe in a heartbeat! My favorite discovery in this box is definitely the hand cream - it's perfect timing for winter!

Did you get the Natural Target Beauty Box? What do you think of the items?

This looks great! How can I sign up for Targets Beauty box? Or get notified when another one goes on sale?

Did anyone have a weird billing issue on their box purchase? It kept staying as “pending” on my debit card since I ordered and today it just dropped off. I didn’t get charged, but I’ve received 3 of my 5 boxes.

Liz, I LOVE your website and all of your reviews. They are so helpful! I am bummed because for some reason, but only once in a while, your emails get sent to my junk mail, so I missed out on this…darn Yahoo mail 🙂 Do you know if Target has an email list you can subscribe to to get updates on the beauty boxes they offer? Thanks for all that you do!

For really good deals, you can’t wait for the daily e-mail! (Stuff sells out too fast.) You have to check this site a lot.

I ordered 2 of the naturals, 2 of the beauty, and 1 of the men’s (wish I had ordered more!) I received 1 natural and the men’s yesterday. I have not received any others yet, but I did receive an email yesterday stating that the last 3 have shipped.

These are great Christmas gifts!

I just had to comment that this review is on point and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. I needed to verify each items price for a stocking stuffer thing my family is doing which is $1+ and I wanted a review on the products. This box was a steal so I wish I ordered 1 for myself!!

I ordered all 3 right away when I saw them listed on the email. I received all 3 today and am very pleased with them. The corner of the mens box was smashed but nothing was damaged inside. I was more bummed it was smashed because the boxes could be reused and that one was black while the other ones were white. I’m super impressed with what we got for no more than I paid! I will definitely order them again in the future next time Target offers a box!!

How did I miss that there were more box options than the natural box? I would have ordered 3 varieties of Target’s box had I known. I ordered 2 of the natural box, glad I did after reading this review! So confused as to how I missed the other 2 boxes though…..

So far it has only been a few times a year. Hopefully they start doing them more frequently though!

*the other two boxes I received were the mens and regular beauty to clarify. 🙂

I ordered all 3 and got them the other day. I kept the “Natural” box for myself, one for my brother and one for my mom. I feel like I got SUCH a good deal. Perfect for stocking stuffers! The boxes they come in are so cute and nice to keep!

I’m so sad that these sold out so fast!!!! I saw them on your site then for some reason hesitated in buying and before I knew it they were gone!

I love this box and I ordered several for gifting. So glad that I caught them before they were sold out. My first box arrived and the shampoo leaked. Nothing was ruined, but I’m glad that I opened it out of curiosity and averted disaster. Now I will have to open all of the boxes to check for this leaking shampoo. The men’s boxes are pretty awesome too. Not bad for $5 and free shipping!

It’s not a subscription – I think Liz means just sign up for the My Subscription Addiction email newsletter and she will post when they are available again.

I didn’t realize the curl smoothie would be so big! I’d have ordered about five of them, instead of just one, if I had known. Just FYI, it isn’t really a styling cream. You use it on wet hair and it’s more like a leave in masque/heavy conditioner. Don’t use too much! I have long wavy, dry hair and love this line of SheaMoisture stuff. Can’t wait for my box to arrive!

Replying to myself since we can’t edit – you really need to google to find out how to use this product for your particular hair type, or you will almost definitely hate it. It was designed for African-American hair, and my best friend uses about a 1/4 cup of it each time she uses it (and it’s pricey when you use that much, so she doesn’t use it often). I have long, white-girl-wavy dry hair, and I use maybe a teaspoon of it and only on the bottom third of my hair while it’s still soaking wet. The first time I used it I used as much as my friend said she used and I had some not so great results. But I love it now that I figured out how to use it.

Wait, I shouldn’t have said any of this. It sucks! You will hate it! Swap it to me!!!

I will swap you mine too! I also have straight Asian hair!

LOL Shelley. I will definitely swap with you since I have asian straight hair.

I haven’t even got the shipping notification yet.

I haven’t gotten a shipping notification for mine either. I ordered the “for her” beauty box on Cyber Monday at 3pm. Haven’t heard anything back yet……..It’s making me anxious!

Cindy H.

I ordered one natural and one for her. The for her box just popped up at my house when I got home earlier. When I talked to target CS, he was telling me it’s being processed to ship. He didn’t even know it’s on the way already. I checked the tracking #, it was actually mailed out last Friday. I guess they forgot to send me an email! But i thought my 2 boxes will come at the same time.

PA Anna

The shampoo is exclusive to Target. I can’t figure out if it is safe for color-treated hair. Also I am not sure if the formula will aggravate my rosacea. I’m happy with everything else in the box!

I ordered all 3, as well. I received this box yesterday, but for some reason the other two are still sitting the same place they were 6 days ago. You’d think they’d all move together.

Anyway, box was great save for the fact my shampoo leaked all over, destroying the paper and bleeding into the box. All the other items were covered in the goo as well. If it weren’t just $5, I would have asked for a refund. You’d think they’d package it better.

This box looks great, I can’t wait to get mine! I ordered 2 of the naturals and 2 of the “her” box and one of the men’s. I already got the men’s and really like it for a christmas gift.
