Square Hue Nail Polish Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Info

This month the destination from the Passport Collection is Rovaniemi.

Square Hue Nail Polish Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Red

Square Hue Polish in Revontuli

Square Hue Polish in Joulupukin Pajakyla

This green shade is a suede finish with just a hint of micro shimmer. The red shade is a cranberry-colored micro glitter.

Square Hue Nail Polish Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Gold

Square Hue Polish in Sampokeskus

This gold shade is described as a textured micro glitter. Comparing it to the red micro glitter, I think that just means a lot more glitter! It's a super sparkly light gold shade.

Verdict: These shades are very expected for December - but I can't really fault Square Hue for that. I think they are all beautiful and wearable colors. What do you think of the December Square Hue box?

Rovaniemi was also my surprise box for my subscription starting on February. The red is really beautiful (caught my eye right away when I opened the box), but I’ll say too that those colors are very Christmas-themed and might hardly match with any spring or Valentine’s Day theme. Plus I’m not that much of a glitter person either, although I noticed Sampokeskus seems to be a less opaque color than its counterparts, so might ne able to use it to add some spark to more matte polishes, or would be a discreet golden to your nails. I’m just guessing though.

But I’ll admit I would have appreciated another type of surprise box. But hey, it was a SURPRISE box. Can’t complain for more nail polishes.

I received this 1214 box as my free/extra box with new subscription, so I’m a little disappointed since these colors are not really applicable to February or spring. Well, I guess the red could be considered Valentine’s-ish, but I’m more of a pink Valentine than a red Valentine. And I don’t like glitter. Oh well. (Thankfully, the February 1910 colors were fabulous!)

Hello! I am interested in getting my daughter a subscription for nail polish for Christmas. I don’t know much about nail polish, but I do know that she uses this ‘gel’ type which she has to cure under UV lights. I have done some research and there are at least 5 nail-polish substriptions available…like Square Hue, ColorMeMonthly, Nailette, etc. I guess my question is: which ones only send ‘gel’ ones, or at least give you the option to get only ‘gel’ ones. Thanks!

I love them! And I thought that the formula was pretty good on the two boxes I got, I just wish they’d show us in advance, so we could skip or not. It’s just too expensive for me, for something I might not wear each month. 🙁
