GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Scrub

Balanced Guru Scrub Me Nice and Gritty Body Scrub – 1 oz  Value $3

Sheaterra Organics Bourbon Vanilla Whipped Shea Butter – 1 oz Value $2

I LOVE the scents of both of these items. The body scrub is made with coffee beans and smells just like a coffee shop when you open the container. And the bourbon vanilla whipped shea butter smells like pure natural vanilla bean extract to me – it’s wonderful. (Now I have to try this shea butter in the other scents they offer: Gingered Pumpkin and Bananas and Baobabs).

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Polish

Aila Nail Polish in #LikeABoss – FULL SIZE Value $17

Ecojot Pen on Wood Mini Notepad – Value $5

I have never loved a nail polish name more! Plus this is a wonderful festive holiday shimmer color. And while I usually have notebook overload thanks to subscription boxes, I think this wooden mini notepad is adorable!

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Palma

Au Naturale Eye Shadow Cream Stick – Sample Value $7?

(If you read my latest Petit Vour review, then you already know I love this brand!)

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – Dec 2014 Eyeshadow

The shade I received is Palma – it’s a semi-sheer metallic creme.

Verdict: This is one of favorite GoodeBoxes yet. I will use every single item, and I think everything is a good size too. I paid $18 for this box and received about $34 worth of items, so the value is good too!

What do you think of the December 2014 GoodeBox?

  1. I keep checking the shop to see if January boxes are for sale and decided to sign up for a membership tonight. The profile asked a variety of questions. I am hopeful that means no eye products. It will be nice to receive no eye products because of my chronic eye disease. They also had rosacea as a list of possible concerns. I love the idea of items that I can use (rosacea is limiting) and no eye products 🙂

I received another order from Pelle Beauty this week using the Goodebox code. I was rushing around on Christmas Eve and knocked over the Stella serum which spilled onto the floor. It was half-empty so I decided to buy the Luxe serum which works much better on my rosacea. It was wrapped beautifully with samples. I may try the idea of using Stella as a cleanser per their website. The best part is Marnie from Pelle Beauty informed me the discount code has been extended until the end of February! I strongly recommend Luxe for rosacea. It has been a stressful beginning of the year and I ran out of my regular cleanser which impacted the rosacea. Luxe calmed it down right away and is now taking that puffiness/skin thickening/inflammation out of face. I need to find out how long Luxe is stable unopened and order more before the discount ends.

  2. I liked this box, but was pretty disappointed in the cream eyeshadow. It does not stay on. The only trace of it after an hour was a few stray sparkles. I’m always careful not to rub my eyes, so I guess blinking and oily skin rubbed it all off. Maybe it’s an oily skin issue? anyway, I’d probably never wear this as it doesn’t stay on. The primer wasn’t included as part of the sample in this box, but maybe that helps? If so they should have included it as I won’t try the brand again based on this.

The polish is nice, though I haven’t tried it on my hands, so not sure about chipping yet. I think the base coat and gel top coat would be more interesting to try. I wish some of these boxes would do that instead of a color polish.

The shea terra smells wonderful, a bit waxier than I expected from whipped shea butter though.

Overall it was a nice assortment of products.

  3. I used my GoodeBox codes to order more Tatcha body cream and a few products from Balanced Guru.

    • Both orders arrived before Christmas. I’m not going to write much about Tatcha because I’ve written about them before. I do love the handwritten note that is on the packing letter. I always check and it is something different each time.

Balanced Guru was fun to open. It was wrapped like a sub box with tissue paper and a bow that had the name of the person who packed the box. My younger son was there when I opened it and wanted to know where was the fifth item. He’s used to seeing 5 items in a box and did not believe it wasn’t a sub box because the packaging looked that closely to a sub box to him. Everything looks great.

I had no issues using the discount codes. Everything arrived quickly. No problems 🙂

  4. FYI–Goodebox has been doing a 12 Days of Giving promotion with a daily deal from 12/8 – 12/ 19. Today’s deal has not been updated, however.

  5. FWW, the Shea Terra sample *looks* really tiny, but I’ve been using it on my hands for almost a week now and have only made a tiny dent in it. Smells sooooo good and is really effective on my super-dry hands. Can’t really imagine using this as a body lotion, though, because it’s almost paste like until it melts in – it would be hard to spread, I would think. Perfect for nails and cuticles, though! Haven’t tried the rest out yet, but the notepad is very cute, the nail polish is a great color, and the eyeshadow color looks promising. Have about 1000 scrub samples to get to before this one, so I’m leaving it sealed for now.

  6. This looks like a pretty nice assortment (I love the notebook) and almost makes me consider giving goodebox another try. In the past I found it to be very hit or miss, and over time just not worth the cost. I received the same eye shadow creme stick from petit vour and, while I love it, it wouldn’t be exciting to get two in one month. Also, I like nail polish but it seems like the natural/vegan boxes are constantly sending out nail polish as the full-sized item. Often it’s the ONLY full sized item. It gets a little underwhelming after awhile.

  7. I love Shea Terra. I received the Bananas and Baobabs in a Birchbox a long time ago and it smells like Circus Peanuts. I actually like the smell. 🙂

  8. Though this was not my favourite box from them I like it enough. I have just cancelled Vegan Cuts since they have too much holistic stuff and the colours are always a miss ( in 6 months I only got 2 make up items that didn’t end in the trash can). The colours they send in Goodebox are more neutral thus more easy to use.

  9. I like this box ok. Love the Shea Terra, but hate to see any more nail polish in boxes to elevate the value of the box. Also this is the box that they send if you buy a gift box. I think this box looks very cheap as far as a gift goes, even though the recipient knows organic /natural brands. I love the notebook, but when I went to order extra ones, they want $12 to ship up to a $50 order, then shipping goes further up.

  10. I ordered this box as a one time purchased. I love this box. The body butter smells delicious. I used the scrub a few times. Everyone in the family has commented how much they like the smell which they can smell outside the bathroom. The oils leave my body silky. I gave my sister the nail polish and the eye cream which she is going to use over the holidays. I like the notebook which fits into my purse.

I’m adding the scrub to my Balanced Guru shopping list in Jan. That is one code I will be using.

  11. This does look like a great box. I like Balanced Guru and Shea Terra, and the nail polish is very pretty (though I did buy one from Zoya on Black Friday that was almost the same).
