Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – November 2014 Box

Eco Emi recently launched a Deluxe Beauty Box in addition to their regular monthly box offering. I had subscribed to the regular Eco Emi box for a while, but ended up canceling since the samples were often very small. As soon as I found out about this deluxe-sized version of their subscription I signed up!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – November 2014 Lipstick

Haughty Cosmetics Polished Blush - FULL SIZE! Value $28

Medusas Makeup Lipstick in Triple X - FULL SIZE! Value $12

This blush is a nice wearable color for me, and it has shimmer finish. It's also easy to blend. The applicator is a little unusual though:

applicator

(This picture is from Haughty Cosmetics). It's a sponge material that you squeeze the liquid blush through. It's an interesting idea, but it doesn't seem super sanitary to me. If I'm using a sponge to blend in blush everyday, I need to use a new sponge with some frequency. I'll probably just remove this part of the container.

The lipstick is a little too bold for my tastes, so I may gift or swap it.

Eco Emi Deluxe Beauty Box Subscription Review – November 2014 Body Wash

Trinite Organiques Aloe Shea Souffle Body Butter - FULL SIZE! Value $22

Deep Steep Body Wash in Brown Sugar + Vanilla - FULL SIZE! $10

This body butter is a solid, but as soon as you start rubbing it into your skin it warms up and absorbs. It has Frankincense essential oil in it, but I really only can detect the shea butter scent. It works great - I just kind of wish it was a little more scented! (I like the brown sugar scent of the body wash though - so I'm good!)

Verdict: I'm really impressed that every item included this month is full size! Even though I won't use the lipstick, I still feel like I got my money's worth. I paid $22 for this box and received $72 worth of beauty items - I'm happy!

What do you think of the November Eco Emi Beauty Box?

I tried out the Shea Radiance Hair Butter today for the first time. I am excited for this product because I have thick wavy hair which sometimes also curls too. I receive lots of volumizing products in sub boxes, but very few products for wavy/curly hair.

I have no idea how to use it correctly so I scooped some out on a spoon and warmed it up in my hands. It quickly soften which I rub into towel-dried hair. I air dried my hair as usually and then put in a little of shine serum. The hair is soft with well-defined waves. I will keep using it. I did look around the internet and couldn’t tell how often it should be used etc. Anyone have more information?

I’m also hoping to try out the seaweed detox bath in the next few days. The mascara and eye shadow I passed onto my sister because of my eye problems. I can’t wait to see what is in the January box!

Oops. This is in the December box. I don’t want to confuse anyone.

I ordered the $10.00 custom box because I am almost out of the balanced guru spray from the October box. I added in the rose cuticle oil to give to my sister, a decongestant cream, and a hot chocolate mix. I’ll give the hot chocolate mix to my sister if it is gluten-free. It sounds delicious – cocoa, dark chocolate and a hint of cinnamon.

Has anyone ordered the $55.00 bonus box?

I subscribed to the eco sample boxes, I like this one so much better, decided to cancel another box and subscribe to this one. Just hoping that they would never put another lipstick like this one in a box. – I hope they continue to put the fun beauty products in other boxes.

I am going to consider subscribing to this box rather than Glossy Box when my GB subscription ends in January. Thanks.

I didn’t check into the lipstick that closely. I did click on the link and saw it was vegan. I do like the rest of my box and plan to buy December’s box.

I am assuming the “synthetic beeswax” is to keep it vegan. Real beeswax would make it not vegan!

I think it must be difficult and/or expensive to replace some animal-derived products (beeswax, collagen, keratin, lanolin, etc.) with vegan alternatives. If you also eliminate petroleum-derived ingredients (like mineral oil or many polymers), you’re getting to the point where you’re eliminating most of the available ingredients and there’s not much left to work with.

I’m a vegetarian but not a vegan, I don’t worry so much about using non-vegan beauty products, and I have a PhD in chemistry and I work on chemistry/biotechnology patent applications, so I understand what most of the chemicals are. Although a box should try to stay true to its stated mission (that’s why people sign up for it, after all), I don’t get all upset about most ingredients. I’m really only peeved when something smells dreadful, as though something went wrong in the manufacturing process (like the pop beauty lipgloss or the BaB mascara from ipsy earlier this year).

ALERT!-the Medusas lipstick has MINERAL OIL and chemicals and what is “synthetic besswax” ? I would not use or give this away. Really not up to ECOEMI standards-dissapointed

I have to say this box is super disappointing because the medusas lipstick is filled with parabens and artificial fragrance. Isnt this box supposed to be geared towards all natural and ecofriendly ingredients? Does anyone know exactly what their premise is?

I’m happy with my box. The body wash smells wonderful. I am going to use the body butter on a scar because it says it is good on scars. I may save it for that if it does a good job. I think the blush color will look good on me. I did try out the lipstick which looks great and is the same color as Liz’s. I don’t wear eye makeup so bold lipstick is fine by me. The first two boxes are wonderful and am looking forward to the December box.

I like the looks of this a lot more than their regular sub. I’m not really into the Etsy-type stuff they put in the regular box (getting some makeup remover with stuff floating in it kind of didn’t help with that). But I’ve heard of some of these brands before.

I’m not big on sponge applicators for repeated use, either. (The concealer I use most often has a sponge applicator that I hate.) And knowing my luck, I’d manage to squeeze out too much blush every time and either let it get crusty on the sponge or go around looking like a clown.

I must say I’m totally impressed with this box. Four full size items and definitely things that I would use even the lipstick. If it looks to bright on me I would blot it and tone it down with a tinted lipgloss.

Do you know if this box is still available? I would use everything in it and the value is superb!

Email them. They posted a link last month for a one time purchase of the October box which I purchased after reading Liz’s review. I liked it so much that I subscribed to the monthly sub. Hopefully they will have extra boxes so you can purchase one.

I’m so glad you got this box, I’ve been dying to try their beauty subscription but have been nervous. This box looks fantastic and I’d use every single item. The blush looks a little odd, but 4 full sized items is very impressive.
