Batch Charleston Subscription Box Review – November 2014 Cookies

Granna's Gourmet Pickled Okra - Value $7

Grey Ghost Bakery Molasses Spice Cookies - Value $9

We've received Grey Ghost Bakery cookies in subscription boxes a few times before, and they are always a hit! (My husband absolutely loved the molasses spice variety). I've never tried Pickled Okra before, but that's why I wanted to subscribe to a box like this - hopefully it is good!

Batch Charleston Subscription Box Review – November 2014 Rice

Bulls Bay Sea Salt Charleston Sea Salt - Value $7.50

Carolina Plantation Aromatic Rice - Value $5.45

Since I don't eat gluten, rice is a pretty permanent staple in my diet. I'm always happy to get new varieties in subscription boxes. And of course this salt will go to use too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $29 - almost exactly the cost. In general food boxes don't usually provide a value over the cost of the box, so I'm OK with this one coming in just slightly under.  For me this box is more about the curation - almost all of the products we get each month are new-to-us. What do you think of Batch Charleston?

I live in Charleston so I’m always interested to see what’s in these boxes. They look pretty good. For those of you who don’t know, rice was the main plantation crop here, not cotton, so it’s an important part of Charleston’s history.

Okay, that’s my history lesson for the day! 🙂

Demure

This looks like a nice subscription for me to consider.

I had a question. If you pick Batch- charleston, will you always get a Charleston box? Or are you just picking what you wanted your first box to be?
If I decided on Nashville, will I keep getting Nashville products month after month or will I get Charleston, Austin etc in the months to follow?

You should get whichever city you choose. They have quite a few different subscription options! 🙂
