Wantable is a monthly subscription service that has 3 different plans: Makeup, Accessories, and Intimates. (And coming soon – Fitness!) It’s one of the pricier subscriptions ($36 a month), but everything they send is full size, and they fully customize the boxes based on your preferences.

Wantable sent me this makeup box at no cost to review.  (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

You get to take a very detailed survey of what items you love, like and dislike. You won’t receive anything in your dislike list.

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Eye Shadow

Tarina Tarantino Eye Dream Highlight Duo in Jasper and Agate – Value $19

(Tarina Tarantino seems to be in a lot of Wantable makeup boxes lately!) Fortunately I don’t mind because I love a good palate (or eye shadow duo) and this one is probably double the size of the typical eye shadow pan. I love the neutral colors too. Both shades have a good amount of shimmer and pigmentation. This is a very usable product for me!

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Gloss

Ofra BB Cream in Light – Value $40

Vincent Longo Lip Gloss in Lili La Bella – Value $22

This is the largest BB Cream I think I’ve ever seen. (I don’t believe it’s only 2 ounces!) Anyway, I had to give it a try immediately because if it works for me than I have BB Cream for the next full year! What I liked: The coloring is very natural looking and matched my skin tone perfectly. What I didn’t like: I prefer my BB Creams to have medium-high coverage, but this Ofra version provides little coverage and is more like a sheer tinted moisturizer. I’m also not crazy about the scent, but it seems to fade after a while.

This lipgloss is a good basic color for me, and it goes on pretty sheer. It has a little amount of stickiness, but I have no complaints otherwise!

Wantable Makeup Subscription Box Review – October 2014 Nail Polish

Spellbound Nail Lacquer in Premonition – Value $14

Chella Awesome Auburn Eyebrow Color Pencil – Value $18

This nail polish is a VERY dark midnight blue. I’m not sure I’d wear the color so I may end up gifting/swapping it. And unfortunately this eyebrow pencil is too red for my eyebrows. (I really like Chella too, so that was a disappointment!)

Verdict: This month’s box has a value of about $113. (I think that’s one of the best values I’ve ever received from a Wantable Makeup Box). I used to have a very specific and limited preferences profile, but now that I’ve opened it up to variety I think my value has improved too. I won’t use everything in this box unfortunately, but I am pleased with the brands and the value they sent.

What did you get from Wantable Makeup this month?

  1. I decided to go and recheck your wantable reviews since I forget what you received. I am not subscribed but with the half off box I wanted to see if it is worth it. I never really thought this box to be worth it to me. If they were $21 like Boxycharm or even $25 I would probably try it and see how it fits me. I don’t see the box being worth $36 for the value to me personally. You normally receive $100+ with Boxycharm. I like that it is customized though!

For $18 I may try it but I am still really on the fence. Especially since I have Boxycharm, ipsy, birchbox and receive a lot of makeup not getting used up fast enough each month.

I do like Tarino Tarintino and Ofra cosmetics though. I like the fun themes with my other subs too.

    I will think about it..

I wish for $36 a month you were guaranteed a $100 value. I know that sounds bad but after all Boxycharm is $21 and you receive $100. I don’t want to pay $36 and receive $50-60 in value for items I am not sure to love or even use.

  2. I got my Wantable box in yesterday. It was my second one. After the first one gave me a lot of products that weren’t “me” I made much stricter selections in my profile. This month the products were closer, but after seeing what you got I decided to expand my profile again. I have yet to receive more than 4 products, and while they are good quality, the value of the box is nowhere near what I’m getting with others. Not really sure if I’ll keep it or not.

  3. You can paint your nails the midnight blue and use the Halloween nail art from PopSugar 🙂 Right now I have my set on skip for this month.

  4. Wow, nice box….I got the Wantables makeup box for about 4 months before I discovered BoxyCharm and switched over. I just recently decided to give the Wantables Intimates a one-time purchase after seeing a couple of pretty awesome unboxings.

Love your blog and your reviews…Thanks so much!

  5. I gave Wantable make up a whirl now that they’ve added warm/cool options as I’m firmly in the cool toned spectrum.
I received 2 black mascaras, the same black polish as Liz and a sludgy nude lip gloss.
I think the value was about $64, nowhere near the value of other boxes. Which would be fine if I could use the items.
I’m no vampire – I returned the box.
