Untoxicating Beauty is an eco-friendly beauty subscription box. Unlike other boxes that send a variety of brands each month, Untoxicating Beauty sends out several products from one eco-friendly brand each month. It’s a little riskier if you don’t like the brand, but if you do – it can be a great value, and a great way to discover new brands!
I really like this box since they have featured a lot of brands that I haven't seen in subscription boxes before, so I'm a little bummed to report that they are currently pausing their subscription. (All subscribers will get a refund for the October box).
They sent an email to subscribers letting us know that they've gotten a lot of feedback on the boxes and will be back with something even better in 2015.
I hate to say it, but I don't think they'll be back. Typically "pausing" a subscription is a softer way of "canceling" it. And I can't think of any good example of a subscription box company that paused for several months and then successfully returned. I hope I'm wrong though!
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Each box comes with a letter detailing the brand featured in the box and why it is “untoxicating.” This month they are featuring Intelligent Nutrients Hair Care.

They featured this exact same brand last month, so I'm not surprised this is their last box. Sending the exact same brand two months in a row is not OK.

Intelligent Nutrients Certified Organic Leave-In Conditioner - Value $31
Intelligent Nutrients Certified Organic Volumizing Spray - Value $31
Fortunately I really like the shampoo and conditioner from this brand in the August box, otherwise I would be pretty disappointed to find that they were featuring the exact same brand two months in a row.
Verdict: In general I've really enjoyed this subscription and I'm sad to see it is ending (at least for now). I know it's not an ideal subscription for everyone, but I liked trying out a few full size products from a new brand each month.
