Mantry Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - August 2014 Cold Brew

Bob's Red Mill Natural Pearl Couscous - Value $4

Grady's Cold Brew Iced Coffee Bean Bags - Value $12

My husband has declared Grady's Cold Brew Bags his favorite subscription box discovery of all time! We first sampled this product through the Limited Edition Men's Cool Hunting Birchbox, and my husband was beyond thrilled to find more in the Mantry box this month! (These are currently out of stock everywhere online, but hopefully I'll be able to buy him more soon!)

Pata Negra Imperial Dry Cured Chorizo - Value $15?

Holy Smoke Smoked Olive Oil - Value $15

Olive Oil is one of my favorite items to get in food subscription boxes because I always will use it, and I love trying new gourmet flavors. I may try out some of the smoked olive oil recipes too, but I feel like this flavor could work with almost any dish.

Mantry Subscription Box Review & $25 Coupon - August 2014 Sugar

Zukali Cilantro Pineapple Salsa with Fire Roasted Peppers and Tomatillos - Value $8

Bourbon Smoked Sugar - Value $11

Salsa is one of those pantry items I always want to have extras on hand (I love using it with omelets), so I can't wait to try this Cilantro Pineapple roasted salsa. And I have to say I think Mantry is the expert and finding bourbon-infused items! This sugar will go to the bar, but we may end up using a little for grilling too.

Verdict: This month's box has a food retail value of about $65. Definitely a step up in value from last month. This is a subscription that is much more about the curation that the retail value, and I think they selected excellent items this month.

What do you think of the August Mantry box?

Always love getting this box! We have cold coffee brewing, and I’m looking forward to the salsa. This sub is a bit on the spendy side, but I always discover fun products and we’ve used the cute crates for several different things as well. So far…we’re loving it!

The sugar is also excellent on french fries, or roasted potatoes/sweet potatoes!
I’d venture to say it’d probably be good on something like french toast or pancakes as well!

The items look great, but I’d be angry if I’d spent more than $40 on the box. I’m 100% I could buy those or similar items for less than $65–and definitely less than the $75 box price.
