Verbal Fancy Box Subscription Review - June

The Verbal Fancy box is one of the most interesting Fancy boxes in my opinion! For me, I never know exactly what I’ll get from the boxes, and I assume that I will likely end up putting an item or two in the gift pile! (It seems to be geared toward men, so I am not the target audience for this box – keep that in mind for my review!)

Fancy sent us this box at no cost for review purposes.

Verbal Fancy Box Subscription Review - June 2014 Card Fancy boxes come with a fold out card that details each item included and there’s also a quote from the curator on why they picked each item. Verbal Fancy Box Subscription Review - June 2014 Mug Mood Mug in Seriously Sleepy - Value $16 Skull LED Bike Lights - Value $12 I don't need any more mugs, but I love this yawning mug! It's so appropriate for a caffeine-filled drink, and it's double-wall insulated. (And I'm passing along these bike lights to my brother who uses a bike at college a lot - hopefully he'll actually use them!) Verbal Fancy Box Subscription Review - June 2014 Shots Cool Shooters - Value $12 Speaking of college, I think I'm officially a little too old for this shot glass ice mold! It's going to be gifted or swapped. Verbal Fancy Box Subscription Review - June 2014 USB USB Spaceman Light - Value $25 Well, this is the cutest little USB light I've ever seen. Here's a photo from Fancy on what it looks like in action: Space Man Verbal Fancy Box Subscription Review - June 2014 Coca Cola Beer Can Concealer - Value $4? So...this is an empty Coca Cola can that you slip over a beer can to disguise it. It looks like they don't sell this online anymore, but I did find an article from the Huffington Post insisting you don't buy this item! Verdict: This month's box has a value of about $70. It's always an interesting mix of items (usually some alcohol related item in each box), and like I mentioned before I know I'm not the target audience for this box, but I enjoy opening it each month and I usually find a few items I love. What do you think of the June Verbal Fancy box?

  1. Think Geek sells that shot glass ice mold, but has some fun ideas to use it for other than ice. I think they have fruit filled popsicles, jello, chocolate cups, etc.

  2. This is one of those boxes I would love unboxing, but would then spend the next year trying to figure out what to do with the contents until I eventually gave them away or donated them. Love the mug! Love the light! Wish my life were exciting enough to need the alcohol items. No, I don’t.

  3. lol at the beer can cover. I wonder who actually would use such a thing?? I must live in a bubble world lol!

  4. I love the spaceman light! I totally need one of those, so cute

  5. That spaceman light is too cute!! I am trying to figure out why I need one.

  6. I wonder if Coca-Cola is bothered by the user of their trademark?

I used to think there would be nail wraps in every Fancy box. Now I think there will either be nail wraps or some sort of ice mold. It seems to me, based on reading the reviews on this site for the past six months or so, that most of the Fancy curators (maybe Tyler Florence is an exception, and maybe also Snoop Dogg based on reviews I’ve seen elsewhere) are stuck picking from the same categories of items over and over again. Nail wraps, ear buds, ice molds, etc. — stuff that just isn’t for me.

Oh well, I suppose it’s nice for once to find a subscription that I’m not tempted to buy.

    • *the USE of their trademark, not “user”

      • I’m guessing Coca Cola shut it down because the actual site to buy the can cover mentioned in the Huffington Post article no longer exists.

        • Interesting. I read the HuffPost article but didn’t click the links in it. I guess the maker unloaded these pretty quickly to try to salvage something to pay the lawyers’ fees! Fancy probably shouldn’t be sending them out, either, though…
