Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – June

Petit Vour is a monthly vegan beauty subscription box. It’s a great box if you’re looking to try out new vegan and/or natural beauty products.

Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – June 2014 NCLA

NCLA Nail Lacquer in Let’s Stay Forever – Value $16

NCLA seems to be in a lot of subscription boxes lately, but I like their formula a lot (it’s 5-free and seems to last pretty long), so I’m happy to get more nail polish. (Nail wraps are another story). Also – the packaging of the JetSetter collection is so cute!

Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – June 2014 Shampoo

EVOLVh UltraShine Moisture Conditioner and Shampoo – 2.5 oz each Value $15 total

I’ve sampled EVOLVh in other subscription boxes, and I really love the scent of their haircare products, and they work great too. I suppose it is time for me to finally buy the full-size versions!

Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Subscription Box Review – June 2014 Perfume

MUN No. 1 Aknari Brightening Youth Serum– 1 ml Value $4.75

Tay Rosehip Balancing Cleanser with Seabuckthorn – .5 oz Value $5

(FYI – I’m estimating the size of the Tay cleanser since it wasn’t marked). I’m excited to try the cleanser, and I wish that the serum size would have been larger (I always like large skincare samples so you have enough product to see results), but I like the scent a lot, and it should give me about 2-3 uses).

Verdict: This month’s box has a value of about $40. I think the value is great, and I like that there are a variety of items – though I think the most excited Petit Vour boxes always have at least one makeup item in them. Hopefully there will be makeup in the July box!

What do you think of the June Petit Vour box?

  1. This was my first Petit Vour. I received it and immediately ended my subscription. For some reason I had thought this was going to be full size products; I must have gotten them confused with another box. I got the same thing as you, except the sea green nail color. I don’t mind nail polish, but I would never wear green. The shampoo/conditioner are fine, but I already have so many hair samples. The little bamboo box is super cute and I like that, even if I think it is on the smaller size. The serum on the other hand is way too small! I was equally frustrated with the size of the products in my first Birchbox, and the lack of makeup. I am thinking of switching to boxes that are more makeup focused, since that is what I seem to want.

  2. This is my first box. I received the same items as you Liz except instead of the Tay Cleanser I got Harvey Prince Yogini Petfume. Do they usually have diff variations?

  3. This is my favorite box. I think its a great mix of beauty stuff. I like picking out my own makeup, so it doesn’t bother me that there is other stuff. I have discovered some exceptional beauty products thru them. I have loved everything except for those nail wraps that one time.

    • I agree……I love this box and the quality products that are sent every month!

  4. This box doesn’t excite me in the least.Although I love the Evolvh shampoo & conditioner I have tons of the travel size bottles. They told me when I emailed looking for my tracking number that boxes didn’t go out until Jun 20 but yours obviously did for you to post the review on Jun 19. Mine didn’t actually ship until late June 23 & is still just showing processing. My Aromi lip gloss was a red & they said I had no choice in keeping that color as they don’t do replacements. Just not overly that impressed so will probably cancel once my box arrives.

  5. Finally got my box yesterday. My nail polish color was different (I forget the name), kind of a light sea green color. But that’s cool because I like it better than the light blue pictured up above!

  6. Petit Vour is my favorite sub and I think June’s curation is perfect. Vacation is exactly what’s on my mind, and skincare samples can go in my carry-on. I’m excited to try the hair products and am a sucker for good packaging–NCLA!! Perfect.

  7. I cancelled my box after last month. So glad I did. I don’t want shampoo or little tiny serum samples. I’m interested in makeup and this box doesn’t do great with that. Makeup is limited & All the make up I did receive in past boxes was in shades I wouldn’t wear. I also just hate when you get little skin care samples because how are you supposed to be able to tell if it works well or if you like it? In the end I just wasn’t happy with this box. I’m disappointed since I was very excited with thecruelty free premise.

    • You might really want to consider looking into some indie vegan makeup and subs! I cancelled BB/ipsy and picked up Petit Vour and decided to buy some indie stuff every month.

  8. I signed up earlier this week and am still wondering if I’ll get a June box or if they’ll start my subscription in July. Hope it starts this month, that box looks great! Vegan Cuts and Saffron Rouge are next on my “wants” list.

    • Hi Crystal,

Yes, you’ll be getting this June box! We hope you love it! xx

    • I did the same thing! After canceling SS and Ipsy, I needed another box to fill the gap! lol I’m so tempted to add Vegan Cuts too, but I think I’m going to hold off until fall… or at least until I can use up the mountains of skincare and cosmetic samples that are starting to form in my bathroom! lol

  9. This is the first time where you reviewed this box before I received mine! I’ve been subscribing since the premier box and usually get an email when the box ships, but haven’t received one yet (usually it’s around this time of the month). I’m thinking it’s because you’re a blogger? Box look pretty good though… looking forward to trying everything!

  10. Love that nail polish color! On my wish list.

  11. I’m disappointed! This was my 1st month and I signed up just for the makeup items and there aren’t any in it. Big letdown!

  12. Liz: A bit off topic …. yet I’m having issues accepting swaps – Once I click submit, it gives an error message.

    • Eek! I’m going to send you an email so we can get more details and look into it. Sorry!

  13. I haven’t gotten my box yet either, though this will be my first with them. PV’s twitter said they were packing up the last of the boxes. 🙂

  14. I liked the last box better —

This box I’ll only use the: Tay Rosehip Balancing Cleanser with Seabuckthorn and Maybe I’ll try the nail polish ( depending on the color ) – The rest I’ll be swapping. I’ve gotten so many Julep nail polishes in the last 3 months, when ever i see nail polish i’m bla about it. I wish they would have included a good lip balm with spf for the summer, or maybe a makeup mirror.

  15. Do they normally send shipping notifications? When do people normally receive their boxes? I signed up for this one (late) last month but haven’t heard anything. (Maybe they sent yours early since you’re a blogger?) Although when I had to change my credit card number, their customer service got back to me very quickly.

I think EVOLVh hair treatments are good, haven’t tried the shampoo. But don’t buy them at a mall kiosk (where I originally got mine), they’ll totally rip you off. Woman quoted me a price for a hair mask of $100. I talked her down to $29.95. But I have no idea how much I should’ve paid…(It was a huge container, at least.)
